Not a Mass Effect game unless something explodes in the intro. I can't really tell how long it's been between ME2 and now but boy oh boy does Shephard sound tired.
Vega, this new guy is pretty much what I'd concur is the definition of 'beefcake' look at the SIZE of this man.
Anderson gave up his Council Position huh? I wondered why he'd gone Admiral. Now I know.
So the kid in the vents wouldn't let us save him, but he's okay later. We go to Mars, and Kaiden and Shephard have enough (sexual) tension to cut fucking glass. At this point you two ought to punch this out or SOMETHING. A fight (or idk something!) might do you both a world of good. Perhaps moreso on Kaiden's end, but eh, who can really say.

I find myself wondering as I play if Mass Effect was always planned as a trilogy from the get-go because it absolutely has that sort of feeling to it.
And man if Hackett isn't a real one. Man's had our back since day one and has yet to let us down. Pouring one out for Hackett.

If you had to live in a setting of your creation, which would you pick?
tbh probably the rebuilt galaxy as portrayed in my Mass Efffect fics. Like yeah we all have turbo-PTSD now from the galactic genocide but other than that we're doing pretty good!
Do you prefer writing endings or beginnings?
Both, though if I had to choose, endings 100%. Genuinely though, beginnings and endings are my favorite parts. Finding the right place to drop into a story is great! And there is, genuinely, nothing more satisfying than finding exactly where a story is meant to end.
I would argue, honestly, that being able to tell when it's time to end a story is a core, essential, basic skill of writing. This applies to scenes, chapters, whole works....not knowing how to END something is how you get like. There are these monster fics that are good and enjoyable, but they're 86 fucking chapters long and by the time you get 1/3 of the way through you've completely lost track of anything that happened in the setup....but if the whole work had been broken up into a series, those four 20-chapter fics would be much easier to keep straight and the work would have a better, more cohesive structure overall.
It's actually kind of hurtful to me as a writer when I've wrapped a story up really well, tied it off, told exactly the story that needed to be there, and get well-meaning comments encouraging me to "continue" it. (Which is usually, for the record, not quite the same thing as "I'd absolutely read more stories in this setting/timeline/style if you were to write them", because that sentiment still respects that the existing work is whole, complete, and ends where it should.)
I'm not going to get MAD obviously, they don't mean any harm, but it does kind of feel like they're not actually engaging with the story that exists in any meaningful way--like, tell me you see my fic as Content TM without telling me, you know? You're not engaging with the narrative, you're just Consuming and immediately holding out your hand for more. I'm glad you thought it was good and it's obviously a compliment that you want more, but like....did you even stop to taste it?

Dragon- How did you first find out that you were into monsters?
Oh gosh. So it was something of a gradual slide for me. The Fallout ghouls really did something for me (Charon Mass Efffect and Garrus, because I’m a bit of a sucker for voices?
Skyrim Orcs were probably the next step in the process (with a little extra love for Paarthurnaax), and then someone I was following on Tumblr was posting stories about it, and from there it just kind of snowballed. I went from liking orcs to writing about Orcs, to reading about more monsters, to being more into other monsters.

New Mass Effect: Andromeda Rumors
So I’m sure that by now, even people who aren’t fans of Mass Efffect are aware of the latest game’s facial animation issues, and many fans of the series have been asking “How could a massive AAA game with millions of dollars and years of development time shit the bed so hard on such an important part of the game?”
Well, it may not have been the fault of the development team, and the blame can instead be laid at the feet of Upper Management at BioWare.
Liam Robertson AKA Game History Guy over on YouTube made this video on the subject. This is all stuff that should be taken with a grain of salt, and may not be entirely true, but it is all certainly plausible. For anyoen who is unable or doesn’t have the time to watch the entire video, here are the key points.
According to his source at BioWare, the reason the animations are so bad is due to the use of CyberScan technology, which can scan a person into the game and create a high-quality model of the person, however, the technology is not to the point where it alone can create a model all on its own, and the 3-D model it creates then needs to be sent to an animator, but it is a fantastic tool for creating a base to work on.
After the Cyberscan Process was complete, instead of letting the game’s development team work on it, the human character models were instead outsourced to various development studios associated with EA, no one is quite sure which ones, but it seems that EA Bucharest in Romania did a lot of the work. But the real kicker are the reasons behind this decision.
While business costs are certainly lower in Romania due to a much lower labor cost, that was apparently NOT the reason that this decision was made. The main reason was because Upper Management at BioWare did not consider the facial animations to be enough of a priority for the main dev team to spend time on, in spite of the Development Team insisting otherwise, and instead sent these animations out to various studios, and had the Main team work on Hard Surface Assets like Enviornments and ships, as well as a few robotic characters and some of the aliens.
Also cited as a reason was a “Corporate Culture of Political Correctness” and a fear that the in-house team would make the characters (not just the female characters, but all characters) “too attractive” and alienate some audiences.
If this turns out to be true, then this has got to be a new level of corporate incompetence, deciding that Facial animations and character modeling is unimportant in a heavily story and character-driven game where you will spend a significant amount of time staring directly at those faces and models and animations has got to be some kind of record for “Worst Decision Ever Made Concerning a Video Game.” This would be like if Blizzard decided to outsource the shooting mechanics in Overwatch to some other studio.
It goes without saying that this all needs to be taken with a grain of salt, but if this is true, then What the Actual Fuck is wrong with BioWare’s upper management.

1) Cahel Maharel (with Alistair Theirin as romance, or with Cherche Mahariel and Miris Tabris for more of a family vibe)
2) Miris Tabris (with Zevran as a romance, or with the above mentioned)
3) Avery Hawke (romance options: Fenris AND Anders, but not at the same time, but also platonic with her paired Hawke brother Moses or any other character. Varric especially)
4) Kaaras Adaar (Dorian, platonic can be his family members Akri Adaar and Jackel Lavellan)
5) Akri Adaar (more in a family mood with him)
6) Aeronwen Trevelyan (Scout harding, but family is good too with Owain and Ian Trevelyan, also for Jackel Lavellan)

5 Hukum Komunikasi Yang Efektif yang kami kembangkan dan rangkum dalam satu kata yang mencerminkan esensi dari komunikasi itu sendiri yaitu REACH, yang berarti merengkuh atau meraih. Karena sesungguhnya komunikasi itu pada dasarnya adalah upaya bagaimana kita meraih perhatian, cinta kasih, minat, kepedulian, simpati, tanggapan, maupun respon positif dari orang lain.
Hukum # 1: Respect Hukum pertama dalam mengembangkan komunikasi yang efektif adalah sikap menghargai setiap individu yang menjadi sasaran pesan yang kita sampaikan. Rasa hormat dan saling menghargai merupakan hukum yang pertama dalam kita berkomunikasi dengan orang lain. Ingatlah bahwa pada prinsipnya manusia ingin dihargai dan dianggap penting. Jika kita bahkan harus mengkritik atau memarahi seseorang, lakukan dengan penuh respek terhadap harga diri dan kebanggaaan seseorang. Jika kita membangun komunikasi dengan rasa dan sikap saling menghargai dan menghormati, maka kita dapat membangun kerjasama yang menghasilkan sinergi yang akan meningkatkan efektifitas kinerja kita baik sebagai individu maupun secara keseluruhan sebagai sebuah tim.
Bahkan menurut mahaguru komunikasi Dale Carnegie dalam bukunya How to Win Friends and Influence People, rahasia terbesar yang merupakan salah satu prinsip dasar dalam berurusan dengan manusia adalah dengan memberikan penghargaan yang jujur dan tulus. Seorang ahli psikologi yang sangat terkenal William James juga mengatakan bahwa "Prinsip paling dalam pada sifat dasar manusia adalah kebutuhan untuk dihargai." Dia mengatakan ini sebagai suatu kebutuhan (bukan harapan ataupun keinginan yang bisa ditunda atau tidak harus dipenuhi), yang harus dipenuhi. Ini adalah suatu rasa lapar manusia yang tak terperikan dan tak tergoyahkan. Lebih jauh Carnegie mengatakan bahwa setiap individu yang dapat memuaskan kelaparan hati ini akan menggenggam orang dalam telapak tangannya. Hukum # 2: Empathy Empati adalah kemampuan kita untuk menempatkan diri kita pada situasi atau kondisi yang dihadapi oleh orang lain. Salah satu prasyarat utama dalam memiliki sikap empati adalah kemampuan kita untuk mendengarkan atau mengerti terlebih dulu sebelum didengarkan atau dimengerti oleh orang lain. Secara khusus Covey menaruh kemampuan untuk mendengarkan sebagai salah satu dari 7 kebiasaan manusia yang sangat efektif, yaitu kebiasaan untuk mengerti terlebih dahulu, baru dimengerti (Seek First to Understand - understand then be understood to build the skills of empathetic listening that inspires openness and trust). Inilah yang disebutnya dengan Komunikasi Empatik. Dengan memahami dan mendengar orang lain terlebih dahulu, kita dapat membangun keterbukaan dan kepercayaan yang kita perlukan dalam membangun kerjasama atau sinergi dengan orang lain.
Rasa empati akan memampukan kita untuk dapat menyampaikan pesan (message) dengan cara dan sikap yang akan memudahkan penerima pesan (receiver) menerimanya. Oleh karena itu dalam ilmu pemasaran (marketing) memahami perilaku konsumen (consumer's behavior) merupakan keharusan. Dengan memahami perilaku konsumen, maka kita dapat empati dengan apa yang menjadi kebutuhan, keinginan, minat, harapan dan kesenangan dari konsumen. Demikian halnya dengan bentuk komunikasi lainnya, misalnya komunikasi dalam membangun kerjasama tim. Kita perlu saling memahami dan mengerti keberadaan orang lain dalam tim kita. Rasa empati akan menimbulkan respek atau penghargaan, dan rasa respek akan membangun kepercayaan yang merupakan unsur utama dalam membangun teamwork.
Jadi sebelum kita membangun komunikasi atau mengirimkan pesan, kita perlu mengerti dan memahami dengan empati calon penerima pesan kita. Sehingga nantinya pesan kita akan dapat tersampaikan tanpa ada halangan psikologis atau penolakan dari penerima.
Empati bisa juga berarti kemampuan untuk mendengar dan bersikap perseptif atau siap menerima masukan ataupun umpan balik apapun dengan sikap yang positif. Banyak sekali dari kita yang tidak mau mendengarkan saran, masukan apalagi kritik dari orang lain. Padahal esensi dari komunikasi adalah aliran dua arah. Komunikasi satu arah tidak akan efektif manakala tidak ada umpan balik (feedback) yang merupakan arus balik dari penerima pesan. Oleh karena itu dalam kegiatan komunikasi pemasaran above the lines (mass media advertising) diperlukan kemampuan untuk mendengar dan menangkap umpan balik dari audiensi atau penerima pesan.
Hukum # 3: Audible Makna dari audible antara lain: dapat didengarkan atau dimengerti dengan baik. Jika empati berarti kita harus mendengar terlebih dahulu ataupun mampu menerima umpan balik dengan baik, maka audible berarti pesan yang kita sampaikan dapat diterima oleh penerima pesan. Hukum ini mengatakan bahwa pesan harus disampaikan melalui media atau delivery channel sedemikian hingga dapat diterima dengan baik oleh penerima pesan. Hukum ini mengacu pada kemampuan kita untuk menggunakan berbagai media maupun perlengkapan atau alat bantu audio visual yang akan membantu kita agar pesan yang kita sampaikan dapat diterima dengan baik. Dalam komunikasi personal hal ini berarti bahwa pesan disampaikan dengan cara atau sikap yang dapat diterima oleh penerima pesan.
Hukum # 4: Clarity Selain bahwa pesan harus dapat dimengerti dengan baik, maka hukum keempat yang terkait dengan itu adalah kejelasan dari pesan itu sendiri sehingga tidak menimbulkan multi interpretasi atau berbagai penafsiran yang berlainan. Ketika saya bekerja di Sekretariat Negara, hal ini merupakan hukum yang paling utama dalam menyiapkan korespondensi tingkat tinggi. Karena kesalahan penafsiran atau pesan yang dapat menimbulkan berbagai penafsiran akan menimbulkan dampak yang tidak sederhana. Clarity dapat pula berarti keterbukaan dan transparansi. Dalam berkomunikasi kita perlu mengembangkan sikap terbuka (tidak ada yang ditutupi atau disembunyikan), sehingga dapat menimbulkan rasa percaya (trust) dari penerima pesan atau anggota tim kita. Karena tanpa keterbukaan akan timbul sikap saling curiga dan pada gilirannya akan menurunkan semangat dan antusiasme kelompok atau tim kita.
Hukum # 5: Humble Hukum kelima dalam membangun komunikasi yang efektif adalah sikap rendah hati. Sikap ini merupakan unsur yang terkait dengan hukum pertama untuk membangun rasa menghargai orang lain, biasanya didasari oleh sikap rendah hati yang kita miliki. Dalam edisi Mandiri 32 Sikap Rendah Hati pernah kita bahas, yang pada intinya antara lain: sikap yang penuh melayani (dalam bahasa pemasaran Customer First Attitude), sikap menghargai, mau mendengar dan menerima kritik, tidak sombong dan memandang rendah orang lain, berani mengakui kesalahan, rela memaafkan, lemah lembut dan penuh pengendalian diri, serta mengutamakan kepentingan yang lebih besar.
Jika komunikasi yang kita bangun didasarkan pada lima hukum pokok komunikasi yang efektif ini, maka kita dapat menjadi seorang komunikator yang handal dan pada gilirannya dapat membangun jaringan hubungan dengan orang lain yang penuh dengan penghargaan (respect), karena inilah yang dapat membangun hubungan jangka panjang yang saling menguntungkan dan saling menguatkan. source : http://anik-gurung.tripod.com/id29.html
