GREETINGS:

001. towards strangers -- puts on a mask. immediately happy and very touchy-feely with them. offers a hand and then usually makes them shake his hand anyway. boisterous and feigns interest in their personal life. tries his best and hardest in order to “befriend” the stranger and make them feel comfortable with him. seems invested in their life, but if one were to squint it’s all superficial and solely intended to make him look good.

002. towards family -- horrible. towards takeshi, he greets him with wide eyes and strained smiles, not once extending a hand for him to shake. greets him with a small “good evening”, a dismissive turn of the head, and subtle physical threats. with nori, he always pulls him in for a hug with soft whispers of taunts and pleas for him to never leave. does not treat them like family but, instead, like possessions.

003. towards enemies and the like -- pleasant hellos and the like with, as always, a handshake. should they take the offer, he uses both hands to hold onto theirs with a vice-like grip in the form of a threat. regardless, always beams at them all the while with a friendly grin and wide, alert eyes. an obvious undertone of passive aggression is always present as he asks how their day is, how they’re doing, and the like.

004. towards figures of authority -- immediately starts by kissing up to them. usual transactions of formality and professionalism like handshakes, bow of the head, and ren commenting about their person. does not instantaneously take on his happy, somewhat ditzy demeanor but definitely tries to come off as someone to turn to, as the saying goes. direct eye-to-eye contact and very expressive body language always.

005. towards crushes, lovers, subjects of lust, etc -- like he would towards strangers, but there’d be certain changes. he never breaks eye contact with them and shows signs of visible anxiety if one were to look closely. actually avoids shaking hands with them and instead tries to avoid touching them. unusually quiet, preferring to let them take charge of the conversation as he fills the void by observing and, thus, obsessing over them. tries much harder to make a lasting impression on them by being pleasant, polite, and attentive.

COLORS:

SCENTS:

001. fresh blood, from fresh prey. sometimes left alive and sometimes not.

002. old leather, the likes from wearing boots, belts, and old corsets.

003. vintage perfume, dousing himself with it in order to repel the smell from his kills.

005. vanilla shampoo, because it’s his favorite scent for shampoo.

CLOTHING:

001. the usual are handmade suits, personally commissioned by him. trench coats and comfortable slacks with heeled boots. sometimes wears gloves with it, but nowadays it’s only for public outings and publicity stunts. very paranoid about its appearance, making sure no wrinkles, no stains, and no other imperfections can be found. greys, whites, and blacks are his preferred colors.

002. rather strange with his attire underneath the suits. rarely might go through the day whilst wearing a corset-- be it more vintage or modern in design. other times dabbles a bit in wearing loose lace that’s similar in shape and function to lingerie. likes bright, eye-catching colors such as pastel pinks and greens. these are always in perfect condition, too.

003. when involved in fights and is able to plan ahead, tends to strips himself of his shirt and jackets to allow more room and to prevent damaging the material. prefers wearing tighter clothing such as leather pants or jeans that cling to skin. always, always wears gloves to prevent the tracing of fingerprints. wears heeled shoes with sharp points to further prevent recognizable footsteps.

004. sleepwear normally consists of nightgowns and robes using thin material such as silk and lace. they’re muted in color. they hug his figure (by use of either elastic or a pseudo-belt) well enough to keep it flattering to appease his egotistical nature. no footwear, however, as he prefers to walk barefoot. 

005. ren’s wardrobe hardly changes as the seasons change as he has an inherent need to always keep his body covered. however, he will wear thicker coats during the winter time due to his outright hatred for cold weather. he always tries to keep his wardrobe consistent, though, so the public knows immediately who he is when he’s out and about.

OBJECTS:

001. yumiko’s wedding ring -- kept after her murder. keeps it alone in a small, worn down jewelry box (that was also owned by her) on a nightstand next to his bed.

002. compact butterfly knife -- simple and dark red in design. always in his pocket. uses it, in addition to his own hands, to cut himself to guilt trip nori into staying under his roof.

003. small journal -- kept in good condition and is a simple, dull red color. notes about each and every person he deems as “worthy” within it, mainly their triggers and quirks.

004. child’s tooth -- a baby tooth, presumed to be one of the front teeth he’s forcefully pulled from nori’s mouth. has it stowed away in his office’s desk drawer.

005. wallet and cellphone -- the bare necessities. wallet holds identification, a few bank cards, and always has at least a hundred dollars on him. cellphone is of a smartphone variety.

VICES / BAD HABITS:

001. arrogant --  has no qualms whatsoever with bragging about his experiences and lifestyle. is cautious about boasting when being interviewed but when faced in a one-on-one situation with someone he deems as a “nobody”, he’s sure to dig into their lifestyle and compare and contrast between them. in the end, he’s always sure to state that he’s better and deserves the world’s spotlight.

002. dependent -- despite his unyielding confidence, he’s excessively dependent on others for their attention. he doesn’t want to be someone’s last thought nor does he even want to be their second option. always wants to be someone’s number one even if it means their first target for murder. this goes for both those he cares little for and those he’s practically enamored with. as long as it’s attention, ren’s appeased for the day.

003. liar -- has no shame about putting on a mask. to the outside world, he is a caring if albeit “wistful” mayor with good intentions and a big heart. he’s more than open to shaking hands of individuals deemed as physically unacceptable to society, but as soon as no one is looking-- he’s quick to wipe his hand on his shirt and make mental notes to wash his hands furiously later. if he is caught in a lie, he stumbles and quickly tries to recover in the form of backpedaling.

004. paranoid -- trusts no one, even those he’s grown “close” to. there has yet to be anyone that knows of his childhood, and he prefers to keep it that way. always very careful with himself and filters himself regularly so as to not reveal personal and crucial information about his character. however, this leads to pseudo anxiety attacks when he believes someone has caught onto his act and throws him into a downwards spiral until he can, finally, kill them.

005. sadomasochist -- both enjoys pain and having it inflicted upon him. due to his incorrect development and growth from child to adult, he is unable to recognize that pain is negative. when he gives pain, he thinks of it as a fun pastime because he’s gracing his prey with his existence. when he is receiving pain, it fills him with a sort of adrenaline that twists itself around into another form of attention because it’s him that’s receiving it and not some “nobody”.

BODY LANGUAGE:

001. finger biting -- a sign of major anxiety. always bites his index finger and usually causes it to bleed due to the pressure applied.

002. entwining fingers -- does this when seated. a polite gesture, meant as an unspoken comment of “i’m keeping these to myself, don’t worry.”

003. silent laughter -- rapid shake of shoulders that implies laughter. does this in order to appear calm and mature. 

004. head tilts -- more-so a habit more than anything else. use to do this a lot as a young adult in order to suit the “innocent boy” persona he’s since mastered.

005. aggressive scratching -- hard and angry scratches at his neck, wrists, and thighs when he’s caught in a lie and has no way out.

AESTHETICS:

001. his tongue pressing against a cheek as his victim cries, tasting the tears and noting more. hands are firmly holding them in place as they shake and tremble in fear.

002. freshly spilled blood splattered upon a pale surface, especially clothing and skin that belongs to a person of interest. 

003. the soft, rhythmic tick-tocking of pocket watches and grandfather clocks. there to always serve as a reminder of his mortality.

004. the feel of something sharp cutting into a layer. be it scissors cleanly going through paper, needles through thread, or a knife slicing into skin.

005. strong, calloused hands tightly and aggressively balled into his clothing, pulling him and threatening him with bodily harm.
