If they keep Xigbar's eye gold, I think there could be a case made for it's the scarring from being so close to darkness for so long. After all, ol' nortimer's eyes weren't even originally gold themselves. They're the result of scarring via darkness (at least, implied to be). same goes for anti aqua, who as we know wasn't actually Norted, just had a ball of darkness hucked at her. The same case could be made for the white streaks, if Nomura wants to keep up the idea that xigbar is supposedly under 45 (he's definitely not under 45, who are they trying to kid?)

yeah that makes sense! they can also imply that he's keeping the traits as a result of being a nobody despite not still being norted. theyre pretty iconic parts of his design, i think, and if they found (imo) elegant in-universe reasons for having axel still be called axel (and roxas, roxas; and xion, xion; etc) then they'll find elegant in-universe reasons for keeping xigbar looking the way he is. they're evidently still calling him xigbar, after all.

id still love for them to redesign xigbar in some ways though. give im a new outfit. let his hair down. FUCK i need to see him in the goat armor from the nort boss fight. those cunty heels.
