Monster (2004-2005)
- Johan (dressed as Nina): Is your mom around here?
- Milosz: What?
- Johan: You said you’re looking for your mother.
- Milosz: Yeah. But I don’t know if she’s around here.
- Johan: Then how will you find her? Do you have a photo of her?
- Milosz: No, I don’t.
- Johan: Then you don’t know what she looks like.
- Milosz: Yes, I do! If I see her face, I’ll know! Nobody at the orphanage believes me. They say there’s no way I can tell. But I’ll know my mom when I see her! What’s more…
- Johan: Yes?
- Milosz: Mom will know me when she sees me!

Now here's something that I think will stick, I have a gut feeling about this.
Here's a huge ass list yet again of everything (as in all of the numerous different kinds of media) that I can see sharing the same universe as Rockstar Games' Red Dead Redemption Duology, that you can both read and see below for yourself with the theme connecting them is the focus on unconventional type of protagonists and ensembles fighting the odds and high stakes:
youtube
• Sergio Leone's The Dollars Trilogy
• The Quentin Tarantino Universe (Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight, Inglourious Basterds, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, Reservoir Dogs, True Romance, Pulp Fiction, Natural Born Killers, Kill Bill 1 & 2, From Dusk Till Dawn and Curdled)
• Park Chan-Wook's Oldboy
• Kim Jee-Won's I Saw The Devil
• Gore Verbinski's Pirates Of The Caribbean Trilogy
• Julius Avery's Overlord (2018)
• Remedy Entertainment's Connected Universe
• Stephen Sommers' The Mummy (1999)
• HBO's Spawn Trilogy
• Takahiro Omori's Baccano!, Durarara!! and Durarara!! x2
• Sunao Katabuchi's Black Lagoon
• Masayuki Kojima's Monster
• Tetsuro Araki's Death Note and Attack On Titan (the first two seasons)
• Hajime Isayama's Attack On Titan (the Royal Government arc — manga)
• Chris Carter's The X Files Series (First nine seasons, Fight The Future, Millennium and The Lone Gunmen)
• Joss "Yikes!" Whedon's Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel

TEN THOUSAND LEAVES
1.たくさんの詩を集めた本;
1.中間文字を「言葉」(ことは、文字通り「言葉の葉」)と解釈し、「一万語」、つまり「多くの和歌」を与える人々は、戦楽、下光部長流、角吾妻麻郎、鴨馬口など、そして;
Forgotten
The literal translation of the kanji that make up the title Man'yōshū (万 — 葉 — 集) is "ten thousand — leaves — collection".
The principal interpretations of this name, according to the 20th century scholar Sen'ichi Hisamatsu, are:
1. A book that collects a great many poems;
2. A book for all generations; and:
3. A poetry collection that uses a large volume of paper.
Of these, supporters of the first interpretation can be further divided into:
1. Those who interpret the middle character as "words" (koto no ha, lit. "leaves of speech"), thus giving "ten thousand words", i.e. "many waka", including Sengaku, Shimokōbe Chōryū , Kada no Azumamaro and Kamo no Mabuchi,and;
2. Those who interpret the middle character as literally referring to leaves of a tree, but as a metaphor for poems,including Ueda Akinari, Kimura Masakoto, Masayuki Okada, Torao Suzuki, Kiyotaka Hoshikawa and Susumu Nakanishi.
Furthermore, supporters of the second interpretation of the name can be divided into:
1. It was meant to express the intention that the work should last for all time (proposed by Keichū, and supported by Kamochi Masazumi, Inoue Michiyasu, Yoshio Yamada, Noriyuki Kojima and Tadashi Ōkubo);
2. It was meant to wish for long life for the emperor and empress (Shinobu Origuchi );
3. It was meant to indicate that the collection included poems from all ages (proposed by Yamada).
The third interpretation of the name - that it refers to a poetry collection that uses a large quantity of paper - was proposed by Yūkichi Takeda in his Man'yōshū Shinkai jō (萬葉集新解上),but Takeda also accepted the second interpretation; his theory that the title refers to the large volume of paper used in the collection has not gained much traction among other scholars.
As someone whose studied classical Japanese, this translation is pretty loose and what comes off as blunt is actually quite subtle in the language of origin
This poem is #947 from the Book of Ten Thousand Leaves (万葉集).
A diving girl from Suma (note that this is a Ji-amari - six syllables instead of five)
Salt-Burning Clothes (This is a Makura Kotoba, a set phrase meant to modify another word - in this case the Ama or diving girl.)
If we become familiar/Will we become familiar (in this context it can also refer to the clinging of clothes to the body)
Day on day, you will
忘れて思はむ = Not be forgotten
Translating it, I would write it as such:
If we become familiar,
like the salt-stained clothes clinging
to the diving girls from Suma,
day on day you will,
not be forgotten.
(Would talk about more, but I spent enough time translating. Point is the seduction is a lot more subtle in the original language)
