Culinary Weekend on Wheels
So, I've been feeling a bit stir crazy lately, as you can imagine!  Luckily, David was awesome and thoughtful and had my wheelchair ready for me for the weekend :)  It was such a beautiful weekend and the wheelchair allowed me to be out and about! :)
On Saturday, David wheeled me out for lunch and we had a delicious meal at Cabbage Patch.  I love the staff there and I had a delicious lentil salad which I can't rave enough about!!  Love the salty, tangy, crunchy goodness ;)  For dinner, we went out, why not?!  David wheeled me over to our favorite restaurant, The Gorbals.  We love all the small plates and we had our absolute favorite, broccoli !  I know, you're thinking, broccoli  really?!  The way it's prepared  is just the best - a bit crispy, tangy with balsamic vinegar and spices, just the best!!  We also had a burger, paella, bacon wrapped matzo balls - so, so wonderful! :)
We started Sunday going out to breakfast of course! ;)  Going our for breakfast, is my favorite!!  It's the meal I prefer to go out for the most :)  We decided to check out The Parish and we didn't regret it!  I had their sage biscuit with sausage and egg and it was delicious!  After breakfast, we went to the Music Center and Grand Hope Park to do a photo shoot with Zorro :)  It was really fun and I hadn't been to the park yet, wow, I love the park! :)  Sunday was another beautiful day!!
After Zorro's photo shoot, we went out for "linner" (lunch/dinner).  We went to Mas Malo and I have to admit, it hasn't been one of my favorites.  We tried their brunch and I've changed my mind, so delicious!!  David had the carnitas short stack and it might sound weird, but I tried a bite of the carnitas with a bite of his pancakes and the combo was exquisite ! :)  I had the chicken milanesa torta and I couldn't have been happier with my choice!!  Our cousin Andy was with us and helped with the photo shoot and after "linner" we went to the movies.  We saw No! with Gael Garcia Bernal and we enjoyed it very much :)  How could you not, Gael is HOT! ;) HA!!
Big thanks to David for wheeling me around and being so open to do that so I could come along!! :D  Another big thanks to Andy for all his help too ;)  I love Downtown Los Angeles because all these restaurants are walking distance from our loft...got to love it! :D

Tacos Are Fancy Son! Downtown Gets Mas Malo
The white-collar crowd's answer to a gourmet Mexican experience, Mas Malo, the sequel to Malo, Silver Lake's popular "hipster" taqueria, opened in Downtown Los Angeles this month, minus the skinny jeans.
Owned by Jeff Ellermeyer and Mitchell Frank, Mas Malo occupies the ground floor of the Brock Jewelers building dating back to the early 1920s.  The split-level restaurant features a high ceiling dining room with sexy lounge seating. And for those of you who need to get shit-faced in style, Mas Malo also dons a swanky "Dusk Till Dawn-esque" cantina along with a tequila tasting room in the historic spaces' old jewelry vault which houses an impressive 300 tequilas.
A similar menu to the Silver Lake original, Mas Malo patrons can enjoy favorites like Spicy Cucumber Margaritas, Ground Beef and Pickle tacos, Eggplant and potato taquitos and the Tijuana Caesar Salad.
