Greg was told not to bother people in the woodlands. Which was both smart, because of hunting seasons, and dumb, because what could hurt anyone in Wyoming?

So after he did his chores Greg would play in the woodlands. Until the bison.

Greg didn't spot it straight away, if he did he would have gotten away sooner. Instead all 5 year old Greg could do is freeze as the bison came right up to him. It sniffed him then softly head butted him. Greg was pushed back and the bison head butted him again. Finally Greg got the impression that the bison wanted him to move. They slowly headed out of the woods, the bison helping Greg over logs and being a soft hand hold when Greg stumbled.

The made it to the edge of the woods, out the back of Greg's house. Greg turned to say goodbye to the bison but it had vanished.

It took a few weeks but Greg finally met the bison again. He had long grass in his hands ready and seeds in his bag if the bison was really hungry. This time Greg was able to introduce himself. The bison seemed amused and wasn't as quick to guide him out of the woodlands.

Greg met with the bison a few times before the hunter. He wasn't dressed in camo or anything but he had a shotgun over his shoulder.

"You shouldn't be out here Greg. You dont know what could be out here."

"How did you know my name."

"I know a lot of things about you Greg."

"Did the bison tell you."

"Bison?"

"um."

Greg suddenly was scared. He just told a man with a gun about a wild animal.

"Please don't hurt him, he's my friend."

The hunter smiled, Greg felt instantly warm and at home. This was a man he could trust, "I won't hurt your friend, but you should leave now."

His parents never believed him about the bison. It didn't matter anyway, they were lost in a house fire and Greg was shipped to New York to live with his Aunt.

He never got to say goodbye to his bison friend but the hunter said he would pass the message along and Greg would be protected in New York.

Greg hugged them man, "sir, what's your name?"

"Call me Wyoming, little one."

Week 6 Preview: #25 Maryland at #8 Florida State

Favorite: Florida State by 15.5 My Computer: Florida State #9 My Computer: Maryland unranked

Florida State gets a chance to show why they, not Clemson, are the ACC's hope of a National Title this year.  

Maryland is a solid team in the computer top 25's (although not mine) and the human polls.  They have run the ball very well and their shutout blowout vs West Virginia looks pretty good after WVU beat Oklahoma State (although the rest of their resume is less admirable).  Maryland is really untested.  Old Dominion and FIU? Even a blowout doesn't really mean that much.  UConn played them close, the same UConn that nearly beat Michigan but also the same UConn that lost to Towson and got blown out by Buffalo.  That's why this solid Maryland team is outside my top 25. Florida State is absolutely a National Title contender right now.  Famous Jameis is playing like a veteran and the offense is rolling.  The defense started off by holding Pitt to 14 in a blowout and Nevada to 7 in a bigger blowout.  Sure Nevada doesn't have Colin Kaepernick anymore, but they're still not a team who's offense is expected to be shut down easily.  What they did in their last game though has me worried.  BC put up 34 points on the young FSU defense.  They let up 200 yards rushing in that game.  One off game can be forgiven and when that team is a conference foe, its not that hard to forgive.  They still won by 2 touchdowns although they trailed for most of the first half.  Florida State should handle this game well.  The offense is there, the talent is there, and the defense has shown that they can be there.  Still, if Maryland shows up and FSU does not, its not as if Maryland were that incredibly over-matched.

My dirty little secret? I actually kind of really like Maryland's new "Pride" uniforms that they unveiled in their season opener and are wearing tonight against Notre Dame. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one, too... *Insert Embarrassed Smiley Here*

Final Preseason Rankings: #72 Maryland

Projected Record: 5-7 Why so high?  Maryland more likely than not will want to make good run in their final season in the ACC.  They have a good history of wins.

Why so low? Last year was not a good one for the Terapins (or any other ACC team for that matter) Highest aspiration?  They have 9 winnable games so 9 wins with incredible luck and improvement.
