Al Ewing is writing the “resurrection of magneto”, would you want to see the maximoffs featured in that or no? Presumably Wanda will be involved at least tangentially if magneto goes through the waiting room, but they could also do more (or less, I guess).

I feel like not bringing his kids into it would feel strange at this point since Polaris’s last recent appearance was skipping the gala to grieve him, pietro is currently in an x book, and sw’s current arc is pretty focused on Joseph and by extension magneto. It feels like they’re intentionally building towards a reunion (though I’m not going in with any expectations of a retcon)

This is just a teaser-- an actual announcement will be made at NYCC, which isn't until October, so we don't know much about the series yet. It's slated for January next year, so we've got a ways to go.

I do agree with you. At the time of his death, Magneto's relationships with his children-- biological or otherwise-- were better than they had been in many years. That's a pretty low bar to cross, but still, it would very strange if his surviving family was not included in some way. Do you remember how weirdly uninvolved most of Wanda's family was in Trial-- including Magneto himself, even though the book was named after him? Well, I have a lot more faith in Ewing than I do Williams.

Since this is also the same writer who handled Magneto's entire arc leading up to his death, I expect great narrative and character integrity for his resurrection. However, I wouldn't be surprised if this series turns out to be more of a continuation of X-Men Red than anything else, in which case Magneto's return will probably have more to do with Arakko than Krakoa or the Waiting Room. So if Lorna or the twins are present, they probably won't be major players.

At this point, it feels like everybody's just forgotten about the Waiting Room, or any of the other improvements that Wanda made to Krakoan resurrection. The writers have done literally nothing with it since Trial-- poor Northstar never even got his baby back. It was the same thing Jean's Phoenix Foundation, even the fallout from Sins of Sinister. Anytime they do something that should change the status quo with resurrection, they just drop it almost immediately.

Of course, we also have no idea, yet, what the state of mutantkind is going to look like four months from now. At the moment, Krakoan resurrection is off the table and we don't know if the Five will be back by then. If they do get the system back up and running, then, yeah, they can absolutely use the Waiting Room to pull a backup of Magneto from the past. They only reason they haven't is because it would have disrespected his wishes.

I've been kinda playing with the idea that Wanda could use the Waiting Room herself to resurrect the confirmed dead mutants from the Gala, and that's how we get new X-Men elects back early.
