Clint choked on his eggnog as Steve slid into the rec room in socks, arms stretched wide and reindeer antlers on his head. Apparently, singing ability had been beneath the serum’s pay grade.

“I don’t cARE ABOUT THe presents …”

Tony hid a smile behind his juice drink as Steve swung his hips, trying to retain the irritation of ten seconds ago.

“You not gonna blast him, Tony?” Clint muttered, as Steve did an exaggerated squat and gestured violently at the presents ‘underneath the Christmas tree’.

“You put it on, this still falls under ‘your fault’,” Tony said out of the corner of his mouth, as Steve slapped a palm passionately over his heart, eyes closed and head thrown back.

“I juST want you for my owwwwn, mORE than you could ever knowww …”

“What the Christ,” Bruce asked, coming in with a plate of chocolate liqueurs.

“Just Steve,” Clint said, “although I can see the confusion.”

“ALL I want for Christmas … iiiiiiiiiiiiiIIIiiisss …”

Tony put his screwdriver down in defeat, looking up expectantly.

It was once again a picture, titled: “I was dreaming of a white Christmas. And you.”

Heart thumping heavily, Bucky tapped the screen to enlarge it. And softly whined to himself.

There was Steve on his screen, bleary eyed and hair all mussed up from the fluffy white pillows around him. Blinking into the camera of his phone and smiling softly. Naked chest and strong biceps on display where the heavy duvet had slipped down to lay around his waist.

The one where Bucky and Steve are childhood best friends and maaaybe something more, but they never really had that relationship talk. And now Steve was away during the holiday season, leaving Bucky to miserably pine and whine over his messages from abroad. An Advent Calender Fic.

MARVEL HOLIDAY SWAP || If only he had been a better son, they wouldn’t have felt the urgency to leave. If only he had been a better boss, Stane wouldn’t have tried to kill him. If only he had been a better fiancé Pepper wouldn’t have called the engagement off. Tony wouldn’t have been happy either, it took him a lot of time to understand that; and Stephen made a great show of what really love someone meant, though Tony couldn’t stop thinking about the moment he would have let Strange down.
