Hello everyone! This is the 12th cast intro, so with this we’ve finished the second round of cast intros.  #12 is Maruyama Naoyuki, who plays Izumino Hajime, the older of the twins on Kakyoin’s team.

Maruyama, who is a very cheerful person, always looks like he’s having fun (even during parkour lessons). At the first parkour lesson he made friends with Ohashi, who plays his younger brother, and the next day they went to Animate together☆

Maruyama also wrote this in his message, but it’s worth repeating: the two of them have a lot in common. It seems they really hit it off and became good friends! They’ve mastered playing twins. Be excited to see that!  

Now, here’s a message from Maruyama!

Hi everyone! it’s nice to meet you! I’m Maruyama Naoyuki and I play Izumino Hajime from Kakyoin!

We’re Purisuto’s twins, the Izumino brothers! You won’t be able to tell which is which from a glance, but the one wearing the blue neck warmer is the older brother, Izumino Hajime! Don’t forget ^ ^

Since we play twins, I wouldn’t have a role if it weren’t for Ohashi Noriyuki who plays the younger twin (Izumino Ryo). Thank you for being born!

オーバーロード

Overlord is a trapped-in-a-videogame adjacent style isekai light novel series written by Kugane Maruyama and illustrated by so-bin.  The anime adaptation, which started airing July 2015, was directed by Naoyuki Ito, written by Yukie Sugawara, and produced by Madhouse.

At the end of the life of the deep dive MMO known as Yggdrasil, avid player and guild-leader, known in-game as Momonga, stays logged in until the servers shut down.  Once they do however, instead of being booted off, his whole guild hall is teleported to a mysterious land where only some of the game’s rules apply and NPCs become full-fledged people.

Because this is a typical fantasy isekai, I was not really expecting it to incorporate airplanes in any significant way, we don’t even get any time in the real world, which might have been interesting considering that it takes place some hundred years in the future.  Overlord, however, managed to disappoint me even more than I was expecting.  I figured it might at least have some flying mounts, but instead characters that don’t have wings just cast a fly spell and float around.  And even that’s mostly reserved for fight scenes after the first couple episodes.

Overlord gets itself a big, fat zero airplanes out of five, and a begrudging participation ribbon.

At a recent marathon livestream, it was announced that a 4th season of the anime adaptation of Kugane Maruyama and So-bin’s Overlord…

A trailer has been released for the upcoming second season of "Overlord" ^_^

For those who have never heard of this series, "Overlord" (anime) is based on the light novel series written by Kugane Maruyama and illustrated by so-bin

Taking place in the Dive Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game or DMMORPG called Yggdrasil, a lone player named Momonga, guildmaster of Ainz Ooal Gown (one of the strongest guilds in the game) waits alone in his guild as the clock counts down towards the game's server shutdown, wanting to stay in his beloved game until the end

However, when he opens his eyes after the end, he finds himself still in the game, though with several differences, including NPC who act like living, normal beings and the fact that he can't log off or even call up a help menu

At first shocked, Momonga decides to explore this new world... and perhaps even dominate it

The light novel was adapted into a manga (ongoing) by Satoshi Ōshio and Hugin Miyama, followed by a 13 episode anime series by Madhouse (2015) as well as an OVA called "Overlord: Ple Ple Pleiades" (2016) and lastly two compilation anime films - "The Undead King" (Feb 2017) and "The Dark Warrior" (Mar 2017)

Once more directed by Naoyuki Itou, season 2 will be out January 2018

Overlord, confermati quarta stagione dell’anime e nuovo film

Madhouse si prepara a portare al cinema l’Holy Kingdom Arc della popolare fantasy novel creata da Kugane Maruyama.

Durante una live speciale, alla quale hanno partecipato Satoshi Hino, Yumi Hara e Sumire Uesaka, i doppiatori di Momonga, Albedo e Shalltear, è stata confermata la produzione di una quarta stagione di “Overlord”. Oltre al prossimo ritorno della serie in tv è stato annunciato anche l’arrivo di un nuovo film d’animazione, che andrà ad adattare l’arco narrativo Sei Okoku-hen (Holy Kingdom Arc). 

Per il momento non sono state fissate delle finestre di debutto per i due progetti, ma sappiamo che i nuovi episodi della serie animata, tratta dalla popolare light novel fantasy isekai firmata da Kugane Maruyama, saranno diretti ancora una volta da Naoyuki Itou (No Guns Life, Kanon) presso lo studio MADHOUSE (Chihayafuru, Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card, A Place Further Than The Universe). 

Momonga è un leggendario campione di Yggdrasil, videogame fantasy la cui popolarità è in declino e che sta per chiudere i battenti. Quando sta per scoccare l’ora del mondo virtuale in cui ha riversato anni della sua vita, Momonga decide di non disconnettersi, e… improvvisamente ogni cosa intorno a lui prende vita. Adesso che ha la scelta di rimanere a vivere in un universo dove è un guerriero temuto e rispettato, dagli enormi poteri, cosa deciderà di fare? È giunto il momento del trionfo del Re Non-Morto!

L’anime è stato portato ufficialmente in Italia da Yamato Video, che ha trasmesso in simulcast tutte e tre le stagioni, andate in onda rispettivamente nell’estate del 2015, nell’inverno 2018 e nell’estate dello stesso anno. Al momento, è disponibile in streaming sul canale Yamato Animation solo la terza stagione, sottotitolata in italiano.

La light novel inizialmente serializzata come romanzo web nel settembre 2010, ha iniziato la sua pubblicazione sotto l'etichetta Enterbrain nel luglio 2012. Attualmente l’opera conta 14 volumi, corredati delle illustrazioni da parte di so-bin; da quanto annunciato dall’autore, il numero 17 concluderà la storia. 

Un adattamento manga, disegnato da Fugin Miyama, viene serializzato sulla rivista Comp Ace dal novembre 2014. Sia il romanzo che il fumetto sono editi in Italia da J-POP Manga.
