The Memory of the Air
Fino al 4 giugno il Museo di Fotografia Contemporanea di Cinisello Balsamo presenta The Memory of the Air, un lavoro di Alessandro Laita e Chiaralice Rizzi, realizzato tra il 2019 e il 2021, poi entrato a far parte delle collezioni del Museo. Il progetto e la mostra, a cura di Gabi Scardi, nascono dall’incontro tra i due artisti, interessati al tema dell’archivio fotografico,  e il Museo Nazionale di Fotografia Marubi di Scutari, che con il suo patrimonio di immagini testimonia un secolo di storia albanese. Laita e Rizzi hanno svolto una ricerca sul territorio che, dalle immagini presenti nelle collezioni del Museo, ha coinvolto la comunità̀, unendo l’archivio con lo spazio privato delle abitazioni, si è sviluppata in una narrazione visiva e verbale e ha preso la forma di una serie di 10 stampe fotografiche e di un’installazione audio-spaziale. Pietro Marubi, cittadino italiano trasferitosi in Albania per motivi politici e naturalizzato albanese, aveva avviato a Scutari il primo studio fotografico del paese e, grazie ai suoi successori,  la fototeca Marubi fu attiva dal 1856, anno di fondazione, fino alla metà del 1900. Fortunosamente sottratto alla distruzione durante il regime di Enver Hoxha, un nucleo di stampe e negativi ha consentito negli ultimi anni alla comunità̀ albanese di ritrovare la  traccia fotografica dei propri antenati e scoprire aspetti perduti della loro vita privata e collettiva. Interessati a questa risorsa, Chiaralice Rizzi e Alessandro Laita hanno una lunga ricerca nell’area di Scutari e Tirana con il fine di individuare la presenza, nelle abitazioni, di fotografie di famiglia scattate da Pietro Marubi, dai suoi successori e da altri fotografi il cui lavoro è confluito nell’archivio. A partire dalle fotografie rinvenute, nell’ambito di momenti di incontro organizzati, Rizzi e Laita hanno raccolto dagli abitanti, e se possibile dai protagonisti stessi delle foto, una serie di memorie e il loro intervento artistico ha preso la forma di una serie di fotografie degli ambienti, per lo più domestici, in cui gli scatti di Marubi sono conservati e di un’installazione sonora realizzata a partire dalle narrazioni raccolte. Registrando sia la presenza delle fotografie negli interni, interpretati come archivi viventi, che le narrazioni, la mostra costituisce una sorta di affresco condiviso diffuso composto di memorie personali all’intersezione tra immagine e parola, passato e presente, privato e pubblico, soggettivo e collettivo. Laddove la storia ufficiale mostra il racconto in una versione univoca, Laita e Rizzi fanno emergere sfaccettature, contraddizioni e aspetti inaspettati, spesso taciuti. L’incontro dei due artisti con il Museo Marubi risale a un periodo di residenza, sostenuta dal bando Nctm e l’arte: Artists-in-Residence, presso la Art House di Scutari. The Memory of the Air è stato realizzato grazie al sostegno dell’Italian Council, programma di promozione internazionale dell’arte italiana della Direzione Generale Creatività̀ Contemporanea del Ministero della Cultura, presentato da AFOL Metropolitana con la scuola Bauer, in collaborazione con il Museo Marubi di Scutari. L’installazione è poi confluita nella collezione del Museo di Fotografia Contemporanea e il  libro d’artista edito da A+MBookstore contiene i testi in italiano, inglese e albanese, di Gabi Scardi, Lucia Nadin e dei due artisti, oltre a trenta racconti dei depositari delle immagini. My triplets are Milo, Minoru & Marubi @twinklephoenix Just noticed Fika is the only girl out of them XD bless her.
Now thinking about it technically there are two more sets of triplets we have 1 extra set @missladytale has and another that i do. But I cant say for sure they would count since im sure not born on the same day. But I could always be wrong.
