'Quantum Leap' Showrunners Talk Hannah's Return And Their Love For Fan Theories
Quantum Leap was one of the few series that was able to complete their entire season before both the Writers and Actors’ strikes. Since the series was renewed early on, showrunners Martin Gero and Dean Georgaris and their team were quick to write up the next season.  Continue reading Untitled

“You kinda very severely hinted that you and–”
“My fella back home might’ve been–”
“Exactly. Mr. Jack O’Neill.”
“Not to name names.”
“Oh, that’s what it…”
“Yeah, it was incredibly not subtle.”

So here's what Stargate Atlantis: The Official Companion Season 3 has to say about Sunday:
"It's more complicated than anyone will ever know," says writer Martin Gero of why the decision was taken to kill off Carson Beckett. "It wasn't like, 'Hey, let's kill somebody!' It was for numerous, incredibly complex reasons, having to do with the show overall."
*cough* Ratings *cough*
For a long time, Gero had wanted to see the characters of Stargate: Atlantis in a situation very different from the perils they usually face. He wanted to see them during 'down time'; relaxing, enjoying each other's company and generally having a life not plagued by danger.
Martin Gero, the writer we deserve.
"For a couple of years Martin had wanted to do an episode about a day off," recalls executive producer Brad Wright, "a non-urgent mission. And I said 'Well, I love that as the backdrop...and then something incredibly dramatic happens!' Because I don't think the audience wants to watch anyone sleeping. A day off that is un-dramatic and does not have a huge event centered around it is not going to be that good."
Listen. I don't know about anyone else but I know this is mine and many fan-fic writers' dream. I want to see every bit of a characters life. I would've watched 15 episodes about the characters having lunch and playing board games and hanging out. There is literally nothing more I want to see than my favorite characters having a good time. Just say it's for the ratings, don't try and put this on the audience. Alright, enough of my interjection back to the book.
"I had been pitching this day off episode forever," says Gero. "Brad said, 'This is a dangerous place. There are no days off in Atlantis.'"
Again, bullshit but I'll hold my tongue.
Then there's a bit about how they decided to write things and film things and the different processes they went through. Then more from Martin Gero at the end:
"Usually when we show the director's cut of shows up here [in the production office], it goes through the gauntlet of people making fun of it. That's harsh, but it's an important part of the process because you need to know what doesn't work. And the more vocal your audience, the better, so that when the producers go down to do the final cut, we can try to make the episode better. That started, and then for the last three acts there was really complete silence. When the lights came up, I turned around and Brad was crying. Everyone was just very somber. It was awful that we had to do it, but Brad thinks it's the best episode of Atlantis, period."
No one made you do this!! In fact, we all would've liked very much if you hadn't done it!
After the breakdown of each episode, there's a little report on each main cast character and a blurb about the recurring cast as well as sections about the making of the show. Here's some from Carson's report:
McGillion reveals that whatever shock the audience felt when they learned of Beckett's demise, it was nothing to his own. "It was absolutely not my decision to leave the show," he says plainly, remembering how he heard the news. "We shot 'Phantoms' on location. We came back for one day to finish the episode on the stage, and one of the ADs asked me to go up to the office because [executive producer N.] John Smith wanted to talk to me. I thought, okay, maybe they saw the dailies for 'Phantoms' and they're really happy with my work. Maybe they want to say, 'You did a good job,'" he recalls. "I did not see it coming at all. We went to Brad's office and it was myself, John, Brad, and Robert. I have to have respect for what they did - they called me to the office and told me in person that they wanted to shake things up with the show and unfortunately they had to kill a character off. It had to be somebody of significance so that the fans would have a reaction to it. And my number came up. I was shocked, to be honest with you, and I was disappointed because I love working on the show and I've had some great relationships with the cast and crew."
Wanted. to. Shake. Things. Up.
For McGillion, filming Beckett's final episode after three years of working with the same cast and crew was, understandably, not easy. "It was very difficult to shoot, especially that last scene with David."
Stop I'm crying again 😭
Then it's talking for a bit about how Paul had to come back to film a bit after 'Sunday' and that the last things he filmed were for 'The Ark.'
"I forget exactly what the scene was. I was kind of blurred that day because I knew it was my last day and no one else did," the actor recalls. "I didn't want anyone else to know because I'm somewhat like Beckett, I wear my heart on my sleeve and I didn't want to get emotional. Martin [Wood] shot 'The Ark', and [he and] Alex Pappas, who is the greatest AD that we have, were going to make a little announcement: 'This is a wrap on Paul for the show.' I asked Alex not to do that, because I just couldn't deal with that at that point in time. I didn't even tell the cast. We shoot so much out of sequence that no one knows when it's someone's last day. So I left and I saw Rachel [Luttrell] and told her. David had left [so] I called him to let him know. The next night all the cast went out for dinner, so that was nice. It's tough, but I'd rather just go out quietly."
Real life Carson Beckett, I love him so much 🥺
But that's about what it says on the episode. I know people have been saying this forever but I like to get it from the source as well. I am even angrier now than I was before which I truly did not think was possible.
If you like behind the scenes stuff, I think this is a great book! I'm going to follow along when I do my Atlantis watch-through, there's a lot of great stuff in here. Would recommend if you can get your hands on it, even if it does make you extremely angry at times. 😂

What’s the deal with Eliza Taylor’s Quantum Leap character Hannah Carson? (Spoilers ahead)
Taylor made her first appearance in Wednesday’s episode of the NBC drama as Hannah, a brilliant waitress in 1949 who studied mathematics and physics and previously had a job during World War II working on the first electromechanical computer.
She formed a special connection with Ben, and he later referred her to a professor at Princeton on the verge of opening his new physics program to female candidates — essentially helping Hannah follow her dreams. When Ben tried to say goodbye, though, she insisted they leave it as “See you later,” which “leaves an open door” for them to meet again.
Given that Taylor has been added as a series regular this season, we know that this won’t be the last time she appears. So, what does that mean for the character? Could she be a fellow leaper? Co-showrunner Martin Gero refutes that theory.
“I think you get to see a different dimension of [Eliza] than her character on The 100,” Gero tells TVLine. “She is phenomenal, but she is not a time traveler.”

Finally, it's here! The Magical Boy Bracket round 1! Polls will start being posted hopefully some time this week, with one post every 5 minutes.
Polls will last one week. Any losers for this round will be sent to the losers bracket the week after.
Please be reminded of this very important rule when reblogging or commenting on posts: "Don't be an asshole to me or to anyone else in this tournament, and please no excessive hate towards a specific character or source material. Otherwise, you will be blocked."
Text version for easier understanding under the cut! Has full names of characters, alter ego names where it applies, as well as source titles! (Some longer titles are shown in full the first time they appear, but are then shortened the in their next appearances (which will also be done for the polls). I know Scott's mentioned that he doesnt have as much rights over the midnighters trilogy as his other works for 'boring reasons' so I checked the copyright holder on my copy and it lists him along with alloy entertainment, so googling alloy entertainment midnighters led me to this article
Which looks like they're looking to make the series as shitty as possible lmao? Hi look at this
on their 29th birthday, an estranged brother and sister discover they’re Midnighters, a chosen few born at the stroke of midnight, with access to a magical 25th hour each day that their kind can use to dramatic, comedic and poignant advantage. Ultimately, they learn their destiny is to protect the world from an ancient evil that has been trapped inside the 25th hour for centuries and is about to break free.
Scott mentioned on his blog one of the reasons he doesnt think a tv series with the characters aged up will work is because midnight is significantly less mysterious when youre in your late twenties
But also these siblings are, I am assuming, twins because they're celebrating their bday at the same time, but they cant both be midnighters as even twins will come out a bit of time apart? Two flamebringers? And if they're estranged that would also imply they dont live in the same place but such a huge chunk of the lore of the series depends on everyone being in the same place?
Whatever man!!

It was announced that House of the Dragon will end with season 4, and I've seen some mixed reactions. I'm actually happy it ends there. I genuinely can't stand shows that go on for too long because eventually you lose the plot, and it's all a money grab. If four seasons can do Fire & Blood justice just as George RR Martin said, then it should be four seasons. I can only hope that this means the showrunners can write the entire fucking thing since the end is in sight.
I will happily watch all four. And then rewatch it until I die. And then when I'm all old and withered, my grandkids will be staring at my lil Aemond Funko pop and be like, "Grandma, you have a problem, please let it go." Then I'll have my little tantrum and say, "Over my dead body, CHILDREN. GEROS ILAS."

Endless List of Why I Ship Jane & Kurt - Part 2 (by @kate-dammit-run)
(re-posting to preserve this list, which was originally created and posted by @kate-dammit-run, whose account was deactivated in 2023)
53. Because he doesn’t care what anyone says, she is not a killer 54. Because she never meant to fall in love 55. Because she is more than just one mistake (and so is he) 56. Because there’s something between them even if he doesn’t know what it is 57. Because she beat him up the stairs and rubbed it in his face 58. Because she was scared out of her mind when the door shut and she heard the gun shots 59. Because she was never just a case to him 60. Because no matter what she will make sure he will come home to his family 61. Because has absolutely no chill when he’s worried about her 62. Because he will miss her if something happened to her 63. Because they are two thirds of Rich and the Feds 64. Because when they’re not together the chemistry on the team is all off 65. Because she went to see his dying father just to it easier on him 66. Because he took a chance on her 67. Because he always needs her by his side 68. Because the polygraph knew he lied about her 69. Because when everyone thought she was the mole he still fought for her 70. Because he knows Jane 71. Because he’s her someone special 72. Because she can totally kick his ass (and he knows it) 73. Because she has his phone number memorized 74. Because he wouldn’t let her say goodbye when she thought she’d never see him again 75. Because he would never believe that she would betray the team 76. Because all she cares about is his safety 77. Because she gets to tease him about him being stubborn and he lets her 78. Because she gets to tease him about his cooking and he lets her 79. Because he’ll get her back before they shut down Sandstorm for good 80. Because she just needs to say the word and he’ll be there
Martin Gero Reasons
81. Because they are uniquely capable of understanding each other in a way that nobody else can. -MG 82. Because they’re going to be ok those two. -MG 83. Because they have a bond that is hard to break. -MG 84. Jane and Kurt’s relationship is always gonna be the emotional driving force for the show. -MG 85. Because they have an indelible bond that we’re never going to tamper with. -MG 86. Because Martin Gero ships them!
Rich Dotcom Reasons!
(because he’s the captain of our ship and we must respect him)
87. Because they’re so badass 88. Because they keep him focused 89. Because they sold being a married couple to one of the smartest conmen in the world 90. Because, holy derby, they look good 91. Because they had some serious chemistry in the Hamptons 92. Because  every time something goes wrong, or goes right for that matter, Kurt looks at Jane 93. Because when Kurt talks to Jane it looks pretty intense 94. Because life’s too short and they should just tell each other how they feel 95. Because the chemistry is all off when they’re on the outs 96. Because the emotional distance is unbearable 97. Because Kurt is clearly still in love with her but he’s just confused 98. Because Kurt has the brawn and Jane has everything else 99. Because the three of them can take down anybody they wanted 100. Because they’re his favorite couple

Quantum Leap Season 2
The opening of Quantum Leap Season 2 shows what executive producer Martin Gero told TV Insider after the Season 1 finale in April: that Ben, while he does have his memories back, does not return home. Rather, his next leap takes him somewhere over Russia in 1978, on a plane, and the others on board are played by Melissa Roxburgh (Manifest), François Arnaud (Midnight Texas), Aaron Abrams (Blindspot), and P.J. Byrne (The Boys).
The five of them are transporting some sort of artifact (shipped out of Germany), and while some do wonder about it (and why the Air Force has them posing as civilians), Arnaud’s character doesn’t think they should care about what’s inside. His focus is making the delivery and getting out of the military purgatory he’s been stuck in for five years. Roxburgh’s sees it as a ticket out of dead-end, long-haul supply missions; after they hand it off, they can get what they all want, like going home for the person Ben leapt into. (Ben can relate.)

So how far have you gotten into Resident Alien? Just finished the season 3 finale last week and it was nuts. No news yet about the show being renewed but the way it ended, it really needs to be. I binge-watched Revenge and after the first season it was a convoluted soapy mess. Rewatched The LA Complex for the third time (highly recommend, especially if you're a fan of Martin Gero - former Stargate producer/writer who's done a bunch of other shows but this one is my favorite of his). Also trying to watch the first season of Heroes - I hated it when it was first on and couldn't get past the first few episodes. Trying again and I still find it to be dull and boring, like a terrible X-Men ripoff (even their powers are just like the X-Men lol), couldn't care less about any of the characters except Hiro and Ando who are adorable and funny. Why this show was such a hit is beyond me when I'm struggling to even remember to keep watching it lol. I want to finish the first season at least but if I had nothing else to watch then I wouldn't bother. Anyone watching anything good?
On ep 4 xD As i repeated a few times before, i have a problem with finishing shows when I don't binge them xD But still loving it. So don't ask why I'm not watching. I DON'T KNOW
I'm rewatching Band of Brothers (I'm on the point when I can recognize random soldiers by the shape of their ears, lol). And me and bunch of friends are watching Once Upon a Time.
Tbh, I'm more into books right now (currently reading - 10).
If anyone is into hmm, The Office in historical Poland I recommend a show called 1670 - dunno if you can get all the jokes, but it's super cool. The only Polish show i can recommend without cringing xD

"The hard part about the show is when you have a great guest star that has a great connection with Ben, you'll never see them again. Like it's impossible to have recurring guest stars in the past. And I think we've figured out how to have a recurring guest star in the past with none other than the illustrious and luminous Eliza Taylor." - Martin Gero, Quantum Leap showrunner (x)
