Martin Buday takes split decision over Andrei Arlovski in boring fight.

Arlovski catches another 300,000+ check for a medium paced sparring session. Love that for him. But with even commentary starting to get on him and him being on the early prelims now, we might be reaching the end of the Arlovski sparring session era. Sad.

Shamil Gaziev stops Martin Buday in the 2nd!

Gaziev kicks off his UFC career with a one sided beating. Buday ran into a guy bigger than him and just could not muscle him around when Gaziev. He cut Buday open in the first round right below his left eye brow. Could not have been in a worse location and it was bleeding down into his eye. He convinced the doctor to keep going but you could tell it bothered him. He eventually folded, getting stuck along the fence as Gaziev piled it on. Ref stopped the fight.

It appears that Andrei Arlovski’s 42nd octagon appearance will be the final one in the promotion. A person with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that Arlovksi’s split decision loss to Martin Buday at UFC 303 this past Saturday was the final fight on the former heavyweight champion’s contract, and that Arlovski will not be re-signing with the UFC.
