Team Italy camp for junior Mediterranean Championships 2018:
GIULIA COTRONEO MARTA MORABITO GIULIA MESSALI MICOL MINOTTI
[x]
I didn’t even know this competition was a thing but I’m happy to see the 2004-2005 girls are getting some assignments.
Giulia Cotroneo (2004) is a really promising AAer even tho beam and floor are her strongest events for now (her twisting form is great btw). Marta Morabito (2005) has an interesting beam with a “layout” full (it’s progressively verging on the pike/tuck lol but it’s great that she’s competing it already). Giulia Messali (2005) is a bit messy in general but I fell in love with her floor choreo in Jesolo, it’s different and she presents it really well. Micol Minotti (2004) is from Grisetti’s club and even tho her D is still on the low side, she has some gorgeous flexibility and hyperextension which I hope she won’t lose entirely as she grows up (she’s very smol).

Serie A 2018 - Arezzo
Some highlights:
- Marta Morabito (2005) from Olos Gym (Basile, Ciammarughi) competed a roundoff layout full on beam (fought for it but fell)
- Alessia Federici (2004) debuted a FTY on VT
- Caterina Cereghetti debuted a double front UB dismount
- Lara Mori mounted beam with a bhs (can’t remember if it’s new) and added back the triple twist dismount (5.8D). She also nailed a nice FX for 14.050 (full in, 2.5 punch front lay, triple, double pike)
- Alice D’Amato added the shap half transition, but counted a fall on UB. Hit beam but step oob on triple twist dismount.
- Giorgia Villa did AA (cause what is taking it slow after injury??): great UB (5.9D). Solid BB (only double twist dismount tho), good FX and back with a DTY on VT.
- Asia D’Amato hit everything nicely, with an awesome DTY (apparently, I didn’t see it), 15.050 with 328543756 bonuses but like it sounds like it was good.
- Elisa Iorio added the shap half on UB but fell on it.
- Carlotta Ferlito (who only resumed training one month ago after taking a 4-month time off from the gym) only competed beam. Relatively easy routine, but well executed. 12.650 no bonuses.
- Elisa Meneghini competed the roundoff-layout full and hit it with a big balance check. Nice yurchenko 1.5 on VT. Got through bars and fell on her double arabian on FX (DLO, double arabian, full in, double pike).
Apart from that: falls. FALLS EVERYWHERE.
That’s all.

Marta Morabito (2005), who competed for the first time with the Italian national team at Jesolo 2017 in the “hopes” group, is working on what looks like a (really high) layout full on beam! She trains at the Rome academy with Martina Basile and Sara Berardinelli. [x]
