tell me about solisverse galar!!! (bats my eyes at you)

OK SO LIKE. Im gonna talk about the main cast because thats the group Im insane crazy about. the defining motif for galar is worthiness! as I mentioned earlier. this manifests in different ways for everyone

for example hop is mainly worried about being worthy enough to live up to his brothers name, marnie wants to prove her worth enough that spikemuth stops getting overlooked, bede attempts to prove her worth to chairman rose so he knows he didnt make a mistake choosing to sponsor her for the gym challenge

and for gloria she already thinks shes "worthy" of the champion title and all the praise that comes with it (spoilers. no shes not) and victor... well. he's actually the opposite to everyone else in the way that he is kind of Aware he's supposed to be the Worthy, chosen hero but he is trying VERY hard to avoid that destiny

OH I HAVE THOUGHTS ON GALAR. I dont remember if Ive talked about it before so sorry if Im repeating myself on anything BUT basically galars overarching theme for the main cast is like. worthiness. where they derive their own self worth from and stuff along those lines

and like. for most of them it boils down to being Recognized by others. bede w chairman rose, marnie (as spikemuth’s proxy) w the league, hop w his parents and leon and tbh just in general

gloria and victor are a little different though. gloria is a super duper ambitious bright-eyed girl who looks up to the heroes depicted in fantasy stories and wants to be like them, and victor is. well. he has no real ambitions of his own but gloria’s enthusiasm is so infectious his thing is that his dreams are hers. if gloria is an actor in a play he’s the stagehand directing the spotlight to shine on her

victor ties his worth directly to gloria’s success, who wants to.. live up to fantastical stories of dubious possibility. nothing will go wrong here nope
