Madelyne Pryor, Havok, Zero and Carmen Cruz are looking for Marisol Guerra the reclusive young mutant of Mexico, to recruit her into the team. As Madelyne's group reach the fungi-ridden hideout, they get sprayed by fungi spores which put them to sleep. Carmen Cruz was the only mutant who managed to save herself from breathing the spores by using her shape-shifting powers to make herself a mask to cover her nose. Havok, Zero and Madelyne are dreaming in their spore-induced slumber while Carmen is left alone to explore the place herself. However, no one knew that the Bamf-Dragon (which was sent by Alternate-Goblin Queen) is stalking them. Carmen Cruz explores the village until she finds Marisol Guerra is hiding in the place with the mutant villagers. Carmen tries to befriend Marisol but the latter is wary of her. Meanwhile, Madelyne wakes up and finds herself attacked by the Bamf-Dragon so she telepathically wakes Havok and Zero up from their slumber. Havok and Madelyne are trying to fight off the Bamf-Dragon while Zero is having fun with the creature. Havok and Madelyne try to hit the Bamf-Dragon but it teleports away. Back to the heart of the village, Carmen Cruz is talking to Marisol Guerra when they get attacked by the Bamf-Dragon. Carmen Cruz shapeshifts herself to a more feral form to defend Marisol and the villagers. Unfortunately, because of the Bamf-Dragon's attack and the arrival of Madelyne's group, Marisol and the villagers are having none of it so she tells them to leave the place.

my, uh, strangetown sim ethnicity headcanons (using real world location names and not the sims world equivalents)
the beakers and halfdanarsons are white. specifically the beakers were swedish, while leif was danish and ingibjorg was icelandic. the salamis were greek with arabic ancestry. the mcgorks were irish, moira was white while gwrtheyrn was black.
the muendas were meru kenyans who immigrated to simerica and the specter family is moroccan. since i prefer the name "ophelia specter" i like to reinterpret the nigmos family as specters and ichabod's family, making them also moroccan.
the grunts are latine - rock and wanda were mestizo colombians. family name was originally guerra, changed to grunt when they immigrated to america. mary melons was white and descended from french immigrants, but had no personal ties to france.
mike steel was a white latino mexican american. he had a white dad and a mexican mom. that ones based on me thinking donnovan steel and marisol loera were his parents until i realized they were contemporary with darren dreamer, lol! oopsies!
the curious & wheloff families are black americans - they don't really have any known ties to any other location besides the simericas - and hamm hogleg was a moapa native american, while his wife annie was white (hence 2 of their 4 grandkids being white passing in a vanilla game)
glarn's ex-wife glabe, on the other hand, was filipina.
the loners and frehndlys being indian is just canon. i dont have headcanons that elaborate on this further, though.
the loste family were originally from seychelles, or the sims equivalent, thus creole with largely east african and indian heritage. the simnitch family were slavic diaspora americans.
crystal vu is vietnamese american. bleaches her hair blonde but naturally has black hair. and dr. vu is her dad and also vietnamese.
blair mace is mixed race japanese american. dad (larry mace) is white american, and his mom (mystery) was japanese american.

Libby Spotlight: eAudiobook Fiction Picks for Hispanic Heritage Month
L.A. Weather by María Amparo Escandón (read by Frankie Corzo)
L.A. is parched, dry as a bone, and all Oscar, the weather-obsessed patriarch of the Alvarado family, desperately wants is a little rain. He’s harboring a costly secret that distracts him from everything else. His wife, Keila, desperate for a life with a little more intimacy and a little less Weather Channel, feels she has no choice but to end their marriage. Their three daughters—Claudia, a television chef with a hard-hearted attitude; Olivia, a successful architect who suffers from gentrification guilt; and Patricia, a social media wizard who has an uncanny knack for connecting with audiences but not with her lovers—are blindsided and left questioning everything they know. Each will have to take a critical look at her own relationships and make some tough decisions along the way.
With quick wit and humor, Maria Amparo Escandón follows the Alvarado family as they wrestle with impending evacuations, secrets, deception, and betrayal, and their toughest decision yet: whether to stick together or burn it all down.
Next Year in Havana by Chanel Cleeton (read by Kyla Garcia)
After the death of her beloved grandmother, a Cuban-American woman travels to Havana, where she discovers the roots of her identity--and unearths a family secret hidden since the revolution...
Havana, 1958. The daughter of a sugar baron, nineteen-year-old Elisa Perez is part of Cuba's high society, where she is largely sheltered from the country's growing political unrest--until she embarks on a clandestine affair with a passionate revolutionary...
Miami, 2017. Freelance writer Marisol Ferrera grew up hearing romantic stories of Cuba from her late grandmother Elisa, who was forced to flee with her family during the revolution. Elisa's last wish was for Marisol to scatter her ashes in the country of her birth.
Arriving in Havana, Marisol comes face-to-face with the contrast of Cuba's tropical, timeless beauty and its perilous political climate. When more family history comes to light and Marisol finds herself attracted to a man with secrets of his own, she'll need the lessons of her grandmother's past to help her understand the true meaning of courage.
This is the first volume of "The Perez Family" series.
Olga Dies Dreaming by Xóchitl González (read by Almarie Guerra)
It's 2017, and Olga and her brother, Pedro "Prieto" Acevedo, are bold-faced names in their hometown of New York. Prieto is a popular congressman representing their gentrifying Latinx neighborhood in Brooklyn while Olga is the tony wedding planner for Manhattan's powerbrokers.
Despite their alluring public lives, behind closed doors things are far less rosy. Sure, Olga can orchestrate the love stories of the 1%, but she can't seem to find her own...until she meets Matteo, who forces her to confront the effects of long-held family secrets...
Twenty-seven years ago, their mother, Blanca, a Young Lord-turned-radical, abandoned her children to advance a militant political cause, leaving them to be raised by their grandmother. Now, with the winds of hurricane season, Blanca has come barreling back into their lives.
Set against the backdrop of New York City in the months surrounding the most devastating hurricane in Puerto Rico's history, Olga Dies Dreaming is a story that examines political corruption, familial strife and the very notion of the American dream--all while asking what it really means to weather a storm.
The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros (read by Sandra Cisneros)
Acclaimed by critics, beloved by readers of all ages, taught everywhere from inner-city grade schools to universities across the country, and translated all over the world, The House on Mango Street is the remarkable story of Esperanza Cordero.
Told in a series of vignettes – sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes deeply joyous–it is the story of a young Latina girl growing up in Chicago, inventing for herself who and what she will become. Few other books in our time have touched so many readers.

I like Carmen's new codename, Feint. Great name for a shapeshifter. Now if Foxe were to, say, use the return of Marisol Guerra aka Flourish aka Creep (it, like whether her plant powers manifest in the form of growing flowers vs fungi, depends on her mood lol) to have Carmen end this mini having broken up with Buddie and building towards a relationship between Carmen & Marisol instead......I would not be averse to that at all.

Madelyne Pryor is trying her best to treat the wounded Havok (Alex Summers) by using her magic and her telekinesis. Gambit (Remy Lebeau) tries to ask about Havok's health only to get shut out by Madeline as she is too busy to answer. So Gambit has to focus on defusing a conflict between Maggott (Japheth) and Azazel. Neither Maggott nor Gambit trust Azazel but they are forced to work together as reluctant teammates for the sake of survival. Meanwhile, Zero (Kenji Uedo) treats Albert the Robot Wolverine like a new toy.
Before Gambit could talk to Carmen Cruz the new recruit, they see Havok coming into the room with Madeline. Havok appears with a new unhealthy pale color and a wound that seems not to bleed but also not to be sewn close properly. As Havok introduces himself to Carmen, she considers changing her codename from Gimmick to Feint. Then, Madelyne calls up the mutants for a gathering. Madelyne introduces her creepy device to the mutants in the room. The creepy device is the Mercy Crown, which is like Cerebro except that it scans for souls of mutants instead of minds. Madelyne uses the Mercy Crown to scan through the mutants around the globe. There are cameos of Northstar's Resistance group in Canada, Bishop working in the safehouse, Emma Frost pretending to be Tony Stark's new assistant, lonesome Charles Xavier on the ruins of Krakoaland, Wolverine fighting Wendigo, Callisto on the ship, Mystique looking alive and well, and lastly, there's a cameo of Marisol Guerra the young mutant girl from Greg Pak's Storm comic.

Lui gave her a small grin and shrugged, "You forget how we got Marisol? Welcome to the world of soap operas, it's a hell of time. Least all your family drama is in town already, and hey just a cousin right? Imagine if it had been his kid." His brow furrowed as he leaned back in thought, "Does kind of act like the two of ya, so makes sense you get along. Suck if he got stuck here and y'all had blown him off instead." When she brought it back to Marisol he blinked, "Solo hablo Espanol, guerra," he deadpanned before his grin was back, "And that might have something to do with it. Any what is it you call it? Any...observations on that?"
Tumblr media
Zarina offered him a small, appreciative smile, before rolling her eyes at him referring to Jaiden as the Mini Knightley. "Well, I am unsure what the proper protocol is for this particular situation, but so far I would say that it is going well," she replied, picking up another fry and dipping it in her milkshake. "He has been spending a lot of time with Marisol. Is it safe to assume that's why he's been the topic du jour with your family?"
