Le Talebane di Mario Ceroli. Mi colpirono molto ma davanti a loro restai in silenzio quando, nel 2004, lo incontrai a Roma nella sua casa-opificio-museo in via della Pisana. Il grande scultore mi fece visitare il grande laboratorio fermandosi davanti a ogni sua opera. Ero con Luigi Donà dalle Rose e Ceroli ci regalò tanti aneddoti molto interessanti, alcuni davvero curiosi e divertenti. Oggi però, alla luce di quanto sta succedendo, ho il rimpianto di non avere chiesto a Ceroli cosa lo avesse spinto a raffigurare le sue Talebane. NEW IN THE BOOKSHOP: CEROLI KOUNELLIS MAROTTA PASCALI 4 ARTISTES ITALIENS PLUS QUE NATURE (1969) • Beautiful, scarce catalogue published on the occasion of the exhibition "Ceroli Kounellis Marotta Pascali : 4 Artistes Italiens Plus Que Nature" at Musée des Arts Decoratifs, Paris, in 1969. • "Four of the most representative artists of the last season of Italian art, four artists in full activity except, unfortunately, Pino Pascali, who died last year. Despite the brevity of his career, Pascali has given an international contribution to the artistic research of today. It is arbitrary to look for traits and points in common among these artists, even if they are more or less the same trend, so I preferred to draw separate portraits ... " (M. Calvesi, 1969) • Each artist has a profusely illustrated section dedicated to their work, each divided by printed wax title pages, introduced (in French) by Maurizio Calvesi, and closed with an exhibition history and list of works. Black and white photography throughout by Gianni Berengo Gardin, Ugo Mulas, Adele Macchi, Claudio Abate, Andrea Taverna, and silkscreened covers. • Included in ARTE POVERA 1966-1980.
