Ezio Auditore da Firenze!

Don't if this has already been explored before but: Desmond being reborn as Ezio's bastard (the one Clay is supposed to descend from) and everyone's reactions to it. Especially Claudia's and Maria's.

Desmond obviously regains all of his memories. He thinks it's super weird to have his ancestor as his actual father. But quickly realizes he prefers Ezio as a parent to Bill.

Bonus points: things get really confusing after Ezio goes to the Vault

I'm pretty sure there's already a fic like this somewhere in AO3 but the only one I can remember is the one where Altaïr is reborn in Italy and has Desmond as his little brother

So, for this one, we’ll focus on everyone’s reaction to it XD

First of all, we’ll have to think about where to set this. We do not have any confirmation (as far as I know) on when Clay’s ancestor was born but, considering that his memories seemed to focus on AC2, we will set this around the latter part of AC2. My suggestion would be around the time the Brotherhood lost the Apple after giving it to Sforza.

This will give us Ezio finding Desmond during the time he’s looking for the Apple.

Now, for everyone’s reaction:

Maria is still unresponsive around this time but he would move and cradle Desmond when he cries at night because he woke up from a nightmare that may or may not be his. They’re not sure if Maria is truly seeing Desmond or if she’s seeing a ‘memory’ of a child she lost (probably Petruccio).

Claudia doesn’t really pay him much attention, too focus on making sure the numbers are all correct.

When she has free time, she would visit him to ‘take care’ of him while his nanny takes a break. More often that not, she tells him all her complaints in a cutesy baby voice. Desmond is more amused than embarrassed.

Mario absolutely adore him and dotes on him more than enough that Claudia has to cut him off. He doesn’t show it but this is Mario’s way of ‘making up’ for his absence in his brother’s children’s life (whether he did it to keep them safe or because he had a falling out with Giovanni is up to you)

Leonardo is fascinated by him because he is the most mild mannered baby he had ever seen and is willing to stay as still as he could while Leonardo paints him. Desmond is definitely the model of a baby Jesus commission that Leonardo did XD

La Volpe visited him once and only once because it was too dangerous to leave his guild alone and there was really nothing to keep him in Monteriggioni. He slipped inside Desmond’s room at night and left soon after. Desmond thinks that was creepy but just waves it off.

Do you think Templars and Assassins ever run into each other on accident? Like imagine an Assassin going out to a public event and bumping into a Master Templar/Grandmaster. What would you even do in that situation?

Hi! If you want too of course, but do you think you can do some wholesome Auditore family headcanons? (before everything goes to hell). And I like your previous AC headcanons!

And sure, why not?

-Giovanni was a lot like Ezio when he was younger, getting into trouble and of course that lead him to meeting the pretty Maria Mozzi, who did not exactly like him at first

-of course Giovanni liked to say “his charm won her over” but in reality it was because Mario told her that Giovanni liked her because “his brother was being a wuss”

-Giovanni fainted when Maria told him she was pregnant with Federico

-and of course cried when his first son was born

-he was ecstatic when he got a daughter in the form of Claudia

-Petruccio was actually a surprise baby as his parents only planned for three (but still loved him nonetheless)

-I feel like Federico was the type of kid where as soon as Maria got him clean, she’d turn away for five seconds and he’d be dirty

-Maria loves feathers because on the day she met Giovanni, an angry eagle chased him into her bakery, leaving feathers on the floor

-Claudia would drag Federico and Ezio into dress up games when she was younger

-for a period of three weeks, pastries were mysteriously disappearing from the kitchen and Maria was confused and pissed off because they were for a friend’s wedding

-it was her sons

-and safe to say she was unhappy

-Claudia laughed as her brothers were grounded for an entire month

-speaking of Claudia, I’m still SO confused how the hell Giovanni betrothed Claudia to Duccio???? Even if it was seen as the norm at the time, Duccio was just…..ew

-Giovanni must have been wasted or something there IS NO WAY that Giovanni didn’t take one look at Duccio and was like “get tf away from my daughter”

-he definitely went to the De Luca home after Ezio told him Duccio cheated on Claudia and cussed out his entire family

-Claudia and Maria had gossip sessions, I know they did, and Maria would be like “it is rude to gossip” and Claudia is just “ok but did you hear about Isabella” and Maria is listening

-all out on whoever’s birthday it was in the family, no expense was too much

Nightmares

If any of the assassin's understand nightmares, it's these men:

Ezio Auditore da Firenze

Ever since he was 17, he's been plagued by nightmares of his brothers and father's murders. He's always right there and so close...but he never reaches them on time.

When he met her the nightmares began to gradually go away and eventually, they ceased. The last one he ever had seemed to give his mind the closure that he needed.

Ezio had realized that he was in another nightmare and instead of trying to stop what he knew was unstoppable, he closed his eyes and tried to think of his family as they were. Something his love had recommended to calm him. It worked.

He saw his father speaking happily with Frederico and his mother, Maria. He saw Petruccio laughing with Claudia as they fed a few ducks bits of lettuce. He saw Mario grinning at him, congratulating him on his work in training.

It brought him peace to see his family as they once were. As they should have been. If life had been fair. And then he woke up. It was morning and he could see the sun streaming in through the window of his shared bedroom with the one he loves most.

Yet when he turns to greet her, to thank her for her help because it worked...she's not there in their bed. He sits up in alarm searching for her but doesn't have to look far. She's sitting before the fire in her nightgown, slouching in exhaustion.

If she’s scared enough, he’ll play the few chords he learned on the lute for her - although he'll likely become the shyest she'll ever witness him become.

If she wants, he's always willing to 'distract' her in another way if she asks for him too. But his voice is what calms her the most and he tries his best with what he knows comforts her. Ezio will tell her about missions, funny things that the new novices did, the most recent squabbles between La Volpe and Machiavelli.

She laughs when she hears Ezio regal the tale of how La Volpe scared Machiavelli so badly it sent him flailing backwards into a haystack.

Sometimes they talk until the sun rises, a few times they've both distracted each other with a passionate encounter that lasts the entire night, and other times they lay there together whispering softly.

Ezio teaching her Italian to distract her has become commonplace and it warms his heart to hear her speak his native tongue, even if she is plagued by other things. He will take care of her the same way she has always taken care of him.

How could he not after all the blessings she's bestowed upon him? It is the least he can do for her and as long as she wants him to, he will.

Arno Victor Dorian

What doesn't this man have nightmares about? His father, his adopted father, his mentor betraying him, the awful things he's seen throughout the revolution (and at this point it's still not over yet), losing the woman he loved after being abandoned by her twice, it never ends for him.

Sade and his God-awful jokes and sorry excuses of literary prose. But recently a new one has come to him...losing her. He wakes up and his heart hurts from the loss of her in his dream state. His throat hurts from how he screamed in his worst fear come true.

Only to find her sleeping peacefully next to him. Beautiful, safe, and completely unaware of the horrible things he had seen happen to her in his nightmares. From death to Napoleon trying to take her (damn that man for his affections toward HIS woman the connard...)

Not wishing to wake her the French assassin will often leave their shared bed, kissing her forehead gently, and trekking to the kitchen to see if something warm will do the trick.

She always knows when Arno leaves the bed. His presence disappearing wakes her up without fail every time. When she follows him, she finds her sweet snarky assassin in the garden with a cup of cocoa. Padding loudly enough for him to hear she approaches him from behind and wraps the blanket she brought for him around him snugly, kissing his head sweetly.

Every time. Without fail. For as many years as he was plagued with night terrors.

It is unexpected and heartbreaking for Arno to see his love fall apart after the Revolution. For almost their entire lives, she has kept him together without judgement and nothing but patience and love towards him. He's only too happy to return the favor now that she needs him.

He holds her the same way she held him for all those years, murmuring lovingly in French in both things she understands and things she's yet to learn. He tells her about spats with the French council, yet another mistress of de Sade whooping his ass with jewel encrusted slippers, Leon's excellent progress in swordplay (he'll be better than Arno if he doesn't watch out...).

Many stories are funny for her sake to keep things lighthearted and to distract her mind from darker things. It's for Arno too he'll admit. He loves the sound of her laugh and always has.

Reading to her is also something he enjoys. They both love to read and the way she relaxes into his chest to try and focus on the story makes him feel warm inside. They can read for hours or moments before becoming lost in one another, either embracing one another tightly grateful to have survived the Revolution, or Arno will show her just how much he appreciates her...

Either way the nightmares will always be defeated by Monsieur Dorian because he loves her enough to never do anything less.

Ratonhnhake:ton/Connor Kenway

He understands nightmares. He has them too and it took him a long time to be able to calm himself down from them and realize that they were his internal fears manifesting into nightmares. Or sometimes even nothing at all.

He'll tell her stories about his childhood - happier times and even stories of his tribe. Avoiding more tender topics she may even make a lighthearted jab at his father - something to the effect of his tricorn hat being pretentious - which makes the man laugh deeply underneath her.

Ratonhnhake:ton loves how she always knows what to say to make him smile or laugh. He just hopes he can do the same for her for the rest of their lives.

Sometimes they talk about their plans for the next day and what they'll do around the Homestead. She might plan to go foraging and visit Prudence and little Hunter, who is just learning to take his first steps. They both plan take a trip to visit Myriam and Norris after the arrival of their little one, a baby girl named Amara.

He'll mention the plans he has to secure game for their next meal, and she'll bring up where she saw a herd of deer grazing, ask if he has enough arrows and if he needs his dagger sharpened for skinning. The man smiles down at her grateful for her help and thoughtfulness towards him.

The excitement he feels when he hears her plans to bake again. He loves her baking and is sure to let her know anytime she creates something no matter how small or simple. Mulling over the ingredients she'll use and if she should do regular sugar or chocolate chip cookies, she can feel her cheeks warm at the way the assassin looks at her.

Warm and tender. Like she is the only thing tethering him to peace life and loving comfort.

She begins to feel better thinking about how happy her husband will look to come home to fresh baked chocolate chip cookies.

They'll lay there with him speaking softly to her until he realizes that she's drifted back to sleep against his chest. Connor will smile brushing her hair back from her face gently, as he admires the love of his life, before whispering to the peaceful room: "Konnoronhkwa."

Hi! Do you think you can some wholesome headcanons about the Auditore family before everything does to hell? Thank you!

This is going to be disjointed XD

Maria would sometimes cook and her kids used to help her. They learned how to make easy meals because of this.

Ezio learned how to play a lute to impress a girl. Federico was the one who taught him. Federico, on the other hand, learned to play the lute because Maria told him that he should learn to play an instrument so he’d have something to do.

Giovanni used to tell Petruccio stories of adventures from far away places when he was young. Petruccio becomes an avid reader because of those stories and everyone would usually bring him back a story book.

Petruccio read a book that talked about birds and he told Maria all about what he read. This is what started him on his ‘quest’ to bring Maria back feathers.

Claudia has a lot of friends. Almost all of them had a crush on either Ezio or Federico at some point. Many of them had crush on both. Federico and Ezio knows about this and they absolutely use it to tease Claudia.

Maria taught her sons how to dance while Giovanni taught Claudia dancing when they were young. When Ezio and Federico first started dancing, Claudia had been jealous because she was told she was too young. Giovanni danced with her by letting stay on top of his feet while he danced with her.

Claudia is one of the best dancers in Firenze nobility. Federico or Ezio usually escort her and would be her first dance partner.

Ezio once tried to flirt with their maids. Said maids would tell him how they used to bathe him when he was a babe. Federico laughed at Ezio for even trying his luck on their maids.

Federico once chased after a pigeon across the rooftops because he saw it had a strange-looking feather that he wanted to give to Petruccio.

Whenever Giovanni would return from a mission, he would always bring gifts back for his wife and children.

Although it’s been a long time since they visited Mario, Mario would always send gifts for his niece and nephews’ birthdays.

Which Hogwarts Houses do you think the Auditore family belong in? I believe Ezio, Federico, and Mario are Gryffindors. I’m torn between Gryffindor or Hufflepuff for Giovanni. Maria might be a Hufflepuff? For Petruccio I believe either Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff. I don’t know about Claudia but I was thinking Gryffindor or Slytherin.

I was a Percy Jackson kid and only red 1 HP book in my life :p and also I hate the author w my whole heart but imo:

The Auditore household itself is Ravenclaw, they are bankers after all, but the 3older siblings are def Gryffindors.

I think Maria is still a Ravenclaw especially with her making fun of Ezio on some dialogues, she is a too "strong independent woman" to be Hufflepuff... and while I think younger Claudia would be gryf, she could also be Hufflepuff bc of her "boys, fashion, gossip" personality she had early on :3 but as I said I was never into Harry Potter so I dont know the houses that well

• Maria heard screaming and banging coming from upstairs. she ran upstairs to find Ezio & Claudia standing on a table, Desmond & Frederico standing on chairs throwing whatever they could at something--it was a spider. Maria saved the day by killing the spider, she silently judged them and they knew it.

• Ezio used the last of Claudia's hair products. there was a brawl in the living room that Desmond, Frederico, Petruccio and Mario were placing bets on who would win. spoiler, Claudia won.

• to get back at Ezio, Claudia put a little bit of bleach in some of her hair products that were almost all gone knowing Ezio would use it. she almost used Nair, but knew she would feel guilty. him having mis-matched hair wasn't that terrible in her eyes though.

• Desmond has accidentally broken some of Maria's favorite plates & glasses, he panicked not only out of fear but he also felt guilty. Claudia managed to get Maria into believing it was Ezio without Desmond knowing. he was very confused when Ezio was being yelled at in Italian and being dragged away by his ear and yelling "WHAT DID I DO!?"

• Frederico, Ezio & Desmond like to free run on rooftops and even do races sometimes. there was a time where Desmond tripped and fell on his face. Frederico went to help him back up and Ezio laughed, after he got done laughing he ran to help Frederico with Desmond. karma hit Ezio cause he fell through a roof. good luck explaining that.

• Maria asked Desmond to go grocery shopping, she forgot a little too late that Desmond isn't good at reading, let alone speaking Italian. he came back with half of what was needed, a goat and a few chickens. needless to say, he is no longer allowed to go shopping on his own.

• both Giovanni & Maria were terrified of teaching Ezio, Desmond and Claudia how to drive. Claudia has road rage at times, and very little patience. but she is very observant. 7/10. Ezio is too focused on the women either walking around, or driving. he also gets way too into the music he's listening to, speed limit is only 40 mph? what is he doing--80 mph?! 5.3/10, Giovanni's heart has almost stopped on a few occasions. Desmond is just a nervous wreck. speed up or slow down? do I turn my blinker on now--wait do I turn here or farther up? but he is a safe driver overall. 8/10.
