Glass animals!

These real animals have transluscent properties, where their skin is see through and you're able to see their skeleton and insides... of course I tried my best to cutify them for you all!

This is a series of charms that utilises the transparency of the acrylic to make these creatures pop out, and with the addition of double sided epoxy it gives the effect of holding a real animal (pretty weird to experience!)

With 8 designs I'm sure there's some which catch your eye 👀

I spent all day at a big, fat aquarium in hull called ‘the deep’ (other than the 8 hours I (collectively) spent driving to and from it). And it was SO COOL.

"A coral reef with flourishing marine life has been discovered off Ecuador's Galapagos Islands.

A scientific expedition traced the 1.2-mile-long (2km) reef to the top of an underwater mountain formed by volcanic activity - 400m (1,300ft) deep.

Ecuador's environment minister, Jose Davalos, said the exploration team "found the first totally pristine coral reef... on the summit of a submarine mountain".

The previously unknown underwater colony comes as a surprise to scientists, who believed only one reef existed in the volcanic archipelago - Wellington - along the coast of the tiny Darwin Island.

Reefs in the area were severely degraded during El Niño weather in 1982-83 when the ocean surface warmed to devastating levels.

However, the newly discovered reef survived the event and has more than 50% living coral.

Mr. Davalos tweeted: "Galapagos surprises us again."

Senior marine researcher at the Charles Darwin Foundation and expedition participant, Stuart Banks, said: "This is very important at a global level because many deepwater systems are degraded."

He added the coral dated back several thousand years.

Ecuador expanded the Galapagos marine reserve by more than 20,000 square miles last year to protect endangered migratory species between the archipelago and Cocos Island in Costa Rica. Many endangered animals live on the islands including giant tortoises, albatrosses and cormorants."

Wait if only mammals are extinct, what kind of amphibians or bugs and crap do you think they have in squid world? We know they have regular boring birds but I think a weird frog could be fun. What do you think

This is a common misconception about Splatoon, it's not *JUST* mammals that are extinct. The mass extinction wave between the human and mollusc era does involve all mammals, but it also involves a lot of other land animals, mostly vertebrates. For example the tortoise and the crane that are depicted in Inkopolis Square - neither of which are mammals.

(from this interview). This is absolutely not widespread information as I think this interview is the only place it has ever been brought up lol

The giant statues in general seem to have a pattern of depicting animals that are extinct in the Mollusc Era (in the case of the chicken in Splatsville, this is very confusing). So really at this point when it comes to any vertebrate we haven't explicitly seen in Splatoon I would err on them being extinct rather than out there just because they're not mammals. (There are frog sounds at Brinewater Springs, so those are probably fine!)

When it comes to bugs, though, there's at least 30 species of bugs we've catalogued that either outright appear or are heavily implied to exist in the Splatoon world - though many of them are preserved specimens in the museum (and ported from Animal Crossing, which doesn't exactly confirm whether or not they are extant). The consensus seems to be that bugs survived the extinction event much better than vertebrates did, though.

When it comes to the wildlife in Splatoon, it seems that marine animals did most of the evolving while land animals, if not extinct, also didn't change much at all. So I would expect nature to consist mostly of what used to be marine creatures, mostly crustaceans and something like less evolved fish and urchins, with the occasional surviving mostly unchanged bird sprinkled in there. Every now and then you can find oddities that might have you do a double take. Like the flying scallop - yes, this is an evolved scallop.

‘genius pretty boy volleyball mastermind’ by self definition. everyone on campus knows him and even those who aren’t know him too. taking history because of a trip to rome in high school. part of the volleyball club in his university — if his house was burning, the three things he would take would be his phone, his volleyball and his tortoise shell glasses. there’s a rumour going around that he used to play guitar — is it true?

oikawa’s best friend since primary school, whether by choice or not and is his roommate in uni. majoring in sports sciences and the only one to be able to talk (and have) some sense in the entire friend group. when he’s not busy literally babysitting oikawa, he’s probably at the gym, but not the one on campus, because he thinks it’s rank. he’s always a little cold to his friends, but that’s his humour! he really does love them a lot.

frenemies with oikawa ! he’s a little bit clueless about literally anything that isn’t volleyball or sea creatures, but somehow he’s really popular in his year. taking marine biology!! he went to hinata when he first got his twitter account and hinata just took complete advantage of it. he doesn’t really use it, but he has it to stay updated. one thing about him, though, is his hair and nails are always well kept. like you will never catch him having a bad hair day.

oh kuroo. he’s employed as the comedic relief. but, somehow he has an official fanclub who meet up every fortnight to talk about him. he’s the president, of course! even though he is goofy most of the time, he gives really good advice if you ask him sincerely. he works as a barista at the cafe on campus, and he’s really good at spelling names (it’s because he takes chemistry, he’s used to spelling words like deoxyribonucleic and acetylcholine).

three words - literature major student. he’s not popular like in the sense oikawa and suna are, but everyone respects him. he’s like, insanely clever. he volunteers at the library sometimes, but mainly he’s a tutoring assistant at the primary school nearby and he works part time at the cafe with kuroo. worships classic literature— his favourites are virginia woolf, jane austen, and an honourable mention to dostoevsky. since he reads a lot, he’s very good at listening and he’s really insightful, so it’s worth talking to him if you have any problems like ever. he’s dating bokuto; he likes to keep it lowkey, but that doesn’t mean akaashi loves him any less.

everyone loves him! when he goes to his lessons, all the teachers say hi to him if they pass him in the corridors. unlike akaashi, bokuto is very vocal about their relationship— almost everyone knows they’re dating! took sports marketing because of a bet he won in high school and because the nice granny next door said he’d look good as a salesman. he’s a part of the volleyball club, and sometimes he accompanies iwaizumi to the gym.
