Week 197, Day 1374.

Recently, it feels like all days merge into one. Balancing the PhD with work and whatever limited social life I can squeeze into my GANTT chart has been tiring, stressful, and overwhelming. However, having a job and being in the final stages of the PhD also feels incredibly exciting, motivating, and liberating. 

This PhD is the hardest thing I have ever done, but also by far the most rewarding, even at this very challenging and daunting stage of the process. I am really looking forward to reading back over my blog posts when I reach the finish line, after all, this journey started in October 2017 and has had so many ups and downs! 

I have been incredibly lucky with the support system that I’ve had in place over the years in my friends, family, and colleagues. My old manager from a spiritual store called Stepping Stones, where I worked for many years, sent me an affirmation candle for ‘confidence’ the other day. It was not an affirmation I would have ever chosen for myself, but it turns out it (confidence) was exactly what I’ve needed these last few weeks. I’m so grateful for everyone that has been there for me over the last few years, even when I didn’t realise I needed the support. ❤

I could keep writing on here, but I really have to go and write my thesis. My supervisors have given me a deadline for the 19th of July to have my ‘Literature Review’, ‘Aims & Objectives’, ‘Site Details’, ‘Methodology & Methods’, and ‘Results’ chapters finished. As I have only completed 3.5/5 of those, I better get going.
