If it wasn't enough for Mr Mark Tremonti to have an amazing career in a band called Creed to then moving forward with another phenomenal band in Alter Bridge, he’s also now with this release 5 albums deep into his solo project. Which has been an absolute dream and there has been some absolutely wicked songs come out of it, to be honest there’s not many songs this project has ever released that I haven’t loved. No more needs saying lets get deep inside this album, giggety. 

“If Not For You” was the first single, this track is one of Tremonti’s infamous slower paced and highly melodic songs of enormous amounts of beautiful ear pleasing tones, but towards the end it picks up and builds towards the penultimate chorus, Mark’s voice is absolutely on point and I only now realise how much I’ve missed it since the last album. The album's title track “Marching In Time” is much slower to start and softly builds up to the epic chorus which is powerful in lyrical theme and musically chaotic which adds to its contrast, no wonder it’s over 6 minutes long with all that building. “A World Away” startles me initially because that riff is deep and dark, thought I’d selected the wrong song because it was very metalcore sounding but it evolves into an excellent combination of progressive hard rock and heartfelt melodic style with typical Tremonti licks and tricks all swirled together. It’s songs like “Let That Be Us”, “In One Piece” and “Thrown Further” that have extraordinary thick tasty sinister riffs that I am all over like a rash, still with really epic full sounding choruses with stunning vocals and big tones but then the verse hits and these guys bare their teeth once more. On the flip side of that you’ve got a range of lighter ballad style tracks like the solemn and emotional “The Last One of Us, or the brighter and more uplifting “Not Afraid to Lose” or the best of all the glorious title track “Marching In Time” which is a hybrid in the respect that it’s very large feeling song with really sweet and gentle verses but then the chorus is a much more vibrant and powerful style, which eventually leads to the eruption of dirty riffage all up in the middle, fun for all the family!

What can you say, 5 albums deep, no sign of slowing down nor any sign of the material getting stagnant or stale, it's just as fresh as ever and I’m still yet to see Mark Tremonti disappoint me in any way shape or form, happy times for all.
