Bethany's Bizarre Miraculous Character Rundown: The Other Four

Alright, I'm still psyching myself up to go back to reviews, but first, I wanted to do a character rundown of the four characters that got a Miraculous in Penalteam, as they all share the fact that of the Miracukids they're barely utilized. So let's go!

Ivan Bruel

Alright, starting off with the Big Guy. Honestly of the four it's honestly the strangest he didn't get his own episode, considering that the other half of the auxiliary duo he's in, Mylene, got her own episode all about her and making her a Miraculous hero. Like, he'd work well in Optigami against Style Queen as well! Maybe Optigami takes place far earlier in Season 4 so we can get that sweet sweet Lukanette and Adrigami content before it all falls apart and Marinette's parents learn about the whole 'Ladybug and Guardian' thing so they can save her bacon and possibly become Miraculous wielders themselves, and Ivan is one of the few survivors of Style Queen's murderous rampage! There's parallels to him being the first akuma as well! But I guess his character is just going to be "Mylene's girlfriend" instead. As for my interpretations on his character, I read two fanfics that both had a segment that interpreted his silent giant character as very perceptive. In one he figured out the identities of both Ladybug and Chat Noir without seeing them transform, and in another he realized Lila was lying in Chameleon almost immediately and was crucial in taking her down. I really like this interpretation, to the point where I headcanon that he knows the identities of most Miraculous heroes and knew Lila was capping. Also I felt like he was too soft in Penalteam. He doesn't normally want to hurt anyone but if it's for the greater good he'll do it is my interpretation. Other stuff, other stuff... he likes death metal. That combined with him being in Kitty Section makes me believe he's a Jojo fan, because the rest of Kitty Section are definitely Jojo fans. Except maybe Adrien. Maybe not. Also I don't like his voice but that's no biggie to me. Like, if his voice is supposed to deep-yet-crack-y, then I'm chill. Representation for the kids watching this show.

Nathaniel Kurtzberg

Honestly, of all the Miracukids, Nathaniel is the least interesting to me. Like I feel like I know all I need to about him through canon and headcanon. He was bullied for being shy, meek, and Jewish, and that resulted in him becoming mistrustful, vengeful, and at points grouchy. His interests are drawing superhero comics and watching superhero media. Before Marc came along they didn't have too much of a complex ongoing story. He wants to be a comic artist when he grows up, specifically of Ladybug. He's boned if people realize how weird it is to make merch and other stuff of real live superheroes without their permission or even giving them cash. He's bi. He knows the identities of the Miraculous heroes. He has two first cousins once removed. One of his parents is a doctor, while the other can stay at home. Like, that's it. Even moreso is that he keeps on getting forgotten in the Miracuclass. Apparently he just vanished in Zombizou.

Marc Aniel

Honestly Marc feels like he has even less personality and time in-show yet I can headcanon more stuff about him than Nathaniel. Why is he friends with Marinette despite us never seeing him before? In the first year of middle school, he and Marinette were seatmates in the same class, and said class had no Chloe, so they had time to be safe and bond over being victims of bullying and the joy of creation. They're transmasc and nonbinary, using they/he pronouns. They have two moms and zero dads in sight. They got into soccer from soccer yaoi. In general they're a big yaoi consumer, mostly of twink yaoi. They're a wolf furry. They're a weeb, too. Actually maybe he just has more varied interests than Nathaniel. I guess when given the chance they can passionately ramble on about the stories they're writing is my interpretation,

Sabrina Raincomprix

Sabrina's a fun one, as she wasn't always shoved to the side. She was a main character in season 1, arguably more than Nino was! And honestly, I got a lot of character from her. My interpretation of her is that as a baby child, she imprinted heavily on Roger's ideals and her philosophy is a person's worth is dependent on what they contribute to the lives of others. That, combined with the mommy issues she has from never knowing her mom (I don't know what happened to her,) is the reason why she's so servile to Chloe and at one point Marinette. She loves Chloe and thinks that deep down, Chloe loves her back. Morally, she's true neutral, which is why she's fine with breaking into Marinette's house to steal her diary or locking Juleka in the bathroom. She doesn't necessarily hate them, though. She's just doing her job. She's both an accomplished and a disaster lesbian, and I love her for that. I feel like you could make a damn good long story about her. In general while Julerose is amazing sweet wholesome yuri, Chlobrina is amazing toxic yuri. Why is this show so good with side character yuri?

Of course they made chloe so rude because she MEan anD EVIlcl!!! And of course she used trashmoth, and it looks like he’s ok being used. Also didn’t chloe didn’t really like lila in season 3 or am tripping? neither the less, at least we finally get more lila but I guess its hinting something. 

Besides, if you can push chloe to deakumantize herself, that mean you can basically convince chloe into betraying hawkmoth by telling her he’s actually using her for his own gain? but of course they not going to do thatbecause chloe bad and she never met to be redeem !!!!! 🙄

Unfortunately, since the butterfly miraculous has still yet to be returned to Master Fu, it is still unsafe to reveal their secret identities to each other.

Years have passed and now Marinette is a part time student who has a job at a flowershop near her parents' bakery. Adrien has cut himself off from his father and is now roommates with old classmate Nathanael Kurtzberg, who just happens to work at the tattoo parlor next door to a very cute flower shop.

Everyone seems to be living their lives well, that is, until... Hawkmoth decides finally to come out of hiding.

Summary:

a flashback to behind the scenes of Chloe's akumatization (or amokitization???) as well as a brief moment at the tattoo parlor with Nathanael.

Rant about Ladybug's LGBTQ+ representation and couples in general.

Tbh I don't really like Marc that much. I see him (just my opinion) as the token gay character, considering his design and name. His only big appearance was his first appearance just to get shipped and instantly teleported to the background. We didn't know he existed, he and Nath didn't even know each other that much... idk. It's just... weird. Not only Marc but Marc...aniel as well.

Everything we knew about Nath was that he's a shy artist with an oh-so-cute crush on Marinette. Next big appearance and he's an asshole who adores Ladybug and then just... randomly gets a bf.

Unfortunately this isn't the first time they've done this. What I hate is that they kinda hyped up the LGBTQ+ representation just to... call them best friends (Jules and Rose) or slightly hint at them every ten episodes.

They did this with Mylè and Ivan too, but at least they get some individual screentime. Sometimes...

ML has a big problem managing couples. Once they're paired they're together forever.

Can we get an episode of Juleka with no Rose? Or Ivan with no Mylène? Even Nino with no Alya? I'd ask for Luka with no Marinette but that seems to be impossible.

Still, what pisses me off is that Marc isn't a good character. He could be a very very nice achillean representation, even gnc representation. But he's poorly managed. LGBTQ+ representation is not introducing an achillean character in one episode just to put him in the background and confirm through Twitter that he's in a relationship.

In dieser Lecture wird die Geschichte des Collectif Jeune Cinéma freigelegt. 1971 in Paris gegründet, erlebte die Filmemacher-Kooperative viele Änderungen, im Katalog und in der Organisation. Verortet wird diese Geschichte in der französischen Experimentalfilmszene der 70er Jahre, die noch immer recht unbekannt ist. Historische Fakten, Dokumente und Mikro-Geschichte anhand von Details werden uns im Gespräch helfen zu verstehen, wie das CJC mit dem „Kollektiv“ umging. Wie Arbeit in der Kooperative organisiert war; welches die Wege waren dem Collectif beizutreten; in welchen Räumen CJC zusammenfindet; wie die gegenwärtigen Mitglieder mit den alten umgehen etc.

Diese Programmierung folgt keiner homogenen Kuratierung, bei der aneinandergereihte Filme eine gemeinsame Idee oder ein Muster enthüllen. Die Filme werden weniger aufgrund ihrer ästhetischen Qualitäten oder ihres Inhalts ausgewählt, sondern vielmehr wegen der metafilmischen Geschichte, die jeder einzelne Film im Rahmen des Collectif Jeune Cinéma-Katalogs einnimmt. Auf diese Weise, nachdem das Kollektiv durch das Kommen und Gehen seiner Mitglieder und durchdie Inaktivität oder Hyperaktivität eines jeden*einer jeden geformt wird, dienen die Filme auch als Beispiele für unterschiedliche Wege das Kollektiv zu betreten (oder zu verlassen). Indem außerdem ältere Filme gezeigt werden betont die Programmierung die Tatsache, dass sich das „Kollektiv“ des CJC nicht nur auf die Gegenwart bezieht: Im Gegenteil besteht die Idee darin, eine Spur der Mitarbeit aller zu erhalten, ob es nun schon viele Jahre so geht oder nur einen Abend lang gedauert hat.

Jemina, Fille des Montagnes (Jemina, Das Mädchen aus den Bergen) Regie: Anielle Weinberger Frankreich, 1971, Digital File, Original 16 mm, 10 min (englische Untertitel) Jemina, Fille des Montagnes spielt mit unterschiedlichen Elementen: literarische Stereotypen der Kurzgeschichte F. Scott Fitzgeralds, die flammende Romantik eines Wiener Walzers, durch lange Einstellungen idealisierte weibliche Schönheit, manche weiß, manche schwarz, eine Farbexplosion, das Eindringen von Rosa und Grün. Der Film verhöhnt das klassische Kino Hollywoods und führt die grundsätzliche Diskontinuität jedes Films, jedes filmischen Textes aus. Die Freude an Text, die Freude am Kino.

Dobrodošlica. (Willkommen.) Regie: Davorin Marc Slowenien, 2017, Digital File, 3 min land) (scape (Animation von Standbildern)

Borderhole (Grenzloch) Regie: Amber Bemak & Nadia Granados USA / Kolumbien, 2017, Digital File, 14 min „Borderhole” spielt sich an einer mythischen Grenze zwischen Kolumbien und den USA ab. Die Regisseurinnen untersuchen das Verhältnis zwischen Nord- und Südamerika durch die Linse des amerikanischen Traums und der Beleuchtung vielfacher Spannungen in und an der Grenze. Das Werk erforscht Imperialismus, Globalisierung durch Popmusik, die Varianten von Geschlecht in einem internationalen Kontext und die Choreographie weiblicher Körper in Bezug zu soziopolischen Systemen und Ökosystemen.

Dance Frames (Tanzbilder) Regie: Doris Chase USA, 1978,Digital File, Original 16 mm, 6 min Die menschliche Form wird in einem Arrangement mit der geometrischen Form durch die Nebeneinanderstellung von Farbe und Linie für eine Erforschung in Richtung einer dritten Dimension eingesetzt. Musik von Joan Labarbara. Choreographie/Tanz: Sara Rudner.

Le Casting (Das Casting) Regie: Pierre Merejkowsky Frankreich, 2004, Digital File, 11 min Pierre Merejkowsky empfängt Schauspieler*innen in seiner Wohnung. Er trägt eine Kamera-Brille und erklärt ihnen sein nächstes Filmprojekt.

Sur mon cou (Auf meinem Hals) Regie: Stéphane Marti Frankreich, 2009, Digital File, Original Super 8, 4 min Ausschnitte aus Jean Genets Un Chant d’Amour (1950), absolutes Fetisch-Film-Poem, werden als sich bewegende Tattoos auf einem liegenden Körper gezeigt, der sich Bissen von Sinnlichkeit ergibt.

Angle Mort (Toter Winkel) Regie: Derek Woolfenden Frankreich, 2018, Digital File, 18 min Dieser Film folgt einem sich entfaltenden News-Spektakel rund um die Geschichte eines Mannes, der zwei andere Personen auf einen öffentlichen Platz ersticht. Das Bild, das dieses unfreiwillig grausame Schauspiel einfängt, wird durch Videofragmente eines Cinephilen ersetzt, der eines dieser Leben gerettet hat. Dies erlaubt dem Film einen subjektiven Blickwinkel einzunehmen. Die durch diese Perspektive eingesetzte instinktive und filmische Vorstellung fordert die Dauer seiner Qualen heraus und hilft ihm beim Überleben…

Micro-History of Collectif Jeune Cinéma Talk by Théo Deliyannis Moderation by Bárbara Palomino Ruiz Duration: approx. 70 min + discussion

In this lecture, Collectif Jeune Cinéma history will be exposed. Created in 1971 in Paris, this filmmaker cooperative has known many changes, in its catalog and in its organization. This history will be contextualized within the French experimental scene of the '70s, which is still quite unknown. Historical facts, documents, and micro-history, through details, will help us discussing how CJC was dealing with the "collective". How labor has been organized in the coop; what have been the ways to enter the Collectif; in what spaces the CJC gather, how are the actual members dealing with the old ones, and so on.

08:15 pm Inside the Collectif Screening Program Duration: 70 min + presentation This program won't be curated in a homogeneous way where films, stick one to another, would unveil a common idea or pattern. Films will be selected not so much for their aesthetic qualities or for their content, but more for the meta-filmic history, each one represents within the framework of the Collectif Jeune Cinéma catalog. Thus, since the collective forms through the coming and going of each of its members, and through the inactivity or hyperactivity of each of them, these films will give examples of various ways to enter (or leave) the Collectif. Also, by showing older films, the program will stress the fact that the "collective" in CJC does not only refer to the present: rather, the idea is to keep a trace of the involvement of each and everyone, whether it has gone on for many years or lasted just one evening.

Die Food-Familie des bekannten Investors besteht inzwischen aus neun Unternehmen. Die gesamte Familie kommt in diesem Jahr auf rund 100 Millionen Umsatz. In der kommenden DHDL-Staffel wird Thelen wieder an Bord sein, er will aber etwas kürzer treten, seltener bei Drehtagen dabei sein. “Als Ur-Löwen – keiner hat so viele Pichtes gesehen – ist es schön zu sehen, wie sich die Sendung und Qualität der Gründer entwickelt hat. Natürlich wird es immer eine Mischung aus Unterhaltung und Investments bleiben, aber die Qualität ist deutlich gestiegen und das bei mehr Zuschauern. Startups, Teams, Produkte, Marketing, Capttables – wer hätte gedacht das diesmal ein Unterhaltungshit wird”, lautete Thelens Fazit. Zeit für eine Bilanz nach fünf Jahren! Rund 2,6 Millionen investierte Thelen in der Show in Unternehmen. Hier nun alle seine Investments, die Thelen bei DHDL tatsächlich getätigt hat. Die DHDL-Investments von Frank Thelen 3Bears In der vierten Staffel investierte Thelen gemeinsam mit Judith Williams 150.000 Euro in das junge Porridge-Unternehmen 3bears. Seit dem Auftritt in der Vox-Show stieg die Zahl der 3Bears-Mitarbeiter von zwei auf 15. Für 2019 plant das Startup, das von Caroline Steingruber und Tim Nichols geführt wird, einen Umsatz in Höhe von 10 Millionen Euro. Ankerkraut In der dritten Staffel investierte Thelen 300.000 in den Gwwürzanbieter Ankerkraut. in diesem Jahr peilt das Unternehmen, das von Anne und Stefan Lemcke geführt wird, einen Umsatz in Höhe von 13 Millionen Euro an. Das Unternehmen beschäftigt inzwischen rund 70 Mitarbeiter. Calligraphy Cut In der fünften Staffel investierte Thelen gemeinsam mit Judith Williams 1 Million Euro (500.000 Cash und 500.000 Media-Leistungen) in Calligraphy Cut, eine neuartige Friseurschere. “Auf den ersten Blick mag es komisch wirken, dass ich jetzt auch noch im Beauty-Bereich tätig werde. Aber: Calligraphy Cut hat das Potential, den Markt der hochklassigen Friseure zu disrupten und ich bin ein großer Fan von Disruption und von starken Gründern”, sagte Thelen nach der Show zu seinem ersten Beauty-Deal. Crispy Wallet In der ersten Staffel investierte Thelen gemeinsam mit Lencke Steiner 100.000 Euro in Crispy Wallet, ein Startup rund um das Thema Geldbörsen und Handyhüllen. Ende 2015 schlitterte das Unternehmen in die Insolvenz. “Alles andere lebt noch. Einige unserer Startups waren schon klinisch tot, die haben wir dann noch gerettet”, sagte Thelen kürzlich im ds-Podcast (siehe unten). fittaste In der vierten Staffel investierte Thelen 300.000 Euro in fittaste, einen Anbieter für “gesundes Fertigessen”. Nach der Show zog das Startup, das 2015 an den Start ging, den Aufbau einer eigenen Fitnessküche durch. Die millionenschwere Expansion scheiterte, die eigene Küche war ein Megaflop. “Es war eine komplette Fehlentscheidung“, sagt Thelen zum Küchendesaster. Vor allem die Qualität litt unter der eigenen Küche. Nun kocht Fittaste wieder – wie zuvor – in externen Küchen. fittaste plant 2018 einen Umsatz in Höhe von 3 Millionen Euro. Frittenlove In der fünften Staffel investierte Thelen 120.000 Euro in das Pommes-Startup Frittenlove. Das Unternehmen lieferte küchenfertige Produkte – insbesondere an den Großhandel. “In den letzten Monaten haben wir intensiv mit Sascha gearbeitet und freuen uns darauf, die Fritten-Welt hochwertiger und interessanter zu machen”, sagte Thelen nach der Show zu seinem Investment. Vor der Show machte Frittenlove 150.000 Euro Umsatz. GoLeyGo In der fünften Staffel investierte Thelen gemeinsam mit Ralf Dümmel 500.000 Euro in das Verschluss-System GoLeyGo. Es ist bisher das einzige gemeinsame Investment von Thelen und Dümmel. “GoLeyGo ist viel mehr als nur eine Hundeleine. Es ist die innovative Technik hinter dem Verschluss-System, die mich begeistert hat und in der ich großes Potenzial sehe”, sagte Investor Thelen nach der Show zu seinem Investment. Little Lunch In der zweiten Staffel investierte Thelen gemeinsam mit Vural Öger und Judith Williams 100.000 Euro in die Suppenfirma Little Lunch. Zuletzt erwirtschaftete das Unternehmen, das von Aniel und Denis Gibisch gegründet wurde, einen Umsatz in Höhe von 12 Millionen Euro. 2018 sollen es 20 Millionen werden. Rund 20 Mitarbeiter arbeiteten derzeit für Little Lunch. Das weitere Wachstum finanzierte die Jungfirma zuletzt über kapilendo. Lizza In der dritten Staffel investierte Thelen gemeinsam mit Carsten Maschmeyer 150.000 Euro in Lizza, das von Matthias Kramer und Marc Schlegel gegründet wurde. Rund 40 Mitarbeiter arbeiten inzwischen für den Low-Carb-Pizza-Anbieter. Über die Crowdinvestment-Plattform GLS sammelte das Lizza-Team Ende Oktober dieses Jahres stolze 1,7 Millionen Euro ein. Luicella’s Ice Cream In der vierten Staffel investierte Thelen 120.000 Euro in Luicella’s Ice Cream. Vor der Show wirkten bei Luicella’s drei Mitarbeiter, inzwischen arbeiten knapp 20 Angestellte für das Eisunternehmen. Im laufenden Jahr peilt das junge Unternehmen einen Umsatz in Höhe von 5 Millionen Euro an. “Ohne Frank Thelen und die Aufmerksamkeit über die Sendung wäre es vermutlich nur die Hälfte gewesen”, sagte Mitgründer Markus Deibler kürzlich im Gespräch mit stern.de. Meine Spielzeugkiste In der ersten Staffel investierte Thelen gemeinsam mit Jochen Schweizer 200.000 Euro in Meine Spielzeugkiste, einen Vermietdienst für Spielzeuge. Nach vielen Höhen und Tiefen investierten Bonventure und die Altinvestoren im vergangenen Jahr rund 1,2 Millionen in die Berliner Spielzeugsharing-Plattform. Via Crowdinvesting kam eine weitere Million hinzu. Pro Jahr schickt die Jungfirma nach einen Angaben rund 300.000 Spielzeuge durch die Gegend. Pumperlgsund In der vierten Staffel investierte Thelen 500.000 Euro in pumperlgsund, einen Anbieter für reines Eiweiß. Nach der Show wuchs das Team schnell von vier auf 13 Mitarbeiter. Der Umsatz stieg von 150.000 Euro auf 1,5 Millionen. Eine weitere sichtbare Veränderung ist die Verpackung: Inzwischen gibt es Good Eggwhites im handlichen Tetrapak. Vorher verkaufte das Startup sein Eiweiß in der kleinen Plastikflasche. Was zuletzt zu Engpässen bei der Abfüllung führte. Von Floerke In der zweiten Staffel investierte Thelen gemeinsam mit Vural Öger und Judith Williams 100.000 Euro in das modische Unternehmen Von Floerke. Zuletzt hatte Löwe Thelen keinen Spaß mit seiner Beteiligung. Gründer David Schirrmacher erweiterte gerade das Geschäftsmodell der Plattform um alkoholische Getränke. Dabei konnte das Unternehmen die vielen Bestellungen, die eingegangen sind nicht bewältigen – siehe “Mit Red Bull, Kaviar und Vodka in die Krise“. Traquemoiselle, I don't really like it. The hat and the mask (the design of the mask) throws me off. Its not that bad either. just average.

Coq Courage actually looks good. have no other thing to say other then that.

Minotaurox, this is so bland, it looks like chat noir but with horns and a ring instead. Did they even try? Also why the suit is freaking black??? ain't stompp blue????

I've decided to make the minor characters  not have the same “nice personality” and not have many friends not all them would be nice, some would just be neutral or bad. Marinette will no longer be friends with any celebrity because it ain’t that easy lmao. Instead, celebrities would just see her as an fan and nothing more.  some people wouldn't like other person (or marinette or adrien) even if their nice or not. i did this because people in this universe would only dislikes mean people especially chloe. Half students are smart awhile the rest is dumb or in-between. (because apparently chloe is the only “stupid” student there) Some people will just like mean people even if they are bad. (or be friends with them) Not everyone would like heroes (the only people who doesn’t like heroes are evil which makes sense but what about normal people too?)
