XX
All your life you have been taken care for. Since the day you remembered that first morning, first sunlight, first eyes, first smile, first felt happiness or felt sorrow,... it was as if all your life you have been taken care for, but by yourself.
Because from what you knew, there wasn’t first morning or first sunlight, first smile or anything that you remembered for the first time and the reason for that was your brother.
You’ve been different than the rest of the family and it showed. It showed in the way you looked and it showed in the way you acted. There was just that distinct detail that made you stand out from the rest of the family.
James was the golden child, the favorite child, the one who got to have more attention. Maybe it was because your parents had some trouble in conceiving the first time and when they got James, they were beyond happy. While you? - you were a child they never intended to have. It was the favoritasim of the first child, the first boy in the family, that made James feel more superior to you. He didn’t much try to hide that fact.
It was as if the two of you were born star-crossed. The two of you were just too different to get along.
“Would you turn off that bloody music, already!” he stormed in your room. “It’s making me want to jump out the window!”
“Really?” you quirked an eyebrow at him and jumped from on your feet. You stood in front of him, arms crossed and a devilish smirk appearing in the corner of your mouth. You made your way towards the stereo but instead of reaching for the volume button, you turned towards the window and opened it. “Here’s your chance.”
“Chance to throw you out of the window? That’s a better idea.” he ran towards you but you pushed him away.
“Don’t touch me you knob head!” you shouted at him but he only wrapped his arm around your neck and trying to give you a noogie.
“Who’s the knob head now, lil sis?” he laughed but you elbowed him in the stomach and you tackled him, taking the pillow from the bed and hitting his head.
“You’re! Such! A! Fucking! Prick!” you shouted while hitting his head with a pillow.
He grabbed your arms and tried to prevent you from hitting him any further. His glasses were a bit crooked on his nose and his face expression wasn’t telling you he was in a good mood either. He threw you on your back and quickly sat on top of you, pinning your arms on the ground.
“Will you turn down the music?”
“No.”
He twisted your arm so hard it made you turn on your stomach. Your shoulder was in so much pain but you were stubborn on your answer. “Reckon this is going to change my mind?” you let out a painful laugh.
“Nope. I reckon this will.” and he twisted your arm further that you let out a scream so loud, your parents quickly ran into your room.
“What in the Merlin’s Hat is going on in here- James get off your sister!” your father pulled James off and helped to get you up as well. “You okay darling?”
“Okay?!” you scoffed, holding onto your arm.”I thought he’s going to pull my arm off my body.”
“I could have.” he quirked an eyebrow and placed a satisfying smile on his smug face.
“James!” your mother scolded him but he only opened his arms and changed his expression.
“I told her so many times to stop blasting the music but she just doesn’t listen!” he defended, pointing his finger at you. “I have upcoming Newts coming up after these holidays and I can’t study with her being a noisy little prat!”
Your parents exchanged looks, the looks you were far too familiar with. But you weren’t having this. You were not about to let him take away the only thing it was yours.
“Maybe, darling we should-”
“No!” you crossed your arms in front of your chest and moved in front of the stereo. “I worked all last summer to get this stereo! It’s not yours to take away!”
“(y/n), honey. James needs-”
“And like James is dense enough to fail a Newt.” you scoffed. “You are not taking it!”
“Well, young lady, that is not your decision!” your mother raised her voice, took out her wand and with a flick made your stereo disappear.
“That’s not fair! Dad!” you turned to your father, who only put his hand on your shoulder and sighed.
“You’ll get it back. I promise.”
“I don’t want a promise. I need a father- You know I’m not even surprised!” you backed away from your father, glaring at all three of them. “His wish is your command, isn’t that right?” you felt your eyes water but before any of them could notice it, you stormed out of your room.
You loved your parents, you really did but when it came to choosing sides, they both always picked his. That stereo was the only thing you most loved. It was simply because it was yours. You bought it with your money that you worked so hard for.
It was always like that. Always the one against all.
But as you were walking down the road, freezing with no jacket what-so-ever, your thoughts kept wandering off. Every time ou thought of your family, you’ve grown furious but then it was a second when all those thoughts vanished. You tried to think of something, anything but there was nothing but emptiness in your head.
You sat on the bench by the road and you hugged your arms. Throwing your head back, you took a deep breath in and gazed upon the stars.
It was at that moment, realizing the beauty and serenity of those white spots on the sky that made you think of someone close to your heart.
And like a wish come true, it happened.
“(Y/n)?” his voice echoed in the background and you smiled. It sounded so real in your head, as if he was right there next to you. “It really is you!” you could feel steps approaching, you let your head fall back down and see a boy approaching you.
As he apporached with opened eyes you noticed he was not in your head. No, far from it. He was right in front of you. “Sirius?!” you stood up and with a smile you jumped in his arms.
He wrapped his arms around you so tight, taking in your wonderful smell and laughed. You held him tight as well, your head on his shoulder  meanwhile his hair brushed your neck. Lifting you up and spinning you in his arms, you laughed and with all the joy, finally asked. “What are you doing here?”
He put you down on the ground and cupped your cheeks. “You look amazing-” his face expression suddenly changed as his hands travelled to your bare shoulders. “Why are you not wearing a jacket? You’ll freeze to death!” He quickly took off the jacket and wrapped you in it.
“Honestly, I’m fine- what about you?” you nodded at his bare arms. “Won’t you freeze?”
“With you beside me? Never.” he winked. “What are you even doing here by yourself?”
“I could ask you the same thing.” you nudged him a bit, feeling your cheeks burn as his arm touched yours.
“Uh-” he ran his hand through his dense hair and started avoiding your eyes. You knew where this usally led to.
“Sirius?” you tried to catch his eyes and when you finally did, he relaxed and simpered.
“I ran away... from home...I guess...”
“You guess?”
“I just didn’t know where to go-” he continued but you only wrapped your arms around him and smiled.
“You’re always home with us.”
---
Weeks passed after Sirius came living with you and you could say everything seemed more peacful when he was there. You were always so calm, knowing he was just a room away. James was more distracted as well, never had much time on bugging you when he was always with his best friend.
The two of  you kept exchanging glances during dinner, in the living room or anywhere where the two of you ended up.
It wasn’t until late July when all five of you were in the living room and you were seated next to Sirius the whole movie. It was dark, the only light coming from the television in front of you. Your father was already asleep on his armchairl, your mom already in her bedroom, meanwhile you, Sirius and James kept watching the movie.
James was sitting on the far left corner of the sofa, meanwhile you were seated on the far right, leaving Sirius right in the middle. And as you were watching the movie, slowly feeling yourself zoning out, a hand took a hold of yours and interlaced its fingers with you. Immediately you looked down and saw Sirius staring directly at the TV. You looked over to James, who might as well be asleep over that armrest and kept his feet sprawled over Sirius lap. Then you looked over to your father who was pulling in light snores and lastly, you looked back at Sirius, who was now looking at you from the corner of his eyes. You moved closer to him and you stayed close to him the rest of the movie.
It was until you were in the bathroom, taking a quick shower and slipping into your T-shirt and shorts aka your pijama when the doors quickly opened and Sirius slipped in, closing the door behind him and placing his hand over your mouth before you could speak.
You stood there, frozen and looking up at him with big, wide, confused eyes.
Slowly, he removed his hand from your lips and smiled. “Hey.”
“Hey?” you smiled half nervously, half with butterflies in your stomach. “There was someone in the bathroom, you know?” you started to tease and he smirked, taking a step closer and putting his hand on your bare cheek.
“I know.” he moved even closer. “I just need to do this.” and he pulled you into a kiss and with much surprise, you couldn’t help yourself but slip on the wet floor. Luckily for you, he wasn’t much keen on lettin you go so quickly so his hand wrapped around you, pulled you up and he continued to kiss you. It was perfect. He was perfect.
---
It wasn’t easy after that kiss or any other kiss that came after. The two of you tried so hard to get together without anybody noticing but it was impossible. James hoovered over Sirius like a helicopter, He always wanted to be with him not matter what and Sirius didn’t do anything about it.
Not that you were expecting him to do...sure...yeah... they are best friends...closer than that- it doesn’t even matter.
Oh but it did. To you it did because every second alone with Sirius was not enough for you. It wasn’t but he kept telling you that telling any of the family would jeopradize his staying with all of you and you kept reassuring him that they would never kick him out. It didn’t take though. There was never enough time for the two of you to even fight.
At some point you were happy but at the same time you were sad. It couldn’t be as the two of you wanted it to be. He was afraid hurting James meanwhile you were afraid always put on second place because of James, which was exactly what you felt. Always James, James, James. It was pulling your patience by the guts until finally that patience snapped.
“NO! YOU CANNOT ALWAYS DO THIS TO ME!” you shouted at your parents.
“Lower your tone young lady.” your father warned you.
“LOWER MY TONE?! THE HELL WITH MY VOICE IT’S NOT LIKE THE TWO OF YOU WOULD CARE SINCE ALL YOU SEE IS YOUR PERFECT GOLDEN BOY OF A SON! GOD DON’T THE TWO OF YOU GET IT!!” you continued to shout at the top of your lungs, feeling tears gather in your eyes. “All my life I have been alone!” you now indeed lowered your voice and when they tried to speak, you cut them in. “No! I’m speaking now.” you glared at your mother. “I cooked dinner when the two of you worked late. I washed the clothes. I cleaned the house. I fixed the lamp. I went to get groceries. I study hard for good grades but all of that is never enough.” tears continued to fall down your cheeks. “Not for you because when you got home all you say is that I cooked chicken and I should bloody know James doesn’t eat chicken meanwhile dad and I love chicken. And bloody hell (y/n), why didn’t you wash James’ jersey with that?” you started to quote your mother. “Maybe because he was too busy scratching his balls instead of cleaning his room and throwing the dirty clothes into the laundry basket.” you answered for yourself. “Yes, you cleaned the living room but the bathroom won’t wait forever to be cleaned as well.” you started to quote your mother, then your father. “James could have fixed it better. You know honey, that’s a man’s job.” then your mother again. “Why did you get pudding? You know you’ll just get fat with that- no worries, James will eat it. He needs it more than you since he’s a Quidditch player.” and lastly your father. “Charms and Astrology never caused James any trouble. Maybe you should study more like him.” you continued to look at them as they watched you silenced. “All I wanted was “You did great, honey. Thank you.” and I wanted support or just be appreciated for the hard work I put into pleasing the two of you but all I get is James thrown in my face. It may sound dumb to you but to me this has been with me all my life and I’ll raise my tone, I’ll say it to the two of you because I am done losing my nerves and patience because of it!” you said, walked away, grabbed your jacket, put on your shoes and walked into the hallway.
James was standing in front of you. Sad.
“What?!” you snapped at him but he just shook his head.
“It’s not like that, (y/n). You don’t see it when-”
“Well, call me when there’s actually gonna be some of that to see.” and with a flash you were gone.
---
You felt so dumb yet so furious. You caused the whole drama because you were jealous of your brother always being in the spotlight yet you were so furious because all that spotlight over-shadowed you.
“You know running won’t help.” you heard Sirius behind you.
“You’re the one to talk.” you snapped at him, getting up from the swingset and turning around. “What were you planning to do, Sirius?! Huh!”
“I don’t know. I thought about getting an Auror job after, get myself a nice-”
“I don’t mean with that! You know James and my family always has your back!” you shouted, turning back around so you weren’t facing him and letting him see your tears that crawled out at the mention of your family. “I meant us. Did you just do lall of that because you don’t have any of those other girls to be with as you are when you’re at school?”
“What?!No!-”
“Because that would totally make more sense than actually thinking me and you could work out.” you turned around, smiling hysterically. “With me being James’ little sister and all, you know?” you kept pushing yourself further down.
“What are you even talking about?!” he started to get angry as well.
“YOU!” you shouted. “You always choosing James! You would! You would be just like them! Always putting my stupid brohther on the first place! And I’ll alwas fall second.” you sighed and threw yourself on the swing, rocking forward and back. “Guess I have to get used to the idea I won’t ever be the first choice to anyone.” you scoffed, feeling completely pathethic and sad. “Just leave, Sirius.”
You could hear him standing there, shuffling with his jacket then later sitting on the swing next to you. “I didn’t come all this way to this fantastic swingset to not try the swings. now did I?” he kept running his fingers up and down the swing chain then finally pushing himself pack and swinging forward.
“Sirius...”
“Wow, I can actually see the house from here.” he swung higher and kept going. “Maybe if I go high enough I’ll see James’ sister who’s clearly so goddamn invisible.” he exaggerated and you looked at him from the side.
He jumped from the swing, landed and stood for a while. “Oh well, maybe it’s impossible.”
“It’s not funny, Sirius.” you said and he immediately turned around to you.
“WHO’S THERE?!” he pulled out his wand. “I’m a wizard! I can melt you into unicorny sparkly puddle!” he looked at you, then lowered his wand. “Oh- well would you look at that?” he said as he continued to stare at you. “Another empty swing.”
“Will you stop it?”
“Will you?” he replied harshly. “How can you say all of that? You know the first day your generation came to Hogwarts, you stood out the most and James beside me was so Goddamn proud of you. He was so proud of you that day and I was astonished. Because you were the most gorgeous First year there.” he was now in front of you. “You were fun, easy to talk to, trusting, fiery- you were the combination of beauty but deadly. The only reason I dated those other girls were because I couldn’t have the one I wanted.” he put his hands on your knees. “I knew you were the one for me even before I realized it. You were always the first for me. Always first place. I always had that seat reserved for you. Always and James? He loves you, (y/n) but like all the Potter’s you’re too dense to actually see what’s in front of you. He worries about you all the time. He keeps asking if I saw you eat, always pranking the boys who hurt you, sometimes even intimidating them... with me as his side-kick of course.” he added and you smiled. “He knows about the favoritism and he does argue with both of your parents and it’s not all black and white like you see it. And in school, he always talks about you, no matter I fell in love with you.”
You smiled even wider at him. “You fell in love with me?”
“You had me in your palm the moment you pushed James into the compartment in before your First year in Hogwarts and kicked him in the gentle parts.” he said and you laughed.
“Merlin, you remember that?”
“What Gryffindor doesn’t remember that?- Look, that doesn’t even matter right now.” he quickly changed the topic and gently brushed his thumbs against the back of your hand. “You and James will always be siblings, there’s no changing that fact and James will always be the favorite but this is not a battlefield, (Y/N). Even if it was, you have all of your family on your side and me- the only enemy you should be worrying about are the insecurities that get to your head. You’re being loved. Trust me.” and he looked deep into your eyes and for him you did the same, knowing, at that moment, that you are being loved, you were just too blind to see it.

“Look at us, dating a year and we already have three children.”
Warnings: N/A
Pairing: Remus Lupin x Reader + Friend!Marauders
Words: 1k
Summary: The Marauders are notoriously child like sometimes and you’ve began cleaning up after them like a mum would
(Here’s a short little one for you guys to make up for all the angst I’ve been throwing at you!)
Tumblr media
“Listen, Y/N.” You heard someone say behind you. “Please don’t panic nor get upset.”
You sighed disappointingly, “What did you four do now,” closing your magazine and putting it on the common room table.
“You promise not to get upset?” Sirius asked, clasping his hands in front of him.
“It depends on what you did.”
“Well, I. Okay-” Sirius grabbed your sleeve and pulled you up to the boy’s dormitory. You heard light screams and laughter which you were assuming came from James.
As you pushed the door open, you sighed tiredly.“Alright, what happened then,” you said, walking in and taking out your wand. In the Marauder’s dorm, Peter was flying upside down on a broomstick, screaming like bloody hell. Remus was throwing pillows and duvets around to catch him in case he had taken a spill and fallen.
“Okay so-”James interrupted Sirius with his laughter, clutching at his stomach,
“Peter was wondering if we could charm a broom to see if it’d help quidditch players from falling off and-” he burst out into laughter.
“Help me!” Peter called, nearly touching the ceiling.
Your face showed disappointment as you said to Remus,“Rem, you were supposed to make sure they did their charms homework, not actually do charms!”Remus put his hands up defensively,
“Do you think I can control them, love? These boys are mad.”
Sirius placed a guilty smile on his face, “Pleease, Y/N. Please help us, we’re afraid Peter may be stuck up there till Christmas.”
“Till Christmas?!” Peter yelled as he fidgeted, almost knocking into the wall.
You sighed again and raised your wand to mutter a disenchantment spell. Peter fell from the broom and plopped on the pillows Remus had so nicely put out. He groaned and rubbed his bottom and dodged the falling broom that landed next to him.
“Sit down, boys.” You pointed at James’ bed. They all complied, all with guilty grins.
“Are you mad, Y/N? Please don’t be mad, we’re just being fools,” James leaned back,
“I’m not mad,” you started.
The boys all groaned and said in unison, “Just disappointed.”
“Precisely. Now, I’m going to finish my magazine and by the time dinner is served, I expect you four to be done with your charms homework.”
Remus stood and wrapped his arms around you to put a kiss on your lips, you raised your hand to block him, “Up,” you tutted, “No kisses until dinner.”
Remus shot daggers at the boys, “See what you lot have done? Gone and gotten me in trouble,” he said.
“Don’t act like you weren’t laughing before Y/N came up, Moony.”
“Yeah!” Peter piped in, laughing a bit himself.
You couldn’t help but smile and shake your head, “Crazy lot, all of you are.”
“Aw look at that, Mum and Pop you two.” Sirius teased.
James exploded into laughter again,“He’s so right! Blimey, Y/N, you’re like our mother, and Moony is our lousy father!”
“Lousy!?” Remus yelled, throwing a pillow at James’ laughing figure.
You clicked your tongue, “Yes well, unlike your real mother, I will not wash your pants.” All the boys burst into laughter while James grumbled with red ears. You pointed at them, “Homework, now. Mum says so.”
And with that, you left their dorm.
Going to Hogsmeade with the boys was like going to a park with toddlers. You had to pull Sirius away from kicking the head off of a snowman that some first years had built and helped Peter up from slipping on some ice. You and Remus walked hand in hand, enjoying the snowy day. As you leaned in to press a kiss to Remus’ cold lips, you heard a chorus of, “Eww’s” coming from the boys. You rolled your eyes and continued to walk to Hogsmeade. The three boys raced into Honeydukes and began picking the candies they’d like whilst you and Remus browsed the chocolate aisle. While Remus wasn’t looking, you secretly purchased a chocolate bar and some fudge that you knew he’d snack on when he was reading in bed. You heard glass shatter and thousands of small plunks on the ground. You spun to see Remus scolding the boys for knocking over the toffee display.
“Can’t take you boys anywhere, can I?” You called, Remus looked back at you with flushed cheeks. You apologized to the store clerk and offered to pay for the spilled candy to which she denied with a grumble.
“Are you boys three years old?” Remus sighed, picking up the candies with the boy’s help.
“Really, they are quite sweet. Just a little numb in the head,” you excused to the clerk before helping the boys. The day at Hogsmeade was quite fun. You bounced around, laughing and playing with your friends, making jokes and poking fun at each other.
As sunset began to settle on its way, you told the boys to bundle up before heading back to Hogwarts.“Now, hold Mummy and Daddy’s hand,” you teased, talking to the teenage boys as if they were babies, “Don’t want you to slip.”
The boys complained and refused, but you laughed anyways and took hold of Remus’ hand. “Look at us, dating a year and we already have three children.”
You grinned and shoved him a bit,
“Our real children will be quite lucky to have us, I reckon.” You leaned to kiss Remus again but felt something pelt your neck. Something wet, icy, and covered in betrayal. You turned to see James smiling and pointing at Sirius with accusation.
“I may be your mother, but I am not afraid to give you a good wallop,” you said before bending down to make your own snowball. You raised your arm and hit James squarely in the face, nearly knocking off his glasses. A battleground was placed in front of you as you five began throwing snowballs. It was a sweet day, and if you closed your eyes hard enough, you could still hear the laughter you shared and the cool snow on your skin.

James Imagine 5
Request: Do you think you can do a James Potter x reader? With then like just laying in bed on a Sunday morning and he starts singing “Sunday candy” and then she joins in? Like can it just be fluff? Please? Thank you! Xx
I was having SO MUCH trouble writing this!  thank you sm to @justasadlittleblogger, i really don’t know what i’d do without you, vix. She wrote a detailed outline for this and i built off of it, so go give her a follow!! she’s starting an imagines account!!
James sighed and looked over at you looking through his bookshelf in his Quidditch jersey. You had stayed the night after Gryffindor had beat Slytherin, and had ended up just wearing his jersey to bed. James shuffled around a bit, hoping to get you to turn around at the noise so he could have all of your attention (as usual). When you didn't notice him moving around, he decided to find another way to gain your attention. He remembered the muggle song you’d showed him before, Sunday Candy, and jumped up to grab the record you’d left last week. He slipped it out of its case and put in on the record player. The song began to play and you turned to him holding a book and rolled your eyes smiling. Then, in a horribly off-tune voice James began to sing along, “she can say in her voice in her way that she love me.”
You quirked an eyebrow.
“With her eyes,” James continued pointing at his eyes.
You giggled at your boyfriend and he walked closer to you, still singing, "with her smile,” he grabbed one of your hands and rubbed his nose on yours, laughing.
"With her her belt, with her money” James stepped away and rubbed his fingers like he was asking for money.
You marked the page in your book and but it down.
“I am the thesis of her prayers, he nieces and her nephews,” James continued, “are just peices of the layers.”
You laughed and he grabbed both of your hands.
"Only ones she loves as much as me are jesus christ and taylor, I got a feature,” James sang, outlining his jawline, “So im singing for my grandma you singing too  but your grandma aint my grandma.”
You laughed at his horrible singing, "mines is hand made, pan fried, sun dried, south side and beat the devil by a land slide praying with her hands tied,” James put his hands up like he was praying.
“President of my fan club sayin’ t’ her something told me i should bring my butt to church.”
Then your sweet angelic voice filled the room, “you gotta move it slowly,” you said, grabbing him by his shirt collar, leaving him almost speechless, "take and eat my body like its holy.”
James leaned in closer to you, his lips almost touching yours, mesmerized, and you both whisper to the song, "I’ve been wating for you for the whole week.”
James was about to let his lips touch yours when you pushed him away last minute and sang out loud again, dancing around, "I’ve been praying for you you’re my sunday candy."
James laughed, shaking his head, somewhat surprised at your effect on him and watched you singing and dancing, "You goota move it slowly take and eat my body like its holy ive been waiting for you for the whole week.”
You got closer to him and he joined in with you, both of smiling like total idiots and about half a centimeter away from each other, “I’ve been praying for you, you’re my Sunday Candy…” Your lips were about to touch James’s when you heard clapping and break a part.
"You guys sounded amazing!” Sirius applauded.
“Sirius they were having a moment,” Remus whisper-shouted at Sirius.
“Ohhhhh,” Sirius winked, “Let’s just.. go then,” he finished with a knowing smirk
You and James’s foreheads rested on one another and you picked up right where you left off, "I’ve been praying for you.”
James smiled and you laughed, “you’re my sunday,” you were as close as possible to him as you can get without kissing, "candy.“
You let out a breath and melted into each other.
"GET SOME PRONGS,” a muffled voice (presumably Sirius’s) shouted.
"Guess you're my Sunday candy?” James questioned, smiling and ignoring his friend.
“Guess I am.”
okay this actually came out kinda super cute!! thank u sm again @justasadlittleblogger u saved my life!!! go give her a follow!!! requests are open!! ships are closed!! I’m making my way through them i swear there are just so many!!!

Breaking in Grey
Tumblr media
A/N: Like forreal I know this someone requested with an URL and I tried finding that someone but I couldn’t find her but I finished it and I hope she likes it. It’s not long and it’s how I felt when I was going through similar things.
REQUEST:Hi! Can you make a story that has to do with a gryffindor reader who has a rough past(her parents divorced at a young age, shes lived with mom and her mom keeps trying to find someone else but never finds someone), and last time she saw her mom, her mom was drunk and started talking about how disappointed she in in the reader, making the reader slowly start to break. Sorry if this is too much detail lol, also i feel like either Sirius or James would work for this, whichever fits! Love your books
WARNING: Idk really how to say it but this fic can be triggering to some people who have a problem with mental health or any suicidal thoughts, or alcholism so I advise that if any of the topics makes you feel uncomfortable just don’t read it.
XX
It felt as if your world was grey. Not black, nor white but grey. Grey as in seeing the dead roses on the shelves, faltering into depths of sorrow. Grey as in the room smelt of alcohol, not much of a flavor, more plain alcohol and dullness.
“Mom!” you called out from the hall, only a sports bag over your shoulder as you opened the door to the living room.
The reek entered your nostrils like a wave and you took a step bag, just trying to pull yourself together. You fixed your grimace into a straight face and saw her in the arms of a man.
You couldn’t believe it. You couldn’t.
Not thinking twice, you just went through the door. You’ll call a taxi but will you have enough money? It’s better to just wait for the bus but what if you’re going to miss the train?
“Fuck!” you ran your hands through your hair and gritted your teeth. You wanted to dig your nails into your scalp and peel the skin off. You were so angry! So furious and sad at the same time that you just plopped yourself on the stoop and let your head fall on your knees.
Everything. Everything was shit. Your whole life!
Your dad- where was your dad? WHERE!?
You wanted to cry. No, you wanted to scream. No, you wanted to run into a wall but no, not that either. You just wanted to hurt yourself because you couldn’t hurt the person who made you hurt. You wanted to release some of the tightness and the pain inside of you because it damn hurt.
You didn’t have a ride. You didn’t have anything really.
“I’ll be damned!” you heard someone shout but you only nuzzled closer into your arms. It wasn’t meant for you anyway. “My pretty transfiguration partner.” you shot your head up, finding blue eyes and a matching grin looking at you.
“Great.” you said, quickly wiping off the sorrow and the pain, placing allmighty smile on your face. “Lolly?” he offered you one from his hands as one was already in his mouth, throwing itself from one side to the other.
“Aren’t you supposed to be on your way to the choo choo?” he started to joke as he sat down next to you, looking at you and noticing something about your smile.
“Yeah, I am.” you stood up and slung the sports bag over your shoulder, walking away.
You really weren’t in the mood to joke around with someone who has only been your transfiugration partner in your fourth year and most of the time just played around, making rucus with his friend.
He really wasn’t anybody to you except some asshole.
“Hold up, girly.” he ran after you, catching up and walking by your side.
You felt your throat go sore, your eyes wanting to tear up but you didn’t let them.
Can’t he just leave you alone?! It’s not like you had enough last night! It’s not like you’re a worthless, unintelligent freak! It’s not like you were the biggest mistake ever made! It’s not like you’re just a burdon to everybody and everything and just wish to evaporate into disappointment that you are!
Your throat squeezed but you swallowed the dry feeling back inside.
He noticed.
“Are you okay?”
“Yeah.” your voice was raspy, barely creating any sound at all.
“I can give you a ride?” he asked, eyes watching yours but you only shook your head, walking faster.
“No, thanks. I’ll walk.” it wasn’t much stronger but it was understandable and you hoped he got the hint to just leave.
Yet, he didn’t.
He stepped in front of you, holding you still in his arms.
“Ger’ off me!” you pushed his hands away and took a step back. “Don’t you get it! Leave me the hell alone!” you stared at him, eyes watering as if you’re about to break into a thousand little pieces. Your legs became numb, as if somebody cut you under your knees. He could see you barely standing and he could see you breaking in front of him but all he could see was how this fourteen year old girl, who sat next to him in Transfiguration with bright eyes and adorable laugh, pushing and shoving him away whenever he made a snarky remark about other students in the class. The girl who shot him a glare whenever he was too mean to someone. The girl who shushed him one too many times but never enough to keep him quiet. The girl he thought was cute but never much interested in him. The girl that was his Transfiguration partner one whole year until that year passed and they went back into being strangers.
That girl he thought he didn’t know at all. The girl he thought would be just another face to remember in the future was now the girl he saw breaking just as he broke once upon a time ago.
That girl. The girl breaking.
He took a step forward, despite all the stares passers gave him. “I won’t leave until you-”
“Why do you care!” it was more of an accusation than a question and he could feel it in your tone. “LEAVE ME ALONE!” you turned around and started running with a heavy bag on your shoulder that kept dragging you down.
You could hear him calling out but the tears were already falling and you didn’t want him to see you. You didn’t want anybody to see you. This was embarrasing. You losing it on the streets was embarrasing.
So you dropped the bag and you ran faster than you ever did in your life. And you ran- you ran so fast until your legs made you fall into the wet grass underneath you, somewhere in the nowhere.
You looked up, crying and weeping like a child. Hell, you were still a child.
You didn’t ask for magical powers. You didn’t ask dad to leave. You didn’t ask to have a mother to hate you. You didn’t ask for Sirius Black to be there when you were at your lowest. You didn’t ask to be alive so why the hell were you!
All alone in this grey world.
You couldn’t stop. You couldn’t stop wailing and weeping into the existance. You dug your fingers into the dirt, feeling it gather under your nails. The grass got slick among your fingers and the leaves were so sharp they cut.
You didn’t hear the sound of a motorbike. You didn’t hear the call of your name and you didn’t hear him approaching until he wrapped his arms around you and pulled you into him.
A girl he didn’t know and he was holding her in his arms as if she was the most important being in the world for him. As if it was fragile and he was keeping it from breaking.
“It’s alright. I’m here.” he whispered and you cried, holding onto his arms.
Because at first you didn’t believe it. That he was there, Sirius Black. The boy who sat next to you in Transfiguration class but never exchanged a word after that. You had somebody to hold and somehow that made it better.
And like your heart was filling up the space in your throat, you heard yourself speak. “I’m alone!” you sobbed, crying and holding onto him. “She hates me! My own mother hates me and my dad doesn’t even care!” you cried and cried and you didn’t know but those words hit home with the boy.
Yet he didn’t break. He already broke once and once was enough. He had James. You have him now.
“You’re not alone, you hear me.” he whispered, almost ordered you to listen. “It’s not about them. It’s about what she thinks, what he thinks. You’re stronger without them. You’re stronger because of them. You’re strong.”
“How would you know? You don’t even know me.You don’t even notice me.” you looked up as he offered you a comforting smile. Not the one he usually gives you but the one that just gives you the feelign of empathy.
“The hell are you talking about? I know you.” he looked far at the distance. “I may not know your background but I have a feeling of how it feels. I know you like to hit me with a book- and one of the thick ones. Quite harshly too.” he started to joke a bit and you let out a laugh.
Merlin, you hated when somebody could make you laugh when you were angry.
“And I do notice you. I notice when you come down in the morning, you seem to run back up because you always forget something. You wear buns most of the time because they are the easiest thing to do. Just plop your hair up but there are days you come down with braids and I like those days. Back in Transfiguration I could see you wearing this parfume that was really nice- I don’t know which one it was but it always smelled so nice and you always smelled nice. You had that parfume for a while but then it stopped and I could only smell the cheap ones whenever we passed by. I didn’t mind the cheap ones. They didn’t smell bad but the one you had before was really great. Sometimes you would smell like a fresh summer breeze and I would always try to get closer to you in Transfiguration because you always smelled so good. It’s one of the things I really took notice in and noticed that you always smelled good.”
You were speechless. You haven’t expected that at all from him. Not from him and not so bluntly. He just said it like it wasn’t odd or creepy. It wasn’t thought. If somebody told you that one normal day, you’d think it’s odd but he told you now and it felt... it made you feel better. You were noticed. You still are.
And you didn’t do anything except continue to look up at him and then follow his gaze into the field of nothingness.
“You’re not alone. Not anymore.” he squeezed you gently. “You may think you are but you’re not. It’s always like that with us.”
“Us?”
“The family disappointments.” he quirked an eyebrow. “We are so used to being talked down on. For not following simple rules or obeying but that’s just an excuse for their pathethic decisions and pride. They put all of their flaws and faults on us but we’re not them. “ he looked into your eyes, ordering you to listen one more time. “You’re not what they say you are. You’re not what they make you believe you are. You’re better and stronger. You’re all they can’t be.” he kept looking into your eyes as you kept looking up into his.
And there was this moment of just you, him and the field of nothingness. The wet grass was damping your clothes and his words cleared your enough to realize that. You’re not alone. Not anymore. Not when he’s here and his eyes were the exact proof you needed to feel that.
He removed himself from you and offered you his hand, grinning. “So are we going to catch this train or not?”

Close Friends - pt. 7
Tumblr media
A/N: I’m trying to fix the mess I did but it’s so hard lmao I have so many ideas but this was one I wanted to do so here my lovers.
XX
You tried. You tried so bloody hard to talk to Sirius but he has done nothing but ignore you completely.
The holidays came and he hasn’t replied to any of your letters and neither did James. You didn’t know how bad you really screwed up until you were up in your room, sobbing into your pillow for feeling completely, utterly daft for kissing Sirius’ best friend.
But he wasn’t just his best friend. He was James and he was your first date ever, you first kiss ever. You haven’t much thuoght of him until last year when the two of you started hanging out due to Sirius and your friendship with him. Though it wasn’t just a friendship, was it? Not to him at least.
“Hey-” a head popped in and the body quickly followed, closing the doors in the compartment.
“Hey, Remus.” you smiled quite sadly. “You’re not avoiding me?”
“I should but I’m not like the two.” he sat down and continued to smile. “I told you.”
“Yes, you did.”
“And you still did it.”
“Yes, I did.”
“Why?”
“He was right there and it was so intense between us. He was looking at me with these blazing eyes and his energy was suffocating me- but in a way that it was hot.” you finally looked up from the box you’ve been coddling and to the eyes that rolled way far back. “Don’t-” you laughed and put the box beside you. “I know how’s he like but you can’t blame me for wanting to kiss the right guy.”
He raised one of his eyebrows and laid down on the seat, taking one of your sweaters to use as a pillow. “Are you sure it isn’t Sirius?”
“Yes.” you said without a doubt.
“So James is definetly the right guy?”
“He is.”
“How do you know?”
“Because I can feel it in my bones.”
“And who are you thinking about now?” he asked and you felt surprised by his sudden, unexpected question. He opened one of his eyes and grinned. “I think it’s surely not James you want to see right now?”
“What are you saying?” you started to get frustrated.
He sat back up and put his elbows on his knees, leaning forward. “You’re dense.”
“So I keep hearing.”
“You’re not in love with James. You’re in love with Sirius.”
“How can you tell me who I am and am not in love with?”
“Because if you were in love with James, he’d be the first thought in your mind but it’s not. You want Sirius, don’t you?” he asked and you sat there in silence, unable to answer the question. “And if you could choose between him or James, you’d choose your precious Sirius.” he continued to speak, confusing you completely.
“That’s-”
“I know what I’m saying, (Y/N). You’re so in love with the idea of you and James, your chemistry and intensity that you don’t even see how badly you miss Sirius- and you do.”
“He’s my best friend.”
“So is James?”
“Remus!”
“(y/n).”
“Please leave.” you said, glaring at him as he continued to keep his expression and movement just as he did before. “Leave, please. You’re putting ideas inside my head and I don’t like any of them. You’re saying things that I can’t process right now.”
He stood up and patted his robes. “I’m stating the facts, (Y/n). And the facts always tell the truth.” and he left, leaving you alone in your compartment.
---
Sirius hasn't been able to look at you since your last encounter. The holidays have passed and you were now sitting alone, next to a seat where he used to sat.
When you came into the classroom, you thought yuor heart was about to burst from not being able to talk to him. James was there as well but he was talking to Lily which it seemed to make the heartbreak so much more agonizing.
Sirius was flirting with one of the Ravenclaws right in front of your nose. It really did not piss you off, more or so it made you extremely, severly sad. There was no other emotion than sorrow. Your heart lifted heavy weight and it was slowly, painfully losing strength.
You tried no to look in neither of their directions because you knew both of them were doing it on purpose, trying to let you know that you were not on their mind when clearly, you were.
Sirius could not take his mind off you and whenever you were in his sight, on his mind, he was so furious. He wanted to shout, yell, punch and throw anything in his sight but it was as if he was so angry that battling you in his head took all the energy to actually do all of those stuff outside his head. Yet, he was determined to be petty, trying his best to hurt you the worst.
You were in love with his best friend. How could you have done that to him?
And it was like you could hear his thoughts to make you feel overly guilty of what you had done. He was so obvious in those four months of school, hinting you that he wanted to be more than friends but you were never sure. Never sure quite really that he fancied you. He had always flirted- always and for the two of you that was normal. You just weren't completely sure and he hadn't said or done anything to prove it.
When you avoided Sirius, you were with James who always made things seem so light and careless. He lifted the weight of those heavy thoughts that wandered in your head and he made the go away. Now… now he was flirting with the red-head a few desks behind you.
You didn't want to look. You did your absolute best to let them know you were not affected by their childish games.
Both of them seemed to notice that your eyes and ears were always on the professor and whatever he was saying but there was a difference between Sirius and James. Sirius knew that your thoughts weren't there because you hated this class and you hated whatever philosophical, sexist crap came out of Sinastra's mouth. You woulnd't be paying this much attention to him- not really. You were trying to put on an act just as he did, just as James did.
James took a short glance at you, thinking it wouldn't last longer than a second. But when he saw you take out your honey chapstick from your bag, all he could think about was it's taste on your lips. All he could think about was the was you pulled him close with your hands and how his own locked so perfect on your hips, like two puzzles together.
He wanted to move away his look. He wanted to turn away but seeing your hair and your lips, remembering all the things he wanted to do to you back then and now was dreading every second he spent at that desk so far away from you. Your hair smelled like papaya the last time he had you- he wonders again if you changed shampoos.
He turned his head away, shutting his eyes and cringing. Why is he thinking about your shampoos. That is so not normal.
Sirius seemed to catch James' staring as he also caught him turning it away from you quite forcefully.
Honey chapstick. He didn't know why but the way you put it on and the way its sent kept wandering into his nostrils whenever the two of you were once close, seemed to take his thoughts far away. You always smelled so good. Sometimes he could smell your argan lotion to which he could never guess correctly until he asked you on it. It was usually coconut or almond, which was so easy to get but then it just changed and he had never heard of argan oil, let alone know what it smelt.
And then you changed your hair shampoo into a papaya one. He asked you about it and oyu simply said the bottles were pretty and you wanted to try them. What you didn't know was that the scent of your papaya shampoo is imprinted into his head like his own reflection. He wonders now though, did you change shampoos again? Which one-
He turned his head forward and shut his eyes. Bloody hell, why is he thinking about your shampoos. It's not normal.
You let out a sneeze and all heads turned to you.
Your sneezes were so adorable to him but just as that little sound made him smile, he looked a few desks behind you to notice James was smiling as well and he knew why.
---
When the class was finally over, you started walking after Sirius. You knew all of this was your fault but you and Sirius have been friends for so long and the two of you could geto ver any obstacle thrown in front of you.
»Sirius!« you shouted but he continued to walk further and faster. »Sirius!« you started running until you caught up. »Sirius.« you said more calmly, thinking he would stop but he never did nad walked further.
Narrowing your eyes at the guy, you felt an amount of anger claw itself into you, so the next time you were close to him you didn't bother to call out his name. You grabbed his sleeve and pulled him back.
»What!« he shouted angrily.
»We need to talk.«
»Surely, you like to do more than just talk- especially with James.«
»Why are you so upset by this Sirius?! It was a kiss-»
»Why am I so upset?! Why am I SO UPSET?!« he started bellowing, smiling franatically. »Do you know what that bracelet was for?! It was my unconditional love for you! I love you till infinity- that's what the charms presented. My love for you. My goddamn limitless love for you because I LOVE YOU! I had loved you for years now and I tried telling you, I tried showing it to you and I TRIED my best to make it so goddamn obvious to you that you are the one that I want. You are. You are everything I ever wanted for so long and I wish I could have been there before James. I wish it was me on that date, me with the chocolate frogs and me the one you've kissed in the corridor.« he started breathing heavily, staring at you with broken eyes as you continued to only watch.  »And I was so jealous of James my whole life. He had a perfect family, perfect grades, perfect reputation but the one thing he didn't have was you because you were my best friend and you were my girl and you were close to me, not him and then I see you and him kissing and I realize that he has you too and that I have nothing! So why am I upset?- Because I have done nothing but show my unconditional love for you and you still chose him!«
He wanted to walk away but it was like an insitnct for you to pull him back. Next words that came out of your mouth- they really haven't felt as real as you said them. »You haven't said anything. You had flirted with me for years- YEARS! You had so many chances to ask me out. You had so many opportunities to say you like me more than just a friend and maybe I wouldn't consider it- or maybe I would but I won't ever know because you never said anything. You did the same thing you did for years and none of them showed me any proof that you loved me more than just a friend. The only thing you did do that made me think otherwise was the bracelet you bought for me and I had so many thoughts every time I looked at it that for a second, minute and even a few hours before I went to sleep I dedicated them for you. I saw it in front of me and I thought that maybe, just maybe it's you, not James. And then James came asking me about me having a boyfriend and about the cologne guy and I thought, hey maybe he noticed. Maybe he's jealous, maybe that's him wanting to tell me he cares. Then months of you not doing anything new than just touching me and hanging around me like you had done for the past years, he backed me against the wall saying stuff you haven't been saying. He thought of the cologne guy, of the hogsmeade guy and I knew he wouldn't notice those things just because we're friends and I kissed him. I grabbed him and I KISSED him and it was the perfect first kiss I could have ever imagined to have with anybody. I can't take back what I did. I can't say I regret kissing him because I don't. I only regret being caught by you that same day because you ruined my perfectly great first kiss. It was all so perfect until you came and made it all about yourself which you always seem to do. I don't like you Sirius but I do love you so much and I care for you and it towers my heart to see you and not being able to talk to you. I miss you SO MUCH! I miss your hugs and your voice, your laugh, your presance-  I miss your whole bloody self and hell, I would cut off James for you because James is a crush and you- you are the closest person in my heart that I cannot imagine my life with.- And maybe, maybe we could be more than friends but right now I am not seeing that happening because all you do is avoid, ignore and play these childish games that I despise. That was why I could never imaigne you and me togehter. Because you're still such a kid!« you finally started to breathe as he continued to stare at you motionesly. Before you decided to leave you reached into your pocket and pulled out a wrapped present, letting his attention to fall on it. »Before any of this happened I bought you this for Christmas. I wanted you to have something from me like I had the bracelet from you. You can take it- or don't.« you said, putting it on the bench beside the two of you, running your hand through your hair. »I really don't want it anymore.« you started walking away before stopping and looking over your shoulde.r »But I did want you to have it them most.«
