Shen Jiu eyes the bronze chip in Luo Binghe’s hand, emblazoned with the number three. He sniffs and rolls his eyes. Three months is nothing. Three months is a wish. A nice idea. A honeymoon on the verge of winding down. Luo Binghe has proven nothing at all with that three month chip. And yet… “Get in the car,” Shen Jiu says. “Or are you planning on walking?”

Shen Jiu has made a lot of progress in his addiction recovery program. He keeps saying he doesn’t want to take on a mentee, but nonetheless his therapist assigns him Luo Binghe to mentor. An unrepentant bad boy who is brand new to the program. Shen Jiu doesn’t expect anything good to come from this. So he’s blindsided when it does.

Along the way, he inadvertently picks up traveling companions - first a small, headstrong boy, and then a kind, obliging man - as he attempts to leave his past behind. Unbeknownst to him, his new companion is much more familiar with who he really is than he would expect. (or, a bingjiu yi city arc au)

Scum Villain Meets Modern China by map_of_mysteries Blinking, Shen Qingqiu uses his forearms to hold himself up. He looks down at the soft thing he had been resting on. And stares into the blurry face of a Heavenly Demon. Shen Qingqiu throws himself backwards, landing with a thud next to the strangely soft pillow upon which the entire, nearly naked body of the demon is illustrated. Why would someone do that? Why would someone own that? Is this a nightmare?! Or: Shen Jiu transmigrates into the body of Shen Yuan. It goes about as well as you'd expect.

flowers for my beloved by texturralize Time travel, from the perspective of the man living in the past. After seeing the other world's happy, good Shen Qingqiu, Bing-ge comes up with a plan: go back in time himself to when his Shen Qingqiu was younger and seduce him. The Peak Lords of Cang Qiong are nonplussed, to say the least, when a mysterious man begins appearing around the sect, hounding Shen Qingqiu's steps. Flattering him, making him laugh, bringing out a side of him they've never seen before (since when did Shen Qingqiu even like men?). And also very blatantly trying to steal their Qing Jing Lord and make off with him.

"Fred opened the book and began to write. He only got a few words down before the diary absorbed them, the ink vanishing without a trace, prompting George to lean in closer to observe.

“Maybe this is some elaborate joke on Ginny’s part to educate us on proper brotherly behaviour?” George mused, just as new words began to appear on the empty page. Well, that seemed a bit ambitious for a first-year…

Harry Potter Fic Rec

My fantastic fic rec for today is How Fred and George Accidentally Befriended a Wannabe Dark Lord, by map_of_mysteries on ao3. Essentially, this arguably demented AU fanfic works off of the concept of what if Fred and George found the diary. There are genius Weasley twins, a Tom Riddle whom you cannot help but fall in love with, inter-house unity, So Much Crack, some equally wonderful crack treated seriously, pranking Dumbledore, and so much more. This brilliant fanfiction is one which I have reread many times, and it’s characterisation is so spot on that when I think of the twins, these are the versions I think of. Warnings for dubious morality, and some references to abuse (Dursleys), but it is complete with 203,282 words and 22 chapters, and absolutely worth the read.
