Thomas or Manu starter pack?? Plzzz
What about both? Hey, you ask, I deliver!! I present to you a two-for-one special: starter packs, Neuller style 😂
THE Thomas Müller starter pack™️:
Who needs them apple bottom jeans or boots with the fur when you have a hat that does the same and better?
Veggies and cooking supplies because Gordon Ramsay could NEVER…mans really said eat yo leafy greens and I respect that
Because “Dog mom” is a minimum requirement
Full-time fußballer, part-time horse girl
For giving Basti the occasional splashdown, naturally
Pants with pockets because where else is he gonna put Barça?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
THE Manuel Neuer starter pack™️:
For hitting the slopes
For the accidents that happen while hitting the slopes
The perfect partner for any striptease: a compression shirt. How else are you supposed to show off those broad shoulders, built biceps, and bodacious tatas?
How do you think his biceps got so big? We have those trophy twists to thank for that!
Because how else would we know that he’s the overworked, underpaid single mom of the squad?
Last but not least, Thomas’s only REAL competition for Manu’s heart
Special thanks to @onetouchparadise for that last one…you caught me slippin’ bestie 😵
#gaia <3#thanks for this ask :) twas a lot of fun!!#thomas müller#thomas muller#manuel neuer#fc bayern münchen#fc bayern#fc bayern munich
I was tagged to do the first line(s) game by my dearest @hrhgeorgerussell
the rule is to list the first line of your last 10 (posted) fics and see if there's a pattern. In order to reach the 10 fics posted we will be revisiting some of my footy fics
From A muse by any other name (Manuel Neuer/Thomas Müller)
Thomas was excited when he finally got into the art school, he was even more excited when he made friends, Robert was cool even when he was a pain in the ass sometimes, Lukas and Bastian were both out of their minds, but Thomas loved them.
From Now he is mine (Mats Hummels/Julian Draxler)
It was wrong, he knew it was wrong. Dammit not even Marco would be on his side on this one, it was the kid. No, not a kid. But Benedikt’s favorite, the one he took under his wing.
From Honey, please try to love me (Martin Odegaard/Aaron ramsdale)
He had gone over the scenario multiple times in his mind. He's not usually the anxious type… His mother would probably shake her head at the sight of him in his current state, but, now with Derby tickets and an arsenal scarf neatly packed in a gift bag, he couldn't avoid feeling nervous (also adding the considerable debt to his group of friends, who kindly promised to charge him less in case Martin turned him down).
from I don’t know how not to love you [And i'm fine being ignorant] (Charles leclerc/pierre gasly)
Charles was not by any means a good cook and he would probably never be, still there was something endearing about him in the kitchen fighting for his life to make the “Sick-soup” they remembered so well from childhood, Pierre was not sick, but Charles didn't need to know that.
From A certain something in the middle (Charles leclerc/George russell/ Pierre gasly)
It started with Charles, Charles with his dreamy eyes, his dimpled smile, his various attempts of getting closer, either playing stupid simulators together, a message sent late at night, or early in the morning, a shared gaze across the paddock.
From Once upon a dream (Mick schumacher/ Frederik vesti/ Jack doohan)
The sky burns above his head, everything his eyes can reach is soaked in orange and yellow, the air feels warm as he stands in the middle of a field of baby’s breath. He looks around just to catch the beauty of the whole place, and he can tell there’s a city in the background but the buildings seem odd.
From The holding of hands and the breaking of glass (Charles leclerc/ Sebastian Vettel)
In front of him was Charles, beautiful, haunted, martyr Charles. No longer a naive boy, no longer his. He stood in all his glory among the royal family, Monaco’s pride and joy, the crown's jewel, the promised prince, loved by the smallfolk, respected and adored in equal parts, his skin glowing under the summer’s sun. Sebastian swore he had a vision, lovely, golden Charles shining under the morning sun, pale skin against red wine bed sheets, legs tangled with Sebastian's.
From Whatever here that's left of me is yours [just as it was] (George russell/ Lewis hamilton)
His hands kept playing the piano but the memory of salt water felt like a ghost in his mouth. His back felt heavy even now without his wings and his muscles were tense, still he played the piano. The rhythm felt odd, and the sound bounced inside his head, he had his eyes steady on the ink on his hands as his fingers shifted through the keys.
From Stop the World I Wanna Get Off With You (Charles leclerc/pierre gasly)
It was easy with Charles, talking, spending time, being silent. It felt natural, like breathing. Laughing at his awful jokes came from his mouth effortlessly, like another mother tongue.
From Lando's George (Oscar piastri/George russell)
Oscar knew a few things. He knew Lando was one of the worst roommates ever, he knew Logan hated his macroeconomics class, he knew Liam loved his girlfriend so much it sometimes came off as concerning and nowadays he also knew that somewhere in the world there was a guy named George whose style Lando hated, who helped Logan with his midterm and that recommended a nice restaurant to Liam. He knew some stuff, not all. But some
i would say a pattern is that I never start from the actual beginning but from some random point where stuff has already happened and I just hope everyone bears with me, its also very common for me to start with a whole ass paragraph.
FC 25 Best New Icon Rating Leaks - Angerer, Buffon, Bale and more
With EA SPORTS FC 25 releasing on September 27, 2024, there have been rumors about which icons will be in the game. This is usually a big part of EA's football video game.
This icon pack features one of the all-time greats and their stats have been upgraded, which makes them a must-get for Ultimate Team. Parts of their cards that receive an upgrade are their dribbling, pace, passing, shooting, defending, physicality, skill moves, weak foot accuracy, and playstyles. So make sure you keep an eye out for when these icon cards will be released.
Nadine Angerer - 92 OVR
Angerer has played for Frauen-Bundesliga clubs Bayern Munich, Turbine Potsdam (with whom she won the 2005 UEFA Women's Cup), and FFC Frankfurt. In 2008, she played for Djurgårdens IF of the Swedish Damallsvenskan and she spent two periods on loan with Brisbane Roar of the Australian W-League in 2013 and 2014. During her extensive international career, Angerer was recognized as one of the world's best female goalkeepers.
Germany won the UEFA Women's Championship on each of the five occasions Angerer was involved and won the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2003 and 2007. Their best finish at the Olympics was third in 2000, 2004 and 2008. Angerer is a penalty-saving specialist, having stopped Marta's kick in the 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup Final and both Trine Rønning and Solveig Gulbrandsen's during the UEFA Women's Euro 2013 Final. She was appointed captain of Germany in 2011 following the retirement of Birgit Prinz. On 13 January 2014, Angerer was named FIFA World Player of the Year, becoming the first goalkeeper – male or female – to win the award. She announced her retirement from the international team on 13 May 2015.
Gianluigi Buffon - 91 OVR
Gianluigi "Gigi" Buffon is a former Italian professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Widely regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time, and by some the greatest of all time, he is one of the few recorded players to have made over 1,100 professional career appearances and holds the record for the most appearances in Serie A.
Buffon was named by Pelé in the FIFA 100 list of the world's greatest living players in 2004. He is the only goalkeeper to win the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award, which he achieved after reaching the 2003 Champions League final; he also won UEFA's award for best goalkeeper that year and was additionally voted into the UEFA Team of the Year on five occasions. Buffon was the runner-up for the Ballon d'Or in 2006 and was elected part of the FIFPro World11 three times. He was the first-ever goalkeeper to win the Golden Foot Award and was also named the IFFHS World's Best Goalkeeper a record five times, alongside Iker Casillas and Manuel Neuer. He would go on to be named the best goalkeeper of the 21st century, of the past 25 years, and of the decade by the same organization.
Aya Miyama - 90 OVR
Aya Miyama is a Japanese former footballer who played for the Japan national team starting in 2003, and from 2012 to 2016 served as captain of the team. She appeared in four World Cups between 2003 and 2015 and was part of the team that won the 2011 World Cup for Japan. Miyama also led Japan to a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
At the 2011 World Cup in Germany, Miyama scored the winner – a curling free kick – to help Japan beat New Zealand, and netted Japan's first goal in the final against the USA. Miyama also scored Japan's first penalty of the eventual penalty shoot-out in the final which ended 2–2 after extra time. Her team won 3–1 in the penalty shoot-out, making them the first Asian team to win the World Cup. In the moment of victory, Miyama did not join her teammates in celebration but instead went to the American players to hug and congratulate them. This has been reported both by Hope Solo and the Japanese media as evidence of Miyama's sportsmanship and respect for her opponents.
Gareth Bale - 88 OVR
Gareth Frank Bale is a Welsh former professional footballer who played as a winger, most notably for Tottenham Hotspur, Real Madrid, and the Wales national team. He is widely regarded as one of the best footballers of his generation and one of the greatest Welsh players of all time. He was known for his explosive pace, athleticism, and powerful strikes from a distance.
One of the fastest footballers in the world at his peak, Bale started out as an offensive left-back or wing-back at the beginning of his career. It was at Tottenham Hotspur that his manager Harry Redknapp decided to utilise Bale's pace and played him as a left winger, where he developed into a world-class player. He was predominantly known for his speed, strength, stamina, and heading ability, but also possessed good technique and ball control. His skills, combined with his acceleration and physicality, allowed him to get past defenders regularly and make runs into space, where he was able to score or create. Bale was also a free-kick specialist and was known for employing the "knuckleball" technique (popularised by Juninho Pernambucano) when taking free kicks. As he moved further forward onto the wing, he began to score goals on a regular basis with powerful strikes from outside the penalty box. In addition to his athletic and offensive capabilities, Bale also drew praise in the media for his work rate and defensive contribution off the ball.
This season FIFA 21 Ultimate Team is more expressive than any time in recent memory! At last it got an eSports mode named FUT Champions. Champions League 2020-21: Who will be kings of Europe? Our experts' predictions
Fifty eight days after Bayern Munich lifted the trophy in Lisbon, the Champions League is back.
Last season's disrupted competition ended with an unlikely final four of Bayern, Paris St-Germain, Lyon and RB Leipzig.
So who will triumph this time? And who will be the surprise packages? We asked our European football writers to make their predictions.
Champions League groups in full
Everything you need to know about this season's Champions League
Can you name every team in this season's Champions League?
If you are viewing this page on the BBC News app please click here to vote.
Andy West, Spanish football writer
What are the prospects for the Spanish sides?
Real Madrid are, of course, always dangerous in this competition and will have added motivation after failing badly in the past couple of years with consecutive last-16 exits.
Barcelona have started the season brightly but realistically the squad is too shallow and blighted by too many flaws for them to be considered among the favourites.
Atletico Madrid, though, could go a long way: they will be strong at the back as always, and if the new strike pairing of Luis Suarez and Joao Felix fulfils its potential they'll be hard to stop.
And Sevilla? Underestimate them at your peril.
Who is your tip to win the Champions League and why?
Right now it's hard to look past Bayern Munich, considering how superior they were to every other team at the end of last season.
But winning the competition two years in a row is notoriously difficult, and I have a feeling we'll see a very strong challenge from the team who historically like to believe they own this competition: Real Madrid.
Zinedine Zidane can call upon genuine world-class quality throughout the squad and has plenty of match-winning options in attack, especially if Eden Hazard can get fit, stay fit and start to show his true ability. So I'll take Real Madrid.
Which team could be the surprise package?
Sevilla have made the Europa League their own, winning it four times since 2014. And under the leadership of canny coach Julen Lopetegui, they look ready to step up to the Champions League. The Andalusians don't have the quality in attack to be potential winners, but they could go deep into the knockout stages.
Constantin Eckner, German football writer
What are the prospects for the German sides?
Bayern Munich addressed the issues regarding their squad late in the transfer window and remain among the strongest teams in Europe. They are capable of defending the title, but it is more likely we will see a slight drop in performance this season.
Borussia Dortmund should win their group and reach at least the quarter-finals if they manage to keep the defence healthy.
RB Leipzig could battle Manchester United for second spot in Group H. Even without Timo Werner, last season's semi-finalists are tough to beat thanks to Julian Nagelsmann's analytical mind and a squad full of highly athletic players.
Borussia Monchengladbach should see their participation in this year's competition as a chance to learn and grow.
Who is your tip to win the Champions League and why?
I don't see a clear-cut favourite this year, as the two previous winners have to deal with some issues that might hinder them from winning it again.
So my money is on Real Madrid. They are the total package with a mix of veteran players and rising stars, and an experienced coach on the sidelines.
Federico Valverde, Martin Odegaard and Vinícius Júnior represent the new generation, while Karim Benzema, Toni Kroos and Sergio Ramos have enough left in the tank to get one more Champions League trophy.
Zidane might not be the tactical genius that some of his peers are, but he knows how to manage a tight schedule and guide a team through the obstacles of a knockout stage.
Which team could be the surprise package?
Borussia Dortmund have the raw talent to be the dark horse in this year's Champions League. They are able to beat any team in the world on a good day and will only get better, as most of their key players are fairly young.
Phil McNulty, BBC Sport's chief football writer
What are the prospects for the English sides?
Liverpool, with their past record of success, are England's best prospect to win the Champions League. Manchester City have the talent but there is something about this competition that always seems to trip them up. Is it lack of belief? Is it Pep Guardiola's tactical mistakes?
I can see Chelsea making it out of a group that is relatively kind but in their current form and condition I do not see Manchester United getting anywhere near the knockout stage when faced with the likes of PSG and RB Leipzig. Things can change in that time for United, but they would have to change a lot.
Who is your tip to win the Champions League and why?
At this stage I would say my two favourites would be Liverpool and the holders Bayern Munich.
Liverpool still look so strong, although they did not get past the last 16 last season when they went out to Atletico Madrid, but now of course they have Thiago Alcantara, such a key figure in Bayern's triumphs.
The usual suspects such as PSG, Barcelona and Real Madrid will be involved but I will go for a straight fight between Liverpool and Bayern - with Liverpool my tip.
Which team could be the surprise package?
Hard to see anyone coming out of the traditional pack but Atletico Madrid, under the inspirational leadership of Diego Simeone, are always a threat, as Liverpool found to their cost last season.
Atletico have had so many near misses with the Champions League but they have added to their squad with Luis Suarez and no-one will want to draw them.
The other possibility? Sevilla - they showed once again what European specialists they are by winning the Europa League.
Ian Holyman, Ligue 1 podcast producer
What are the prospects for the French sides?
It's hardly sticking my neck out to suggest PSG will challenge strongly again.
Yes, they've lost Thiago Silva, but with Marquinhos replacing him in central defence and as captain, and Danilo Pereira's arrival in midfield, Thomas Tuchel's men are stronger and better balanced.
Andre Villas-Boas worked a miracle to get Marseille back into the competition for the first time since 2013-14, but even with Florian Thauvin fit again, the squad looks thin - a helpful draw might see them sneak into the knockout stages though.
Group-stage debutants Rennes will surely struggle with the step up in class, and grabbing third place would be a success.
Who is your tip to win the Champions League and why?
Can you look beyond Bayern Munich? The Champions League is a notoriously fiendish title to defend, but the 2019-20 winners' success in Lisbon in the summer will motivate, not sate, them. They have not stood still since either: Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (don't laugh!) is great back-up to Robert Lewandowski, and though Thiago has left, Bayern already had an upgrade in Joshua Kimmich.
Their veterans, Manuel Neuer and Thomas Muller, enjoyed one of their best seasons last term, and young talents such as Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane will only keep improving.
Hansi Flick's men will again be the team to beat.
Which team could be the surprise package?
They've been drawn in the toughest section of all, but Istanbul Basaksehir will be no meek victims of Group H. The Turkish champions - that already says something about their quality - have former Manchester United defender Rafael and ex-Liverpool man Martin Skrtel at the back, while ex-West Ham United, Newcastle United and Chelsea forward Demba Ba is up front.
Daniele Verri, Italian football journalist
What are the prospects for the Italian sides?
It is difficult to imagine an Italian club winning the Champions League.
You can't rule out a team fielding Cristiano Ronaldo but Juventus have a young manager in Andrea Pirlo, are in the process of rejuvenating their squad and lack quality in midfield. Their quest to end a 24-year wait will continue.
Inter proved their worth as they reached the final of last season's Europa League and have since signed Achraf Hakimi and Arturo Vidal. Their focus will be on the league title though, something Antonio Conte sees as a necessary step to form a winning mentality.
Lazio do not have the depth to fight on the domestic and European stage and will struggle to keep up on both.
Who is your tip to win the Champions League and why?
Not even the Oracle of Delphi can predict in October who is to win the Champions League in May! Form, injuries and Covid-19 will all play a role. Will there be another lockdown? Who is going to be the fittest when it really comes to it?
In my opinion, the eventual winner will come from England. Spanish clubs haven't invested enough, a second win for Bayern seems unrealistic and Italian clubs lack that extra bit of quality.
Liverpool and Manchester City, as long as Sergio Aguero recovers and Ruben Dias proves capable of filling Vincent Kompany's boots, are my favourites, with PSG their main danger.
Which team could be the surprise package?
Atalanta already reached the quarter-finals in their maiden Champions League campaign and could do even better.
The Nerazzurri have gathered European experience in the past few years and this will be Gian Piero Gasperini's fifth season in Bergamo. His team play with heart and are a joy to watch. If Josip Ilicic reaches top form they will be a threat to anyone.
On Display part 5 - Manu ( a Manuel Neuer series)
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4
"So you have their numbers?" Emilia asks me from the laptop screen.
Emilia is one of my best friends from University. She graduated from Sports Journalism in the same time as I did from Media and Communication Management. We share the passion from football (as if it wasn't obvious), although she is a little bit more outgoing than I am. Being a good student as well, she got a job at Kicker-Sportmagazin in Berlin, so now we only talk on skype.
"Yes, I have their numbers" I tell her, as I'm looking for something to wear tonight.
"That's awesome! You're friends with the players from Bayern München. How awesome is that? Very awesome indeed."
Indeed one of Emilia's problems is that she sometimes can't shut up.
"And Manuel Neuer, oh dear God, how close are you two?"
"He called me his Leila." I say, smiling as I remember the moment.
"Oh gush, there's definitely a thing!"
"Nah, it wasn't like that, Em, he was just trying to calm me down. I bet he says that to a lot of girls."
"Well anyway, he's single right now"
"I know" I admit.
"You've been checking on him, haven't you?" she asks me.
"Yes of course I've been checking on him, you know me!"
"I think you're catching feelings again" she claps her hands together as she speaks.
"Yes I know" I sob, "and I hate it. Because this time I'm not 15 years old and he is in a way my workmate."
"How is that a bad thing?" she inquires.
"Well, obviously I stand no chance."
She opens her mouth to contradict me but I cut her off before she has the chance to.
"And it's only gonna be more painful seeing him everyday. Oh, Em, please don't let me fall in love with this guy!" I whine.
"Shush now, Leila, don't be a big baby. Now show me what you're wearing!"
"This" I say as I flush my black jeans in front of the camera, "and I need to find a pretty blouse."
"That's it?" she asks in disbelief.
"We're just going out, it's nothing that posh."
She glares at me, but she doesn't say anything.
"You should get going" she tells me after a while, after she watched me doing my best with my make-up."Have fun. It's an order"
"Bye, Em! I'll talk to you later"
"Bye Leila!"
*
"We're going to win this match, we're going to be the best, we're going to win this season!" everybody chants in the small restaurant, who miraculously emptied when the Bayern team got at its doors.
I sit in a corner packed between Thomas Müller and Melissa, sipping from my Cola Light and enjoying the show.
"What's up, boss?" Melissa half asks, half shouts to cover the noise. "I see you've calmed down."
"I'm still thinking of something" I mouth to her.
And as I see everybody at different tables, from photographers to website editors, from medical assistants and physiotherapists to fitness coaches and nutritionists, I actually think I got a pretty solid idea.
"We'll talk at work" I tell her.
"Sure boss."
"I'm going to the bathroom" I tell her, as I make my way through people.
When I return, the chants are being conducted by the one and only Manuel, who gets excited to see me and throws one of his heavy arms around my shoulders, basically screaming in my year.
"C'mon Leila, sing with us!"
Oh great, an almost 2-metre-tall giant who is slightly inebriated and counting on me for support. I look at the Coach and I can tell he's not really happy. He doesn't need his players recovering from a hangover at the first match of the season.
"Okay, everybody, I think we've all had enough" he says. "Let's go home and rest for tomorrow"
Slowly, people started saying goodbye and leaving.
"Manu?"
"Yeah Coach?" he answers, with his arm still around me.
"Please tell you're not by car"
"No Coach, I'm just gonna take a taxi"
"Perhaps I should take you home" I suggest.
"Thanks Leila" I heard the Coach sigh. He clearly is relieved his most prized goalkeeper won't roam around the streets of München alone.
"C'mon Manuel, let's go!" I tell him as I almost start dragging him to the parking.
"Coming Leila! This is your car?!" he exclaims when he sees my little Volkswagen.
"Yes, what's the problem?"
"It's so small! I can barely fit in here!" he says loudly, as he's arranging his feet inside my car. "But then again, I guess it's suitable for a young girl like you"
"I'm not young!" I snap.
"Yes you are" he chuckles.
I'm tempted to tell him that his last girlfriend was younger than me, but I stop myself. He's gonna think I'm jealous or something. You are, Leila, you totally are.
"Shut up and tell me where to take you, you big baby"
"Fine, fine. Start driving, I'll guide you along"
I sigh and I try to keep quiet during the drive, as I listen to his directions.
"This is a really small car, how do you function like this? You're going home after you drop me? Do you have a boyfriend?"
"No I don't have a boyfriend" I can't help but snap at him again.
"So what are you going to do? Are you gonna watch a movie? What music do you like? I like U2. What do you think about them? I want to know more about you..."
"Gosh, Manu, you talk hella much when you're drunk!" I say exasperatedly.
"What did you say?" he asks, looking at me.
"What did I say?" I ask him as well, confused.
What if he's pissed off that you told him he speaks too much?
"You called me Manu" he says.
"Well yeah, I guess I did. Is there a problem? I shouldn't have? I thought everybody calls you Manu?"
"They do, it's alright, it's fine." he chuckles. "You've never called me Manu before. I like it."
"Take another left and we're here"
"This is it. Good night, Manu! Get some rest for tomorrow, okay?"
"Sure. Good night, Leila!" he waves at me as he stumbles out of the car.
