📣NEVER BEFORE SEEN IMAGES FROM FASHIONING OUR HISTORY📣 🎉It’s been a year since the Fashioning our History Exhibition! @foh.brent 🎉 To #celebrate this #achievement, Here are some never before seen images from the Fashioning our History project, the seed that flourished, allowing the BTCOTC exhibition to be born (link in the bio!) The photographs feature local model, mother and business owner, Jade Powell @jaydeshenise of #Jamaican #heritage and were taken around #WillesdenGreen Highroad on a #Colour #Film #Camera in May 2021. The camera was forgotten about and put into storage and later developed with the other film photography that was taken during the BTCOTC photography workshop. I was shocked and pleasantly surprised when I found that 27 Images had belonged to the previously forgotten film camera I used on the day the team photographed the Fashioning Our History Ensemble in Willesden Green. The Exhibition displayed a hand-illustrated #fashion #installation piece inspired by elements of the participant's work and the fashion of the #18thcentury #mantuagown were created by myself and the team. By reclaiming this #style of #dress (originally associated with the #aristocratic elite) the installation piece represents a symbol of social change. Fashioning our History @foh.brent supported the community throughout the pandemic in a time of seismic #change, to #inspire the #nextgeneration of #creatives in the Borough of Brent and beyond. You can now view this work in the #collections of #BrentMuseumandArchives. The BTCOTC Exhibition (Link in the Bio) explores the mixed-race and multicultural history of The LLondon Borough of Brent @brentcouncil in collaboration with The Mixed Museum, @themixedmuseum Funded by The Being Brent Wellbeing Fund and The National Lottery Heritage Fund supported by Brent Museum and Archives. @lboc2020 @brentmuseumandarchives @metrolandcultures @brentcultureservice @mayorofbrent.
