Diwali: The Festival of Lights. Today all sad things of the past are forgotten and happy times are remembered. Festivities include "Rangoli", an art form in which patterns are created on the floor using materials such as colored rice, dry flour, colored sand or flower petals. The purpose of rangoli is decoration, and it is thought to bring good luck. Friends and relatives gather together; often providing sweets. Everyone has a wonderful time celebrating the return of divine couple Sita and Rama.
