Je n'ai pas encore fini Aromantic Love Story (je suis méga-lente) mais j'ai la pile de mangas à côté de moi sur mon lit, c'est mon objectif de lecture du mois èwé (...Sérieusement je suis beaucoup trop lente)

Merci aussi pour les autres recos, je suis très difficile sur mes lectures donc pour le coup je ne suis pas sûre d'y jeter un œil super-vite pour être très honnête TwT Mais c'est toujours bon à savoir !

Et oui, je vais à la Japan Expo cette année, on sera au stand S662 avec Better Together comme d'habitude^^

Pour la pride... Peut-être ! Y en a qu'une seule jusqu'à présent dans laquelle je me sens à l'aise, la Pride des banlieues de Saint-Denis, c'est typiquement le genre de pride qui coche mes cases de "less like a party, more like a protest" et où les gens que j'y voient risquent moins d'intimider et plus de r��sonner avec la sex-repulsed que je suis... Bon après je ne suis pas allée à énormément de prides, ça me rassure jamais non plus (again, le côté sex-repulsed qui ne facilite pas les choses parfois), mais celle-là me parle énormément.

Après... Ouaip, c'est très personnel dans l'ensemble. Donc c'est juste mon expérience!

I have to say, all the talk about the Japan exclusive gunpla and people not knowing about Gundam because they don't engage with anything produced outside the west have become hilarious in hindsight after the day I've had.

My journey started when I decided I wanted to find out if my local-ish comics/manga/physical media/figurines/etc. store had any gunpla. To be more specific, I was looking for a HG model kit since I'm new to all this and it seems like a good place to start. So I looked around the store and only managed to find a few anime collections(G Gundam, Seed, Seed Destiny, G-Reco, and 00) on my own.

I try to ask one of the people behind the counter if they sell anything related to Gundam. In return I received a thousand-yard stare and that's barely an exaggeration. Keep in mind this person works in a store that sells manga and anime. In fact the main manga section is located right in front of the counter. This was definitely not a case of someone being uncultured but still drew a black at the mention of Gundam. The other person behind the counter had heard of Gundam though but seemed rather exasperated all of a sudden. What I presume to be one internet search later, everyone gets on the same page. I get told to ask the person downstairs about what I'm looking for.

One trip downstairs later I walk to another counter and wait for the person operating it to return. When that happens I'm immediately asked what I'm looking for and I explain that I want to know if they have any Gundam figurines. I once again receive a black expression, though less extreme this time. After a bit of looking around I'm presented with an SD Gunpla. I try, somewhat poorly, to explain what SD is and politely decline.

So far, so absurd.

My next course of action is to look up if there're any stores that sell gunpla within the country I live in. As far as I have been able to find the only place with a decent supply of gunpla a webshop that has only been active since 2019. It's run by this one dude who went to Japan and decided to bring a couple of model kits and might now be the sole provider of gunpla in the country.

This has been the beginning of Sodasa vs gunpla. The kits I'm most interested in turned out to be more affordable than I thought so this journey of mine is most likely far from over.

Also the fact that I would've had a hard time understanding the vocabulary of the Gundam fandom just a few months ago and look at me now. You guys sure got me initiated fast.

the reason raeliana ended up at the duke's mansion (complete, but i haven't finished. friend says it's really good and there's an anime adaptation. the fl and ml are cool in my book)

who made me a princess (beginner of shoujo isekai manhwa but the story is decent and the art's so pretty)

happily ever afterwards (complete, i've actually finished it, the dynamic between the fl and ml are so adorable!! it's mostly fluffy moments but the drama hits you like a truck)

i'll master this family (ongoing, i like that the setting is set in pseudo-renaissance italy, plot drags on a bit long though, but recommending purely because of the fact i simp for the female lead's dad 🤡)

i feel like i'm forgetting some nice ones but those are the few i can list off the top of my head rn 💀

On the warring states period, it's only been depicted in the Manga Mobile Suit gundam Dust. It's the latest period depicted, albeit before Reco-G. Essentially by that point the Federation was nearing its end and lacked the ability to actually control the colonies. Simultaneously a massive decrease in manufacturing capability led to most mobile suits being low quality, refurbished wrecks, or essentially just parts from multiple suits smashed together. Hell beam tech was actually rare due to an inability to create the high quality components needed. It's called the warring states due to all the fighting in the colonies over who controlled them by various warlords.

SHOUJO MANGA RECOMMENDATION (PT2)

Hi! This year’s vacation opened the windows for me to explore new plots and characters of the shoujo genre. Who would have thought that I would stick to this genre up to this very day. There are just too much feels that could not be resisted and so many ships that have sailed (and some that we wished have sailed). 

Just like my very first reco (which can be found here), most of the mangas on this list are ongoing (during the time I have made this post). I can say that reading an on-going manga gives me thirlling moments such as wondering who will end up with whom, debating why the characters came up with such decisions, empathizing with the characters’ past and so on . It gives me something to look forward to. And these mangas, I guarantee, would provide you emotions that you have been longing for.

My chill-out project from this last weekend was building the very cool Gundam G-Arcane from Gundam Reconguista in G. I love all of the mech designs from that series!

The webtoon/manga "Grey is..." is fantastic.

Everyone go read it. It's so good i completly forgot if this is BL or not. And i don't care bc this is SO GOOD. I'm literally only 14 episodes in and i feel like i have read a a whole book???? The way the story is told, the characters, the plot, oml. I just pulled an all nighter and had to share this with you guys lol
