one of my main problems with lip (regarding mandy) is that he never thought highly of her. like, in 1x03 he shits on her, and it’s understandable, but still, he’s slut-shaming her. and then, in season 3, he never defends her to fiona- and if he ever does, it wasn’t memorable because it was probably like one sentence. she did everything for him and he, in her words, was “fucking blind”. he really didn’t give a shit about her, and everytime he did, it was short-lived. emma greenwell once said something (paraphrasing) about how mandy knows she’s not enough for lip, but she still tries. it’s fucking saddening because in honesty, she’s too good for him. she does everything, treats him well, and puts up with his shit. i wish she didn’t, i wish she wouldn’t let men walk all over her, but she does.
(ik what she did to him in 3x11- but i’m not talking about that part)

Mirrorball!!
AHHHHH A FOLKLORE CLASSIC
It's very "hufflepuff" of her. Speaking about how her friends reflect in her. How she makes people close to her see the real them.
Its beautiful and gorgeous.
A great song.
But not my favorite on that album..... (the real ones will know which one stole my heart 👀)

He didn't even invite her to his own birthday, and it was possible since she got to Japan for someone else's birthday. And some thought she made that mirrorball cake for him and their tour manager because of that ridiculous french on the cake, I'm sure Lo doesn't even know how to bake bread, it's all a comedy show lol I mean anyone saying "they're so cute" is just playing themselves 😂
Well, I think that has rather to do with the fact he doesn’t seem to celebrate his own birthday much. He rather goes on a skiing trip. Inviting her over to Australia would’ve signalled he wanted it to be special and maybe even celebrate it as we know she makes a big deal out of her birthday. So Japan and Mandy it was as substitution. 😄
These two just don’t match at all no matter what anyone wants to tell me.

It was a celebration of everything Taylor Swift in the ballroom as the stars danced to her songs in hopes of making it into the semifinals. Our show opened with a performance of "Love Story" featuring most of our pros. Several later did a routine to a slowed down version of "Style" to promote the Dancing With the Stars tour. I did not see Peta during the show so I hope she's doing alright. Barry, though, was there to cheer everyone on.
Mandy Moore (no, that that one), who has choreographed for the show before and choreographer Taylor's Eras tour, joined the panel as a guest judge. Alfonso also confirmed that bandleader Ray Chew is a Swiftie and has also worked with her before. And all the disco balls were turned to hearts for the evening's celebration. Taylor even sent another video wishing everyone the best before the competition began.
Who made sparks fly and who had their castles crumble? Let's take a look!
Harry and Rylee: I think this was the right outcome. While Harry has made some improvement, I don't think he was ready for the semifinals. However, I think he should be applauded for all the hard work he did to get to the quarterfinals. I'm glad Rylee put a lot more content in their rumba to "August" after Billy Porter's comment about Harry being a tree for Rylee to dance around after the dance off in the last show. He handled it well and maybe if the show had a few more weeks, he might've been almost as good as some of the others but it was just too little too late.
Jason and Daniella: Jason took stock of his position in the competition and decided to fight his way back to the top of the leaderboard. And he succeeded. His Argentine tango with Daniella to "Don't Blame Me" was fierce and sexy. It also included a lot of leg work that he executed impeccably. I also loved his little wink to the camera toward the end. Definitely one of the best routines of the season. I still think he's a lock for the finale, especially as he's now the only man left in the competition.
Xochitl and Val: Xochitl and Val danced a quickstep to "Paper Rings" and it was upbeat and as energetic as she is. We also got to meet her mother during their package, which was a nice treat. She's clearly Xochitl's number one fan. I also think Xochitl is a lock for the finals but she does have to be careful. Some of her kicks didn't look as clean as they could've been so she just has to watch out for her technique.
Charity and Artem: Charity hopes that winning the cha-cha dance off last week will help give her the spirit and energy to beat the others. She and Artem dance an Argentine tango to "Look What You Made Me Do." But I don't think she really absorbed Carrie Ann's comments from last week. She had flawless technique but there still didn't feel like there was much emotion behind them. I don't know if she's a lock for the finals. This was her third appearance in the bottom 3 in a row and I don't know if she could survive a fourth time.
Ariana and Pasha: Ariana feels the pressure now that Carrie Ann said she could win it all. And she delivered with her beautiful rumba to a slowed-down version of "Cruel Summer." She and Pasha continue to have great chemistry and she keeps mastering each move while putting emotion and intention behind it. I think she is a lock for the finals and still believe it could be a battle of husband and wife for the mirrorball - will Pasha or Daniella take it with their respective partner?
Alyson and Sasha: When this competition started, I thought Alyson would only make it a few weeks. I didn't peg her as the dark horse but she has proven herself to be. She has certainly come a long way since her first dance. I do agree with the judges that Sasha needs to let her dance more. It took them 30 seconds of a 90 second routine to finally get into the proper cha-cha. That needs to change. He needs to let her dance from the beginning and show off her moves and maybe they might make the finals. I think it will come down to a choice between her and Charity and either one could go home at this point.
After the individual dances, we had a dance relay. Our couples were paired up and each pairing was assigned a different dance style. One couple was selected to dance first and then the second couple danced. One judge was assigned per couple and they voted on who would get 3 extra points. So let's see how that went!
Ariana and Pasha vs. Xochitl and Val
Our first relay was between two of our best couples. Ariana and Pasha kicked things off and then Xochitl and Val took over. Both danced beautiful Viennese waltzes to "Lover" and it's amazing how different they felt. Ariana and Pasha's had a more classic and old-school feel, like I was watching a routine from a classic movie or Broadway show, while Xochitl and Val's felt more modern, like something you would see today. Carrie Ann had to make the decision and ultimately awarded the point to Xochitl and Val. It was a tough decision and I think either couple could've won.
Harry and Rylee vs. Alyson and Sasha
The second relay featured a jive to "Shakes It Off". The two couples at the bottom of the leaderboard competed in this one with Harry and Rylee going first and then Alyson and Sasha performing. Neither couple have danced a jive before so this was new for both. They seemed to do well enough but I do think Alyson was a bit better than Harry - her legs were more on point during her kicks than his. But both had plenty of content and showed off their dance abilities. However, I do think Bruno made the right decision to award the extra points to Alyson and Sasha.
Jason and Daniella vs. Charity and Artem
Our last relay featured our two "middle" couples, for lack of a better word. Jason and Daniella and Charity and Artem danced a cha-cha to "Lavender Haze", marking the second time in a row that Charity had to dance a cha-cha for extra points. She won last time and hoped history would repeat, even wearing the same style of pants as last time. But Jason brought a little more energy along with technique to his cha-cha, just inching out her excellent routine with Artem, and so Derek awarded Jason and Daniella the extra points.
So that was Taylor Swift week! Next time, we have the semifinals. Now, I have my sister's wedding this coming Saturday. I may not be able to post on time next week like I would usually. So my semifinals post may have to be combined with my finals post. I'll have to see but I wanted to give you a head's up.
I'll see you next time!

On Tuesday, 24 SEVEN Dance Convention announced that Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy are joining the 2019-2020 tour. This signals a big move for ballroom because it's bringing the style to thousands of young dancers, who need to have the training if they want to pursue a professional career in dance.
Break the Floor Productions are the dance entertainment company that manages Jump, Nuvo, 24 Seven Dance Convention, The Dance Awards, Dancerpalooza and Shaping Sound, and they are well-versed in drawing top dance industry names. Nuvo has had great success with former Dancing With the Stars pro Ashly Costa on its faculty, so it makes sense to add Jenna and Val's talents to the 24 SEVEN team — in fact, it's quite a draw to the convention.
This news should be met with applause because it's a strong indication that ballroom is a now a major part of a young dancer's training. It proves that TV dance shows have a strong influence on the trends in the dance industry — both good and bad — but this is one we cheer for.
The dance duo is taking fresh steps in their careers and proving that there is power in numbers, something we specifically talked about in last week's Dance Dish with KB Patreon podcast. Jenna and Val are talented artists individually, but together, they bring another level of strength to their skills. Choreographically, they can bounce ideas off of each other, and in the studio, they can easily show lead and follow when it comes to teaching partner dances. It takes their creative abilities a step higher.
For any fans worrying about their return to DWTS this fall, it's probably not something that should even be a concern. In our book, as long as there is a celebrity for them, they will be dancing for that Mirrorball Trophy.
Break the Floor Productions has always worked around the faculty's professional gigs. In fact, their website states, "Faculty varies from city to city. Unfortunately, 24 Seven cannot guarantee which faculty will be where. Occasionally, some advertised faculty will be replaced by equally qualified professionals."
The company has successfully worked with Travis Wall, tWitch, Allison Holker, Mandy Moore and Stacey Tookey for years, so this is not new territory for them. The 24 SEVEN Dance Convention kicks off Oct.18 in Knoxville and concludes in Orlando on July 11, 2020. Out of 26 events on the tour, Val and Jenna would only have to miss six weekends to do DWTS. We think that's a sacrifice Break the Floor Productions would be happy to make.
With only one season a year now, DWTS is not the pros' sole source of income. It's an exciting time where the pros are exploring new possibilities and creative endeavors. Dance fans should support their new goals and dreams since the pros brought so much to the dance industry over the last 27 seasons.

Dear Delusional Anon: Do you remember Magda, Kiki's old partner who wasn't chosen for SYTYCD when he was, but made it on a later season? If you are honest with yourself (& have functioning eyes), Magda is a wonderful example of what Latin dancing should look like - & even she did not get to the top at Blackpool. JJ is nowhere near her level. (Part 1)
(Part 2) TBH, none of the Utah girls on DWTS are great Latin dancers (not compared to Karina & Peta), but Whitney has great stage presence & Lindsay has proven she can teach. Jenna - she's been relentlessly favored & pimped bec of Mandy & Val, & her toy mirrorball was a gift handed to her by TPTB.

Dancing With The Stars Returns to Windsor For Glitzy New Show
The glitz and glam of the ABC television show Dancing With The Stars (DWTS) was brought to life on Saturday night in Windsor. The professional dancers from the program returned to The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor for two shows featuring an all-new live version of the program. 519 sent photographer Maureen Stewart to capture the action. The cast of dancers from the show were joined by Season 27’s second place dancer Milo Manheim (an actor best known for his starring role as Zed in the 2018 Disney Channel movie, Zombies). He was joined by his pro dance partner Witney Carson. The live show – choreographed and creative-directed by Emmy-winning actress Mandy Moore and DWTS Executive Producer Ashley Edens-Shaffer — allowed the dancing pros an opportunity to enjoy the fruits of the hard labor without having to worry about scoring points from judges and earn votes from viewers. Dancing With the Stars is expected to return to ABC’s lineup in Fall 2019, after plans to skip a spring season as the show evaluates its voting process. The 27th season ended in controversy with country radio DJ Bobby Bones taking home the coveted Mirrorball trophy with much lower scores that his fellow finalists, which included Manheim and Irish actress Evanna Lynch. Classic rockers Cheap Trick are the next act scheduled for the Colosseum on January 17. This will be the third appearance for the band in the 519 in less than two years. They are known for the hits Dream Police, I Want You to Want Me and The Flame. Read the full article

A post shared by Gleb Savchenko (@glebsavchenkoofficial) on Jan 16, 2018 at 7:18pm PST
At what age did you start dancing?
At 7 years old. I forced my grandma to take me to dance lessons, because I liked a girl in the class and I thought this would be a good way to get to know her.
When did you win your first competition?
I was not successful at my first competition and my mum was really upset with me. My mum had this whole conversation with me telling me that I needed to be more focused, more competitive and needed to show my talent on the dance floor. I wanted to make my parents proud and at the age of 9 I started winning competitions.
When did you realize dance would be your career (or one of them)?
At 9 years old when I started winning all the competitions I was competing in, that’s when I knew it would be my career, I was so into it.
Do you have a favorite style of dance and why?
Obviously Latin American style is what I grew up doing, but later on I was introduced to different styles like contemporary, hip hop, jazz and I fell in love with these foreign dance styles. I wanted to learn them well so I could perfect them. I really started liking contemporary and wanted to become better, because I feel like you can tell the story more in a contemporary dance and throughout the dance you can really show the connection between the dancers.
What do you like better, dancing or choreographing?
I like to perform more than to choreograph. With time I have realized that being a choreographer you can translate a story through the movement. Through dance you can convey feelings and through choreographing I can enable others dancers to tell the story I want to tell, through their body language.
You have been on many country’s versions of Dancing with the Stars, what’s the difference between them?
DWTS is the same concept in all the countries but the mentality and the people involved make it very different in each place. I really enjoy the US version because we have no limits. We can come up with a crazy idea like having a shower in the middle of the stage during a tango and we can make it happen! The producers are really supportive of us and try to make it the best it can be.
WATCH:
youtube
You are also a very successful male model, how long have you been modeling and do you plan to continue to model?
I don’t consider myself a model, but I do enjoy taking pictures, it also motivates me to stay in shape. My first photo shoot was when I was 18 and I guess I’ll happily always model if people want me to as it complements the dancing life.
You also have your own underwear collection (Gleb Collection), how did this come about?
People kept asking me for my underwear, so I thought why don’t I create my own line with the names of different dances shown on them? Now instead of people asking to see me in my underwear, they send me pictures of them wearing mine!
What should the South Florida audiences expect from Dancing With the Stars: Live! – Light Up The Night Tour?
Lots of skin, super high energy, fun numbers. There’s a storyline throughout the whole show, it’s really an amazing show, the audience will be mesmerized for 90 mins and will definitely leave satisfied.
What does the future hold for you?
Well I’d love to be a judge on a TV show in the future and hope to take the Pro dance camp, which I’m doing with two other pro’s Artem and Alan, to more places in the US and maybe even to other countries. It’s not been done before and is the perfect opportunity for people who love dancing to learn from and dance with DWTS pro’s. Finally if you guys want a 2019 calendar I might just oblige!
Gleb’s 2018 calendar is available now from amazon.com and tickets for his training camp are available now from prodancecamp.com.

hiya!!
what sort of music do you think debbie is into?
AHHHH YES IM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS ASK
anon i don’t think you realized what you have just started i am insane
marina, this is canon. she says it in season 4, and i will honestly make an entire other post regarding this because she is so marina-coded and almost every marina song fits her (ie. teen idle, the family jewels, primadonna, girls, mans world, i am not a robot), and i think that the time period she listens to marina is so important to her character in a way because season 4 debbie’s mindset is VERY teen idle.
lana del rey, so i think that @l0st4l1fe will definitely agree with me on this and probably have more to say on it, but i’d definitely say lana del rey. the time that she was born makes lana del rey fitting for her, and especially if she was into marina, because a lot of marina fans are lana fans (myself included). and the song “did you know that there’s a tunnel under ocean blvd” is SO debbie gallagher (like the lyrics, “don’t forget me”), also a&w is very debbie. i also think that mandy probably liked ultraviolence, and i’ll say something about mandy in a second because i definitely think that mandy influenced debbie’s music taste.
hole, so some people may know this about me, some people may not, but i am a MAJOR hole fan and i definitely think that debbie would like hole. hole is very much “female rage”, and debbie very much is the character that comes to mind when i hear “female rage”. hole’s song doll parts fits mandy a lot, so i think that she would like hole for that reason (+ the fact that hole is a female grunge band, which she may like), and i think that she showed debbie hole. hole’s song i think that i would die is about losing custody of your daughter, so i think that debbie would resonate with that. and the song she walks on me is just SO season 5/10 debbie and i have no explanation other than she just sounds so angry. whatever- 10/10 band and she may like them.
taylor swift, again, this is kind of just the time that she grew up, like, she was six when debut came out so she was just kind of growing up with that music and i could see her liking it. she probably really likes reputation and folklore (she’s a mirrorball girlie) now, but back in season one/two she liked speak now and fearless.
paramore, yet another band she stole from mandy. i actually could see her stealing this from mandy and ian both because i have no explanation really but ian seems like he would like paramore (the song tell me it’s okay reminds me of him). debbie would definitely like all i wanted and ain’t it fun. those songs are just very debbie.
fiona apple, i actually see this with fiona (gallagher, lol) more, but this would just be her stealing her big sisters music taste. she wouldn’t really like fiona apple, but i think she would like i want you to love me because c’mon, it’s debbie.
lorde, again, kinda just the listening to marina in 2014 set this off. the song the love club is literally SO her in season 4 with holly and ellie (“it’s time the kid got free”, “there are fights for being my best friend” “take the pill make it too real”), i have a post saved in my drafts all about that. and also liability fits (“get you wild, make you leave”), as well as ribs (“and i’ve never felt more alone, feels so scary getting old”.)
i can probably think of more but that’s it for now ok bye bye

Injuries abound on Dancing With the Stars! It's only week two of the quest for the Mirrorball, but plenty of celebrities were already suffering from the physical strain. Still, they danced on, performing the first of two dances for the week. While some couples made great strides forward, others continued to struggle. .................................................................................................. 'Dancing With the Stars' Season 25 Cast Photos! Tying with them were Sasha Pieterse and Gleb Savchenko. Her parents, who had been professional ballroom dancers themselves, stopped by the dance studio to tell Sasha that everything Gleb had been saying to her in terms of what she needed to fix was correct. Sasha did not appreciate that very much, but she did take everyone's advice to heart. Len said their foxtrot blew him away, while Carrie Ann declared that she was a star. Bruno Tonioli complained about Sasha's arms, but it didn't bother him enough to ding her score much. Nikki Bella and Artem Chigvintsev were close behind with a 21 for their waltz. Nikki performed in honor of her grandmother, which everyone thought was very sweet even though they all agreed she still had some work to do on her form. Lindsey Stirling and Mark Ballas also snapped up a 21 with their kooky butterfly-themed quickstep. Bruno again complained about her arms (he was really the arm police tonight), but all of the judges loved how creative the dance was. Debbie Gibson andAlan Bersten, Drew Scott and Emma Slater, and Terrell Owens and Cheryl Burke all landed just behind them with 20s. (Drew had pulled his hamstring, which had cut into rehearsal time, so he did pretty well all things considered.) The Bad Nick Lachey and his wife, Vanessa, have a deal that whoever gets the lower score has to give the other a foot rub, so the stakes are high! Nick and Peta Murgatroyd hoped that he would move from the middle of the pack up toward the top this week, but that didn't really happen. Peta's dress got caught during their foxtrot and they never quite recovered after that. Carrie Ann thought Nick was still too stiff but said she saw improvement and Vanessa cried tears of joy while watching her husband perform. Still, he only earned a 19, which put him near the bottom.

EXCLUSIVE: Gleb Savchenko Says He'll Allow Daughter to Dance Under One Condition, Teases 'DWTS' Summer Tour
brightcove
Gleb Savchenko is known for choreographing some of the sexiest routines on Dancing With the Stars, but will he let his daughter follow in his footsteps?
The 33-year-old dancer stopped by ET's Los Angeles studio for a Facebook Live interview following the season 24 finale last week with his wife, Elena Samodanova, where he gave us the rundown on their life at home with 6-year-old daughter Olivia.

"I don't know [if she'll dance]. Maybe. Maybe yes, maybe no," he joked. "But she watches Dancing With the Stars on the TV. I remember the other day she watched the boys' number [during the finals] and she was like, 'Daddy, I like it. I like your dancing.' And I was like, 'That wasn't me, that was Val [Chmerkovskiy]!"
"She's dancing, she's playing tennis, she's doing gymnastics, she's all over it," he continued. "She's staying very active and if she wants to dance, sure, why not? But maybe she's going to be a famous tennis player."
When asked if he'll ever let Olivia recreate a sexy number like his iconic shower routine with Jana Kramer during season 23 (fun fact: Elena was actually the mastermind behind that piece!), Gleb joked he'd let her do it under one condition:
"Oh, sure, why not? [But] I'll choreograph that…" he stated.

The two will soon have their hands full, as Elena is pregnant with their second child, a baby girl, who is expected to arrive on Aug. 2.
"A summer baby!" a cheery Gleb exclaimed. "[Olivia's] super excited. She just said this morning, 'Mommy and Daddy, I'm going to choose who is going to be putting me to bed, who's going to put baby girl to bed, so you're going to be switching.' Daddy is going to be on the weekend, and you're going to be...' and I was like, 'OK!'"
And while Elena is gearing up to give birth, Gleb is getting ready to hit the road for the Dancing With the Stars: Live! Hot Summer Nights Tour, which kicks off June 16 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He'll be joined by a number of pro and troupe dancers from the dance competition show, along with season 24 champion Rashad Jennings.

"He's an incredible dancer and he has improved so much, so he's going to be doing lots of dancing," Gleb said of the NFL star. "Last time we had Laurie [Hernandez join us] and she was dancing pretty much 50 percent of the show. Rashad is going to be dancing, and it's incredible. We got the amazing Mandy Moore, who is directing and choreographing the whole tour, so, I'm super excited."
Gleb told ET he's not sure if Rashad will be contributing anything creatively (like he did in his freestyle dance with Emma Slater during the finals), but the team all talks about what they want the tour experience to be like for their fans.
"Mandy is directing it, choreographing it, but when we get together for rehearsal, each of us has a little input," he explained. "For example, I want to do contemporary and I want to do -- there'll be one section, a movie section, maybe I'll do a little Dirty Dancing."

Gleb also teased that in addition to Rashad, fans may see a few other familiar celebrity faces from season 24.
"I think several people have been asked and I think during the tour maybe some other celebrities are going to come in and just join us and do a couple of numbers," he revealed. "Maybe Nancy [Kerrigan]? You never know, yeah, maybe. But I don't know for sure. She's awesome. I think it just comes down to whoever is available, I guess. Maybe David [Ross] will come…"
As for returning to DWTS for season 25? Gleb says nothing is confirmed just yet, but "of course" he'd love to come back.
"I'd love to be on the show," he said. "It's the No. 1 show and that's my life -- that's what I love to do and it's what I do."
