Crash Bandicoot: Retrograde

-Precursor Valley-

This would be one of the first areas in this pseudo-game idea of mine to fix certain anomalies in spacetime.

As the name hints, this area would occur in the Jak And Daxter dimension. You may need to use certain mechanics tied to the first game like the zoomer to get around certain areas

-Music-

I imagine the area would sound like this for one of the sections. It fits the vibe really well. Not to mention, Josh Mancell being inspired by some of Moondog's tracks.

-Inspiration-

I based this piece heavily on art by Bob Rafei; A concept artist at Naughty Dog who worked on the Crash and Jak series, and the first Uncharted game.

Interesting that the new Exploding Flowers album "Watermelon/Peacock" came across my radar while I was listening to Club 8. That was one of my easiest transitions between snooping listens I can recall.

This is our 3rd Exploding Flowers post in the past 5 years. There is only one song currently available for listen. The first half has a Club 8 (from the new release) vibe, while the instrumental outro recalls the finest work of Yo La Tengo, or David Kilgour. This song has fuller sound, less power poppy sound, than earlier Exploding Flowers (Los Angeles, California) releases.

The Bandcamp write-up gives a good summary of the bands background:

Led by Sharif Dumani who has worked with a variety of artists which include Alice Bag, Cody Chesnutt, Sex Stains, the Moon Upstairs, Classics Of Love, Nick Garrie, Jowe Head, Nikki Sudden, Silver Apples and many more, the quartet is comprised of members Josh Mancell (the Moon Upstairs, Cell\Borg), Happy Tsugawa-Banta (Lassie Foundation, Ray Barbee), and Mark Sogomian (the Moon Upstairs).

NB- Female Ugandan roles appear to have been modified to accomdate Paige Miller's pregnancy,

Elder Price

• Played as a spoilt 19yo who is severely out of his depth.

• He has an air of fake confidence about himself throughout, and even when he speaks assertively his facial expressions show uncertainty.

• At points he acts very whingy, reinforcing his immaturity and him being out of his depth. This was particularly noticable in the scene at the cafe and in SMHD.

Elder Cunninngham (stand by)

• Is not a skinny nor a fat man, but is dressed in clothes a few sizes too big. Unless they were trying to make him look bad, whatever they were going for didn't work.

• A bit camp at points, for example with the air in man up.

Delivers some lines spoken instead of sung. Clearly a choice and done appears to have been done for comedic effect.

Nabs

• Portrayed quite young and awkward.

• Her behaviour around the Elders, especially Cunningham, is awkward until We Are Africa.

• In Sal Lay Reprise she is annoyed before she cries.

McKinley

• VERY camp

• He is very expressive in his physical acting, and his facial expressions show fear over his camp behaviour

• In TIO during the "being gay" he points and looks squarely at Price (who looks wide eyed and horrified) and then points to Cunningham for "lying is worse. He also runs his hand down his chest to his crouch.

• Maroni is also camp.

Elder Grant/Church

• Very facially expressive.

• In Hello he gets right into Prices' face.

• In the airport scene he had to be led away by Mr Cunningham and hid her head.in his side as she sobbed

Doctor Gotswana

• Practically chased after Price when he said "can you help?"

Mission President/Joseph Smith/Jesus in SMHD

• Pissed off as the MP, Nand shouty. His facial expression at the end of the pageant was sheer disgust towards the Elders.

• Joseph Smith was a bit camp.

• Jesus in SMHD was disgusted with Price and looked at him like he was dirt on the bottom of his shoe

Other

Chris Copeland molested Jack McNiell during the pageant scene, and then gave the MP a lap dance.

Ensemble numbers were very methodical from new cast members, but that's to be expected as this was ony show seven.of the new cast

ROUND ONE

Pit: Hey, it's Zero! Palutena: Right you are, Pit! Zero's a Maverick hunter from the distant future, and is Dr. Wily's greatest creation. Pit: Wait, he was built by Dr. Wily? But he always seems so... Nice! Palutena: Well, he fights for what he believes in, Pit, rather than letting who built him take priority. Pit: Aw, it's nice that he knows what he's fighting for. Palutena: You've already seen Zero fight as an Assist Trophy, so you probably know plenty about his Ryuenjin and Kuuenzan. Just keep in mind you may have gotten him in the crossfire before, and you'll do just fine. Pit: Right!

Pit: What kind of animal is that, Lady Palutena? Palutena: That's Crash Bandicoot. As you can tell by the name, he's a bandicoot, a small marsupial. Viridi: THAT'S a bandicoot?! But Bandicoots are supposed to be small and cute, not... THAT! Palutena: Well, he was experimented on by Doctor Neo Cortex. After being blasted by his Evolvo-Ray, Crash was mutated into the intelligent life form you see now. Viridi: Grr... Those stupid monkeys just don't know when to quit! I'LL NEVER FORGIVE THEM! Palutena: Well, luckily for you, Viridi, Crash here also hates Doctor Cortex, and has dedicated his life to taking him down. You two may have goals that align. Pit: Right... Um, fighting tips? Palutena: Oh, right. Crash's Tornado Spin is his signature move, but it leaves him in free fall when used in midair. Use this to your advantage!
