Thought: In King's Quest III Manny sure is away a lot. But what if it's because he's working on something tricky (and difficult and with ingredients that are a nightmare to get because they have to be collected at specific times or in very specific ways) and therefore he can't be around the house as much.

Surely that child, Gwydion, can't figure out a way to escape. He (Manny) is too great, obviously, and did a more or less fantastic job of training that brat. The next one will be even better. He can get around to replacement after he's finished magicing up this macguffin.
