#man watching spear fishing on local tv is so interesting to me#because you get three different languages at minimum for da fish#(four if you count pidgin)#you hear some with the English name#and then there’s the Hawaiian names for the fish#and for some of them it’s the jamases name#like tako or uni#tho they also use wana#I feel like wana is for the big fakas but uni is for the small ones that you eat#that’s a fallacy tho#and there like in the same sentence#‘once the tako comes outta the hole the papio comes to investigate’#fascinating
