Batman is not "pro-police" and is sure as hell not a Republican
Some people are under the impression that Batman is pro-police, but that is literally so inaccurate. Batman is for police reform and accountability, and he will personally do it himself if he has to. He is anti-gun and believes a police officer should never shoot unless absolutely necessary. He wouldn't have become Batman if he thought the police were competent. He only works with Jim Gordon, because he thinks most of the police are incompetent. He would and has fist fought with dirty cops. He thinks that getting rid of corrupt cops (and politicians) is an important part of making Gotham a better place. He prefers giving petty criminals jobs and social resources rather than having them arrested.
He is not just for police reform but also prison reform, because he believes the point of prisons should be about rehabilitating inmates. He believes that no one is beyond rehabilitation. That is borderline one of his character flaws. He hires former inmates so they can make a living without turning back to crime. He even has a halfway house that former convicts can stay in until they get figuratively back on their feet. He prefers eradicating crime by addressing the root cause, which is often poverty and a lack of social resources.
AND ANOTHER THING- There's this idea that Gotham is a shithole because Bruce isn't doing enough with his wealth, but that doesn't take into account that he is nowhere near the only billionaire in Gotham. He's up against the Court of Owl elites, and a lot of them are board members for Wayne Enterprises and have a say in what the company can and can not do. The Court of Owls plays a heavy roll in politics and most politicians are puppets of the Court and mobs. Politicians that aren't corrupt get killed by the bad guys for refusing to obey. Look at what happened to Harvey Dent. Look at how much money he has funneled into Arkham to no avail. Bruce can not own and control every aspect of every major business in Gotham. No person should have a monopoly on an entire city.

do you ever see a middle age comic book man and KNOW he should have top surgery scars...
[ID: Jim Gordon being held hostage with another, unseen man. He's shirtless, exposing his hairless torso and armpits and a wound on his abdomen. He has his hands restrained over his head by thick, heavy chains and is laying on his back on a dirty mattress. Jim, with unwavering faith, refers to Batman as he comforts the other man: “He'll find us, Carl... But we need to buy some time.” He's giving the other prisoner his blessing to chop off his finger like their kidnapper has demanded. END ID]

(The Road To Civil War)
It's so interesting to see this brought up with other hero's, usually I see this with Batman. But it Really it's goes for anyone with a no killing rule, In this case Spider-Man. At what point are the deaths on your hands cus you didn't kill the villain last time. Spider-Man and Batman don't believe 'the ends justifies the means', to them killing someone is wrong no matter what. it's really easy for someone detached from the situation (or just reading a fake story) to just say yes, kill them. but really when push comes to shove would you actually be able to walk up to someone and kill them?

While it's a popular headcanon, or seems to be at least, I do not think that Joker can be canonically considered to be albino, since his skin would be much paler than it is, otherwise. (To say nothing of the question of whether or not he has any visual impairments, which is a personal pet headcanon of mine, but is also not clearly confirmed either way.)
However, I do still think that it is an interesting idea to play with for an AU. It adds a tiny bit of an extra dimension to his nocturnal tendencies/lifestyle.

i think people try REALLY hard to justify jason’s actions and views regarding bruce’s refusal to kill joker, but i think in turn that waters down jason’s character a little.
bc like, expecting someone to kill the person who killed you would be considered excessive by most standards, even if that person is perfectly capable of doing it. and with bruce—who’s trauma is informed by the act of murder—is not going to look at the context of ANY type of murder and think it’s okay. his morals in that regard are black and white.
jason is of course entitled to his anger towards bruce and his trauma. and THATS THE THING!!! trauma twisted jason’s worldview. it twisted how he viewed what happened to him. he is right for wanting the joker dead, but he’s not right for expecting bruce, who’s also traumatized by what happened, to be the one to kill joker. and that makes him interesting. that gives jason depth—because no character should always be 100% right in their convictions ALL the time.

i've been trying to read more and explore more types of books to see what i like and while i like books that keep it concise, i'm also discovering a fondness for longer, more complex books, and i think one thing i really appreciate about them is the way they can portray death. if a book spans over several decades, it naturally will depict a character or several dying, and these deaths can impact the story in incredible ways, but at the same time it isnt like the story is solely about their death. it naturally depends on the skill of the author and what they're trying to do, but i think in longer books it's easier to show that death is just another part of life, and that's just really reassuring to me
