i die a little every single time someone writes "light years" to describe a distance that was travelled in a month like hello FTL i can stand but that much faster is just. incorrect

#star wars #man is pissy about bad science in the bad science franchise #jar of thoughts #star wars is awful bc even as a dwarf spiral that galaxy is let's say 20 thousand ly across so in a sense #saying “traveled hundreds of light-years between populated planets in the outer rim” makes sense in SCI-fi but in the sci-FI fantasy of #star wars it makes no goddamn sense #time in scifi on this scale js always weird but the idea of a planet blowing up and someone nearby seeing it then flying to another spot #and saying “the planet blew up” but they're FTL so everyone waits around for however long to see the planet blow up #anyways i am incapable of shutting up huh
