Whatever you do, commit to it 100%.

On the surface, this sounds like toxic productivity culture advice, but this is actually something my trainer told me when I was first learning to do hang power cleans. I struggled a lot in the beginning and was pretty scared (rightfully so, the move is pretty technical). He told me that reason I was struggling was not because I wasn't strong enough. It was because I wasn't committing to the lift whenever I put my hands on the bar.

He explained to me that committing to the lift each time is the most important thing because it puts you in a clear-headed place. If you don't, you may wind up hurting yourself because your head is too busy being worried and not focused on the important things, like form and breathing. It took me some time after that to understand what he meant and even longer to implement it, but once I did, I felt unstoppable. So, get out of your own way and do the thing!
