I dont talk about liveship traders a lot cuz i have fitz brainrot but these books are literally so good i just love how robin hobb explores the relationships between the vestrit women and how each of them grapples with their patriarchal society, i love a story that follows multiple generations of a family and how the members parallel and contrast each other, i love their character development and how hobb realistically portrays their struggles with unlearning misogynistic believes and the generational divide in the way they look at the world. I just love the vestrits a lot

#malta has such a cool arc its sansa stark but much better i started thinking she was SO annoying and one dimensional but #that's the thing with hobb - all her characters feel like real people! she is probably the best character writer ive seen yet #and keffrias arc! holy fuck i love it. i was worried it would be about like. women finding empowerment in being housewives and then!#it was about her overcoming her learned helplessness! about her discovering her own strenght and realizing she doesnt want to be #reliant on a man #she became one of my favorite characters so fast i love her #and then theres the past vs the future theme with ronica and malta #and the stranded relationship between althea and keffria #althea is sooooooo good ugh masculine women are everything to me #and ofc wintrow!!! the little guy!!! him being the only male member of the family (by blood. kyle doesnt count) is so important #the gender themes are delicious
