Y'all, I keep going back to read this line. Over and over.

When Reaver talks to Poppy about Malec (and Ires) at a few points earlier in the book, he speaks of them and their actions with anger or frustration or even disgust. Reaver mentions specifically about how Malec stopped caring about those he left behind in Iliseeum, caring more about the mortal realm.

But then he reacts like this when they find Malec's imprisoned body. Whether it's for Malec himself, the friendship they used to have, or for what Malec means to Sera and Nyktos.

Just...I cried. I'm a simp and I cried.
