ok hear me out on this one but……..it’s mal. “there’s no way mal can do that” CORRECT. but hes been working on his arms and its the thought that counts.

ok arcades sleep schedule wack as SHIT…stays up all night working on something>doesnt get enough sleep>dozes off at inopportune times. case by case basis–if mal thinks it’s important and something arcade’d be upset he missed, he’ll nudge him awake. otherwise, let him sleep.

old mormon fort!! mal comes in after hoover dam and he spots arcade and he literally just comes RUNNING and it was supposed to be just like a normal greeting and then it slips out!!!

sorry ben i cant answer this bcos i read it and i got so distracted by the fact that i literally Just Fuckin Never finished my fic where mal gets his ribs broken bcos he tries to fight a deathclaw and arcade nurses him back to health and i need to go write it right now

18. what are their dates like? how long do/did they date? do they ever feel the need to take a break from each other?

malarcade set aside a specific time every week for date night and whose turn it is to plan it rotates every time and theyre always trying to outdo each other. mals tend to be really exciting adrenaline rush or physical things (parasailing, amusement park, salsa dancing competition) or food-based (couples cooking, or in a modern au mal would be on the waitlist for every restaurant in town) whereas arcades are tamer and more classic date ideas, but he also really likes projects and stuff? they build decks and shelves and stuff all the time. and of course after every date they k*ss except by k*ss i mean FUUUUU

uhh they establish that they both. like-like each other sometime during the events of fnv but dont start dating per se until a couple months after. and then they move in after like a year. and then id like to think they just sort of keep going forever? had some thoughts here about them retiring out to louisiana.

yeah i mean i do think breaks are good for couples, but only when theyre paired w communication about what the problem is. mal. wanders sometimes he disappears for a few days and then comes back thats kind of just a part of who he is and god it stressed the fuck out of arcade. and its not like mals trying to get away from arcade specifically and if u asked him to explain why i dont think hed be able to. he just has to go sometimes and be alone out in the desert. and i think at the same time arcade can bury himself in work and research and sort of shut himself off and again its not like hes taking a break from mal hes taking a break from everything.

lihrus considers any activity that he does w aloth somewhere in the vicinity a date. they take a lot of walks. lihrus naps whenever he can so he’ll go in the bed on his side and nap and aloth’ll go on his and read and that counts as a date. they were honestly like an old married couple from day one of dating but not as in “haha they bicker so much haha husbands and wives hate each other” but as in they sit in rocking chairs and hold each others hands and smile

aloth had a big ol fuckin CRUSH on lihrus literally since poe1 and he just held onto it until deadfire so thats a year maybe two of pining?? ouch. anyway yeah i mean once they get together in deadfire theyre in it till the end

god no they wish they had MORE time together they almost never see each other bcos aloth is always in. some far off localé sleuthin and lihrus is in caed nua but god when aloth shows up its instant lihrus running across the field to jump on him and give him a kiss.

21. do they share any interests or hobbies?

malarcade both love to read and watch movies and stuff. also theyre really into helping ppl and arcade rlly likes the bigmt tech so they work on that together.

alohris like kites they love kites and they both have sweet tooths (sweet teeth?) (ok so i googled it and it is sweet tooths bcos the plural of a compound noun is formed by adding s, regardless of how you would normally pluralize the end part of the noun, ie. walkmans, not walkmen, toronto maple leafs not toronto maple leaves) (i just lost my train of thought for the alohris question so lets end it here)

35. do they bring out the best in each other, or the worst? do they have a fatal flaw?

idk if id be willing to say that mal and arcade ~bring out the best in each other~ but they absolutely make each other happy. thats important. im not answering the second part for either of them bcos i hate angst.

alohris absolutely bring out the best in each other!!!!!!!!!!!!!! theyre so good together i mean it theyre so important!!!!!!!

36. what’s their greatest strength as a couple? their weakness?

malarcades greatest strength is that they use enough combined hair dye to coat the entire continent and their greatest weakness is that theyre constantly doing each others root touchups and will thus never actualize their goals.

alohris’ greatest strength is that theyre both really short and could stack on top of each other and sneak into a movie theatre as one regular sized person for half price and their greatest weakness is that the relationship is quite literally doomed to end in tragedy aloth is either going to die young or watch lihrus’ watcher abilities slowly corrode his mind until he’s unable to recognize aloth or himself or anyone else and then he’ll turn violent and aloth will be forced to either kill him (directly or indirectly) or let himself be killed.

after th 2nd battle of hoover dam they spend a couple months stabilizing vegas and stuff and then move to my buddy dex’s goodsprings ranch home w either of them occasionally making individual weekend trips up to the strip/freeside for business (or doing so together, if their duties happen to coincide)

mal isnt super bothered by messy surroundings but they really bug arcade so he does his best to keep the house as spotless as he can. issue being that mals kind of a hoarder so hes got all this junk he refuses to throw out and for a while he just shoved all of it in a side room and arcade just tried not to look directly at the door bulging off of its hinges but one day it just got to be Too Fucking Much so they talked about it and over the course of like a week they sorted everything and built shelves and drawers and stuff and arcade used his perfect handwriting to make a bunch of labels and now its less of a miscellaneous object cesspool and more of a museum of interesting knickknacks

after a couple years the paint sort of started chipping and stuff so they repainted the whole outside of the house and out front by the door they did the thing where u cover ur hand in paint and stamp it on the wall and then they both signed their names and its genuinely mals favorite thing in the world.

arcade claimed the study pretty much and its got a really nice like chemistry station and medical equipment and stuff so he continues his research. mals been trying to write a memoir for a while now but given that he doesnt fucking remember anything its been pretty difficult. on that note, a lot of his time goes into looking for leads on his past life or just general cures for memory loss.

as a final note, mal pretty much always has something cooking so the house just smells heavenly constantly.

lee what was mal & arcade's first meeting like?

jules this is my absolute fave bcos its so gross and storybook and like chick flick embarrassing but hand over my heart the first time they met mal came into the fort (he was looking for work bcos he needed to pass the credit check at the strip gates) and he walks and moves and everything really fast and arcade is really bad at estimating the length of his strides so the two of them just crash right into each other and arcade drops his pages of handwritten stimpack research and mal scrambles to start picking them up and arcades apologizing and then its the classic mal looks up to hand arcade a page and their eyes meet and just go really wide and they both have an internal shit im gay moment like i lose it every single time with these boys and then they both look away and keep picking up papers and then after they introduce themselves and do you ever have one of those conversations where u just ace meeting a new person like u say everything right and ur able to just bounce off of everything they say rlly witty and funny and theyre doing it right back?? bcos that was what that was like they both left going GOD damn. and mal comes back the next day bcos hes very innocently forgotten where julie farkas’s tent is, could arcade please show him? by the way can you tell me more about your research? oh wow where did you learn latin? wow thats cool [confirmed bachelor] perk and the rest is history
