i’m sorry that i disrespected you by allowing dirty hands to occupy our space. i’m sorry for the lies i’ve told you about womanhood and how the only way to survive was to be stoic and not malleable; like soft was a cuss word too repressive for our skin. but, we learned quickly that a razor and a rock can’t survive too long for a heart when you have to carry the weight of that blood. i’m sorry for not introducing balance to you sooner. that i didn’t love you enough to let go of everything, and everybody that needed to go. people who took away. and those who added to the lie.⁣⁣⁣
