So this is how I discover they are making a HTTYD live action??

Anyway hard agree with op, but I also want to add: I saw the trailer for the new HTTYD, and they are doing the same exact movie??? Like shot for shot, same beats same lighting - could even be using the same footage with the actors greenscreened on top movie? why?

Before i got to the 'live action' part of the post my mind was racing because i had the thought, the glimpse - the tiny hope that a how to train your dragon book-faithful adaption was on the works. Talk about a let down.

the worst part about the people pissing their pants and throwing tantrums about astrid's casting (especially the one girl who got mad SPECIFICALLY because she doesn't have blonde hair and blue eyes (which. btw. do you have any idea how fucking weird you sound)) is that... i don't even want this movie. i don't wan't the new astrid. i don't want the new hiccup. i don't want the new toothless. I don't want the new anything. HTTYD was a fucking masterpiece and one of my absolute favorite things in my childhood and re-hashing it for a live action just feels like a cash-grab like every other Live Action Adaptation that comes out every three months. i'd love to just go "yeah i don't care" and move on and maybe relisten to the soundtrack or rewatch the movies if i feel so inclined. but noooo. people have to be fucking racist pissbabies like they are every fucking time this happens (MJ. Ariel. Yennefer and Triss. starfire. etc.) because their favorite character from "THEIR CHILDHOOD!!!!!1111!!!111!!" (read: a movie they haven't watched in ten years) isn't a redhead (they aren't white) or they don't look Just Like The Comics (they arent white) or they aren't blonde-haired and blue-eyed (they aren't white) (also. do you not fucking hear yourself right now???). so now I gotta get up and grumble and drag my fucking feet to defend the casting for a movie I don't even fucking want because y'all have to be fucking shitheads about it. can't even gripe about the actual problem of live action bullshit (movie industry oversaturated with remakes and live action adaptations and unnecessary sequels; animation continuing to be undervalued) because y'all are jumping to do your 17th "BUT SHE'S SUPPOSED TO BE WHIIIHIHIHIIIITE :(((((((" temper tantrum of the goddamn decade that we're not even halfway through yet. fuck y'all
