Day 3 in Maui: the Backroad from Hana. We started the day by climbing the Pipiwai Trail to the 200-ft Makahiku Falls in the Kipahulu District of Haleakala National Park. Next, the pools of Ohe'o that meet a black sand beach at the ocean. Then on to Wailua Falls. We stopped at probably our favorite swimming beach of the trip, Hamoa. And wrapped it up at the beautiful red sand Koki Beach, where I ate some killer huli huli chicken. We took the back road south of Hana to get out of Dodge.
