Hoya/Lee Howon

OK, I was one of the people, who didn’t thought that Hoya’s main reason for leaving the group was either due health reasons (he wouldn’t have joined Hit The Stage, otherwise it would be just stupid to me) or the actor path (sry his passion for dancing is too strong). The main reason seems to be artistic freedom imo. 

I’m not saying that Woollim is a bad company, but just not perfect. I wanted to point out some possible flaws that there was a limited artistic freedom and image choice for Hoya. His dancing cover mainly consists RnB and Hiphop, but that’s for his work as a dancer/performer. While he seems to prefer being a singer more than a rapper on his YT channel. And all songs were ballades with exception of “Problem” in his channel. While Woollim promoted him as a rapper in Infinite H. He seemed to wanted to have his own solo though, which Woollim never gave him.  To me one reason why he opened his own YT channel with the name REAL HOYA.

Infinite’s solo albums and unit groups are to display their own style and preferred genre, but those need to be fitting Woollim’s marketing or make to fit in (and there are definitely less understanding companies than Woollim). Hoya didn’t pretend to be anyone, but couldn’t show his other/full prefered self at the same time. If Woollim isn’t image focused they would have allowed him to do a more mature concept and wouldn’t have rejected his songs (but the rejection might be that his composition either due taste or but also quality).Junyeob is a good CEO with a big heart, but I think he’s not the only one, who controlls the whole company with all the investors and other managers. The goal of a company is profit and therefore sales as well image is important. Like the company paid attention to images like Myungsoo’s persona L. They also forbade Sungjong to do girlgroup dances even though I can imagine that Sungjong himself wanted to stop with that, also I don’t want to start with the diet/starving.Woollim is a good company, which produced groups like Infinite, Lovelyz etc. with outstanding talent and music. But it is not perfect and also a company with goals.

it’s just neither a saint or a welfare institution. At the end Hoya left because of his own plans, passion and reasons and we do send him off postively with few exeptions.  It’s just a opinion and I’m nor forcing it on anybody, I respect your opinion as well. You don’t need to support Hoya (even though I do it, it would be nice if you as well), but those unrational and disrespectful hate/comments are just too much. So I hope all inspirits will be mature about his and respect Hoya’s decision.  I mean just imagine being as passionated as Hoya and working under a restrictive enviroment, not being able to sing and dance the songs, which you would like to. How frustrating would it be and would it be really right and endurable to put Hoya in this kind of situation for other seven years. He waited until the conctract ended and did everything of his obligations. He doesn’t owe anyone anything anymore. He has moved on and I hope Inspirits will do it as well soon.
