thinking about dick being comprised in his desicion making because of lewis is soooo delicious to me. like him making decisions that he wouldn’t make if he wasn’t in love with lewis and playing favorites and disallowing lewis to go on patrol cus he might get hurt. like how when it comes to lewis dick can’t make rational decisions as the Company Commander hes making decisions (even subconsciously!) as Lewis Nixons Husband. i think like the most important scene to me is like in bastogne when harry gets shot. for half a second after harry gets shot the thing dick does first and immediately is push lewis out of the way. you see it for half a second his silhouette pushes lewis to safety like that’s soooooo fucked up! when the shells are flying and his XO is on the ground screaming in agony and Captain Winters has to take charge of the situation as commanding officer, the first thing dick does is get lewis to safety that is his first priority it makes me crazyyyyyyyy
