#ThrowbackThursday: Last Thursday (3/30/2017), my friend and I attended "Rocktopia: A Classical Evolution", at the Palace Theatre in Albany, NY!! "Rocktopia", featuring world class musicians, vocalists, and a local orchestra (featuring the Albany Symphony Orchestra in this video), join forces to honor the fusion of classic rock music and classical music in their two musical performance sets. As part of this clip, Tony Vincent (vocalist for "Rocktopia", a previous contender of the second season of "The Voice"), paid homage to historical figures, musicians, and other celebrities that had contributed to the American society and beyond who have passed on through his cover of "We Are The Champions" by Queen. Not only was this concert for my friend and I entertaining and fun to attend, it was interesting to witness and hear how classic rock bands/musicians (Queen, Journey, Led Zeppelin, to name a few) were influenced by classical composers to create some of their hit-songs that at times, used an orchestra or string instruments to make their songs feel complete.
