hellooo. yesterday i finished the all star jr festival and here are my thoughts.

1 This was an amazing showcase of jr heavy weight talent (let's hope it help the njpw jr division)

2 Shun skywalker. i need to see more of him (and would love to see him work with Bushi again)

3 THE LADDER MACTH. It was an amazing fast paced bout. Was the cheese stake worthty? i hope so because all the wrestler involved gived their all. We can also see the GCW style of Blake Christian (i hope that Francesco can take the GCW title from him on september 1th)

4 one thing we know for sure is that the ABC would not turn on at least each other

(btw i still have to see impact X njpw show)

5 my favourite macth was for sure Mao & El desperado vs The east west express. it was the right combination between the younger generation and "older" generation. the thingh that hooked me the most it is the synergy of the two team not only inside of them but also between them.

Hi, Meg! I'm glad you enjoyed the show! I want you to know I thought of you when Mike Bailey challenged Takahashi for the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship, because that's certainly something different! Although, I will say that someone else also challenged for it at the end of Multiverse United 2, but I won't spoil who as you said you haven't watched that show yet. (Putting the rest behind a cut because I'm sure my answer will get long.)

It was a great show to see live! Philadelphia/the 2300 Arena are among my favorite places on planet Earth, so going there to watch Nooj is always a treat. And I'm glad the show turned out because the tickets were overpriced in my opinion 😶 But overall absolutely worth it! It was great getting exposed to some people that truthfully I might never get to see live again, and I've found a few wrestlers who I definitely want to keep my eye on―but I'll go into that more on the podcast 😉

As for my favorite matches... hands-down both of Kevin Knight's matches (the first because, you know... Clark); the ladder match; the Lucky Dip tag match; and Mao and El Desperado vs. East West Express. I so want to know how they worked out to draw the "right" sticks in the Lucky Dip match, because you know that shit wasn't actually random 😂 Ace looked SO devastated to be on the opposite side of the ring from Bey, he had a legit thousand-yard stare going on.

As for the cheesesteaks, it was hilarious when they presented Douki with a whole fucking tray of them, and I don't think he even had a single bite of one. He has to watch his figure 😂 But Takahashi and Rocky sure went to town.

But even though he didn't win, I was SO impressed with Kevin Knight. And now that I think about it, I'm kind of surprised that Bailey won instead of him since Knight is NJPW and Bailey is Impact? But as it's been discussed, they NEED to expand the junior division, and I'm hoping this is a step in that direction. There are several people I wouldn't mind seeing added into the mix there (mainly Mao lol).

But yeah, I feel very lucky to have seen that show live, and I'll definitely get into the experience and my thoughts and opinions more on the podcast this week!

I got up at 8 in order to watch game 5 of the Lakers vs Grizzlies series from last night. I assumed that because I have the "hide scores" option ticked on the NBA app that I didn't have to worry about the game being spoiled for me but on the front page of the app there was a huge main image of the captain of the Grizzlies scoring a slam dunk under the headline "Grizzlies Triumph. Take series to 3-2". What is wrong with these dumb motherfuckers? (The NBA app that is not the Lakers, though fuck them for losing last night). Now every time I log on to the app I'm going to have to poke myself in the eyes so that I won't have the result spoiled for me. The Lakers are now 3-2 up against them so they still only have to pull one more win out of the bag before moving on to the quarter finals. 

I saw on Twitter that Jerry Springer had died. I have to say I wasn't a fan of Springer's show. Mainly because it acted like it was doing some sort of service whereas of course it wasn't, it was encouraging scum to laugh at even poorer scum. I assume that Springer's rational for the show being an magnanimous endeavor was that by having these people on to air their dirty laundry in front of millions of people it would somehow act as a mirror allowing then to see what lousy people they were and would give them the kick in the tail they needed to resolve to change their ways. However my experience is that people who are arseholes rarely change. If anything being shown up to be a deadbeat Dad on national television probably wouldn't prompt the person to change, it would prompt them to come up with excuses as to why they couldn't change. Using myself as an example I decided to uit drinking over ten years ago when I realized what an arsehole and an embarrassment I was around other people, however I haven't really stopped being an arsehole, I've just removed myself from having any sort of social interaction. I don't want to be around the people who knew me doing my drinking years so they won't be able to mock me for all the embarrassing shit I did. That's not really changing that's more running and hiding. So imagine how much faster I'd run and how better I'd hide if MILLIONS of people had seen first hand what a shithead I am. If the Springer show really was a force for good then they would have done follow ups with the people who had been featured on the show in order to show that they had indeed changed their lives around but then they'd run the risk of discovering they were just as horrid as ever, their appearance on the show had done nothing to turn their lives around and the show itself was in fact just Victorian circus under a different name. A while back Jerry Seinfeld did a show called The Marriage Ref where couples / friends / co-workers would come on discuss some sort of minor quibble / argument they'd had and it would be up to the host to decide who was in the right. If the Springer show was more like this and it was done more for laughs and it wasn't portraying the guests and violent, lazy, commitment avoiding dick weasels then I might have enjoyed it more. Although I wasn't a fan of his show Springer himself always seemed really nice and he even inspired this classic Freakazoid joke so he wasn't all bad. 

I had Luna today. Dad had bought her some piece of shit crafts kit from a second hand shop so I had to sit and play with it with her. Half the supplies were missing and the thing she ended up making was a bunch of lollipop sticks glued together in a square shape with a bunch of googley eyes plastered all over it which she said was a robot. Then she glued two lollipop sticks to each other to form a cross and glued a googley eye to the top of it and said that this was a helicopter. I've been struggling to come up with protagonists for a comic strip for a while but I think I might have just found them and what's best is that Luna is too young to even know what copyright law is and those models she made will probably go straight in the bin so I can literally just nick her designs and there's fuck all she can do about it. Later on Luna asked for some crumpets for her lunch. While they were in the toaster we went back into the sitting room to resume our game and I kept making Luna laugh by acting like I'd forgotten about the crumpets then running out of the room shouting CRUMPETS!!!!! Luna kept making me laugh by mimicking Lisa Simpson, quoting "If anybody needs me I'll be in my room". It's remarkable how expansive her memory is and how gifted she is at mimicry. The only impression I can do is of Shamima Begum but I've had to stop doing it because I've been warned by multiple people that it could get me killed (though I've been told by Jim Davidson that it could make me the next Jim Davidson). 

I watched a couple of episodes of the latest series of Taskmaster which I haven't been keeping up with because it's coincided with the run up to my holiday. Frankie Boyle has been the highlight of the show so far. I especially liked when Jenny Eclair was talking about how she has no musical ability and even at a party she gets a nasty shock whenever people start singing Happy Birthday she gets a shock because it always takes her by surprise. Frankie chimed in with "Surely the cake gives you a clue". There was a task where Frankie was required to catch potatoes in a top hat and I was tempted to be really childish and tweet a picture of him wearing it with the caption "Another thing Frankie has stolen from Sadowitz". 

I went for a run at 9pm listening to a podcast about the life and death of Edgar Allan Poe. This poor motherfucker could not catch a break. Both parents dead before he was 10, adoptive rich Dad wouldn't give him any money so he had to drop out of school, rejected from the army, spent his early writing years in relative poverty and had to beg for food, just as his writing career is taking off his wife dies, then he becomes a drunk and ends up dead in the streets of Baltimore. Well I mean he might have had it bad but at least he didn't have to press skip on his remote every five minutes to get rid of a fucking ad on YouTube.

Ok, this is a hill i will die on, so i want to add my two cents

First let me preface this saying that not all stories can be spoiled. If the story doesn't have a narrative twist/mystery that recontextualizes the narrative you've already experienced it can't be spoiled. Jaws, Indiana Jones, the avengers, those cannot be spoiled bc while they have moment to moment surprises, they don't recontextualize the story. The sixth sense and every good murder mystery are stores that can be spoiled if you want an example of what I'm talking about.

Now that that's out of the way, i want to say that I understand wanting to avoid spoilers, beacuse they do rob you of an experience that you can't get back. I'm talking about the experience of watching the story for the first time, the surprise, that gathering and analysis of clues and the realization are fun and you can't get back to not knowing who is the father of Luke Skywalker.

BUT a spoiler can't ruin a good story, because a story that can be spoiled changes a lot on second viewing.

Think of this: you watch a murder mystery (i want to clarify that it has to be a good one), the most spoilable genre, you watch if the first time and have fun, you are surprised by the murderer and how they did it, truly a good story. So you watch it again, and this time you notice new things, you notice clues that where there since the beginning and it was so obvious how did i not notice?

Now let's say it maybe wasn't that good a story, depending on the competence of the team who made the thing your experience on first watch might be the same. But then you watch it a second time and wait this clue went nowhere? And the murderer came out of nowhere, there's no way they could have done that in the logic of the story! Maybe the story just falls flat the second time. Knowing that plot point did ruin the story, but that's because the story didn't have that many layers to begin with.

Now onto marvel movies, i don't think they're bad, but i also think the stories are mainly sustained on hype, and that's not a long lasting thing. Marvel mainly cares that you go to a theater and sit to watch the movie, they will later upload it to disney+, but they know that most people won't really watch it again so they don't bother adding the layers we talked about (if I can speculate, i think it's bc it requires a greater level of craft and that costs time, money and a level of caring about the stories, characters and audience that they don't bother with, especially now that they know for sure that won't really bring them more money). But also, they know that if you don't follow the universe closely and this is not your character you might just have someone tell you what happens and leave it at that (and you might not even do that because, let me tell you, people will look at you like you're grown a new head if you say you don't care about spoiles).

But hey theres a spoiler phobia going arround that makes some people just don't mention the movie arround you if you haven't seen it. Heck some people won't even tell you if it's good or not, so you have two options, you either miss out entirely or go see the damn movie, and you want to be able to talk to people right, you want to be part of the conversation and also you wouldn't want to make someone talk about it would you? Maybe a person sitting in this cafe hasn't seen the movie and you'll just spoil it for them, or someone's reading the comments and just stumbled on your Convo and now the movie is ruined! That would just make you the worst!

So maybe just go and watch the movie so you can share knowing looks with your friends for a week and then never think about it ever again, bc then you might find out that even if you kinda enjoyed it while you were in the cinema, maybe it just doesn't hold up to the hype the second time.

List of shounen anime with well written female characters!

Cause sometimes it's annoying to watch girls constantly being sidelined or just so not written as an actual person

First 3 are the best written:

-Jujutsu Kaisen (I'd say this has the best written female characters you could find, they're amazing and well rounded and actually have different opinions and struggles and don't only revolve around men 10/10)

-The Promised Neverlands (I've only seen the first season but may read more, do not watch season 2, and Emma is amazing and also the main character which is fucking awesome)

-Chainsaw Man ( to put it simply: women are written as integral characters, written as people with their own wants and desires and fears, are entirely as important as male characters, closest to 1:1 ratio gender rep I've ever seen, uniforms are not gender based, girls can look and have cool moments. Honestly I would put this as first but I know a lot of people are uncomfortable with Denji and his obsession with sex or the Fandom. I don't want to go on to long about this or spoil things so I'll just say it's important to read between the lines and pay attention to small details, things are not face value in this.)

-Full Metal Achemist Brotherhood (tbh I've only seen FMA but I hear FMAB is a lot better and also has a lot more characters so hell yeah more cool girls. Negative is they don't really take center stage but they're still amazing)

-Attack On Titan (Mikasa is pretty average but all the other girls are top tier. I'm not counting Hange as they are gender nonspecific in the manga but Hange also rocks)

-One Piece (this may come as a surprise considering how their bodies are later drawn and same face syndrome but Nami and Robin are amazing, I loved Perona and Iiii haven't gotten passed the clown laboratory place but hopefully the women that show up later are just as awesome)

- Gintama (this is a weird anime and you probably need to have watched a bit of shounen already to get at least a bit of their references but anyways a significant amount of the woman and girls are amazing and just as weird and gross as the dudes in an unsexy lighting. Also they're cool)

Hunter x Hunter (Once again girls are not in a main focus but they're pretty great when they show up! Plus they have a transgirl who's amazing!)

Soul Eater (This one is a split, I don't have any problem with any of the girl characters but some just aren't their enough for me to consider them well written. but the ones thst are are fantastic. I believe Maka and Soul mainly share the main character role so another female lead kinda)

-Dr. Stone (the author seems to like women in general and includes them a lot but they definetly feel less important to the story and don't often push the story forward on their own. Have yet to see a women have an interest in science,which the series revolves around, but maybe there is later? Also only skimpy girl outfits and the girls have a faker looking eye style making them seem kinda less human? I doubt that was the intention but it's a little jarring)

-Demon Slayer (Most of the girls seem pretty great but I'm not counting the main girl Nezuko. She's really got no personality other then loving her brother and humans and kill demon.) UPDATE: girl characters are underutilized and often stuck with feminine rolls which the anime doesn't challenge. I like a lot of them in theory more then in practice and wouldn't recommend this to someone for fem representation but I wouldn't diswayed them from watching it either

-Claymore (I don't know if the anime is any good but the manga is great and also has a main girl character! And I love a lot of them but I also haven't read this in probably 7 years)

-Bleach (this is low for a reason, some of the girls are very well written, some almost were but them bombed and some just arent)

-D. Gray Man (I think I remember them being surprisingly good. I'd put this higher on the list but I don't fully trust my memory)

-Jojos Bizare Adventures (I have never watched this, I really don't know but I've heard about them being great and based of their designs alone I'd agree)

Naruto/Boruto (they're so badly written... and always pushed to the back... and mainly are healers... and fuck Boruto for what it makes most of them become. Fun series but ugh)

Death Note (I love Misa and that one FBI agent but the fact I don't remember her name is pretty telling. This one's more on here because it feels like the writer actively hates women. I mean it works since Light is a piece of shit and him being a misogynist really works but it can be annoying to watch sometimes. I love this show and hate it <3)

-Fairy Tail (constantly sexualizing every girl character and they're pretty bland writing wise. If you don't mind that then watch it if it sounds appealing)

Okay, this is quasi-related to the goofy script shitpost you just sent, I need to go on an unironic tangent about Family Guy- I NEED to get this off my chest.

I actually like Family Guy- mainly old Family Guy when I was 11, I think that's something most people agree with nowadays.

But that's not the thing I need to yell into the void about. You see, Family Guy genuinely has one of the best adaptation parodies of "And Then There Were None".

For those that don't know, "And Then There Were None" is a murder mystery novel by Agatha Christie (that originally had a very "eugh" original title but it was changed, for the better). Not gonna spoil what happens so people can check it out for themselves if they somehow already haven't.

"So Family Guy did a parody of a novel/film, so what? They did it with Star Wars already–"

Nononono– the characters that are killed off here are killed off for good. They do not reappear after this, no episodic reset. James Woods invites every cast member over (they all hate him) and then he gets murdered. Mystery and finger-pointing ensue.

You got the usual Family Guy cutaway gags and references, but nothing too distracting from the big picture. This was a serious episode, complete with an original soundtrack that sounds amazing.

This was a 2010 episode, from Season 9, an hour-long special premiere. Most of the episodes after Family Guy's first few seasons from the 2000s were definitely stinkers, but not this one. The only actual criticism I have is a few animation errors that are easy enough to ignore.

Not going to spoil what happens. I want people to watch this for themselves.

I wish the show did stuff like this more often, but I think if they did that, then this episode wouldn't feel as special.

Despite the laws of the Borderlands and the highly likely chance that nobody knows the actual date that passes by, people still managed to produce what someone offhandedly referred to as the 'Borderlands Holy Day'.

Now, what pray tell was the Borderlands Holy Day? Was it a religion?

Despite the fact that it had 'Holy' in its name, no. It wasn't a religion. Although if someone tried hard enough it could become almost like a cult. Wouldn't be the first time.

So what was it?

Well, obviously.....

It was Pancake Friday. The greatest day of the century. The premise was simple enough: Every Friday everyone gets a pancake. A single pancake. Want more? Well, you better bet and compete for other people's pancakes. The only thing more exhilarating to the members of the Beach than winning games and living another day to party and do fuck-all was Pancake Day.

So, of course, when Friday rolled around, people weren't thinking of anything except the spoils of little bets and competitions over the week, thick fluffy pancakes topped with whatever they pleased and whatever the Beach had in stock at the time. Even Niragi was thinking about pancakes, because what's better than bragging about how many pancakes you got that week?

Nothing, that's what.

Pancake Day was great.

Niragi walks down the corridor with the strut of a man that knew he was feared, and he heads to the dining area where the pancakes would inevitably be given out. People were already there, a few making last minute bets in an attempt to win just a little extra amount for the day. Niragi found it almost amusing. Such a pitiful sight. Niragi himself had already gained a total of four whole pancakes, two of which he won off of some idiot who just thought he was really pretty.

" There's a lot of people here. It must be really important, right?" A smooth voice pipes up from just a little behind him, and Niragi is reminded quite forcefully that he didn't come here alone.

" Of course it's important, it's Pancake Day! Haven't you ever heard of it?" Niragi spat, Sakurada merely shrugging and walking away to talk to other members of the Beach. Niragi scoffs and storms away. At least he didn't have to think about the other him anymore, no matter how neat he looked.

He ends up finding Last Boss standing in the corner by himself, watching everyone else with a self made distance, leaning against his katana. His cat was chilling right besides his foot, apparently having her snack before the pancakes came out and making quiet eating noises. Niragi made sure not to accidentally step on her, which wasn't that hard to do. Niragi stares at Last Boss almost expectantly, waiting for even the slightest hint of a greeting, but all the other man does is stare ahead, lost in his own thought.

So, like a completely normal person would do to a guy ignoring the other, Niragi starts poking Last Boss in the side with his sniper rifle.

" Hey. Hey. Hey. You awake?"

Last Boss just continues to ignore him, and Niragi's pokes get a little harder the more he gets ignored. " Hey! Why are you ignoring me! Come on!"

Last Boss finally looks in his direction, and Niragi grins in victory, Last Boss just staring at him blankly. " Fucking finally, you were ignoring me."

Last Boss just continues to remain silent, but Niragi didn't care, instead putting his rifle back to balance on his shoulder as he looks out among the people still puttering about. Niragi could barely make out that Sakurada guy, who was talking to some random nobodies, Niragi scoffing to himself. He points him out to Last Boss, whose gaze follows the direction of Niragi's slender finger.

" See that one? Yeah, that one busted into my room and kept spraying me with water, the nerve of that guy."

Last Boss mutters something under his breath, Niragi not picking it up properly. He glances at Last Boss suspiciously, Last Boss just continuing to stare off at Sakurada without any sign of emotion on his tattooed face. Niragi groans, and he looks back in the direction of Sakurada, only to see that somehow the bastard has disappeared. Niragi frowns and looks around from where he stood to see whether he could see him again, but no dice.

The area was getting more and more full the longer Niragi tried looking, to the point that he gave up even trying. At some point Last Boss' cat had finished her snack, and he could feel Cabot rubbing her body across his legs as well just for the hell of it. He looks down at the feline, Cabot just doing her own thing like she usually did.

" Hey you little fuck. What's up." Niragi mutters down at the cat, Cabot just continuing on her little rub spree before going over to Last Boss and meowing loudly until Last Boss bent down and picked her up, Cabot resting happily with her butt in the crook of Last Boss' arm and her head and front paws draped over his shoulder.

Niragi rolls his eyes at the sight, and finally the time had come, Hatter walking in with the utmost grace, people cheering him like they do every time they see the man, with Aguni not that far behind. Niragi and Last Boss head towards the little stage Hatter insisted needed to be built for Pancake Day, standing in position as Aguni joins them, Hatter going up to the Pancake Podium.

" Greetings everyone! Today is the glorious and absolutely magnificent Pancake Day! I hope all of you have worked hard to acquire your pancakes!" Hatter shouts with arms outstretched like a bird's, people cheering and whooping excitedly. " I, for one, have a total of five whole pancakes, as throughout the week I have worked hard to get them from my loyal and beautiful members, and that one person who sadly perished in a game and bequeathed their pancakes to me for many months to come! May their soul be at rest, the courage of them~" Hatter announces, the crowd going wild.

" Now, may the pancakes commence!"

People scattered to tables near immediately, and the kitchen doors open as the designated chefs come out with the freshly made pancakes on carts. Niragi and Last Boss end up following Aguni and the rest of the executives plus Hatter to what was apparently the special table, used only by them.

Niragi grins as he leans back in his chair. At least Sakurada would stay away for now-

" Oh, there you are!"

Speak of the devil. Niragi shuts his eyes in annoyance as his clone comes over. Several pairs of eyes shoot to him, and despite his eyes being closed, Niragi could still feel the smug and interested smile Chishiya was giving off.

" Oh? And who are you, you splendid looking being?" Hatter's voice rings out. " Your outfit is immaculate, but I have never seen you before. No, wait...... I have seen you! Except less fancier. And usually with a hat. Who is sitting right there."

Niragi wanted to shoot this man so bad.

"My name is Sakurada Dori, it is very nice to meet you." Sakurada greets them.

Niragi finally bothers to open his eyes as Hatter stands up, and apparently does a quick check over of Sakurada, nodding to himself. " Yes, you are absolutely stunning. I love what you've done!"

" Are you the one that made Niragi take off his hat?" Aguni asks, low and stoic as always. Niragi rolls his eyes at that. He didn't intend to get rid of his hat, Sakurada just kind of yeeted it outside his window without even asking. The nerve of this guy.

Sakurada quickly nods. " I will get him another hat eventually, as I promised, but only as long as he shoots his gun responsibly!"

" What?!" Niragi shouts, and he stands up, slamming the table. Aguni watches him quietly, as does Last Boss, the latter just staring more than a tired gaze like Aguni was sporting at the moment. " You can't do that!"

" But I can! I'm the leader after all, I can say what I want, and what I want is practically law here, Niragi. Remember who your boss is." Hatter smiles at Niragi in that sort of way that Niragi hated, but a firm tap on his arm by Aguni made him relent, Niragi angrily muttering to himself as he sat back down.

" Ah, thank you very much, but I don't need to take his-"

" Nonsense, you deserve it! Besides, Niragi already gets... how many?"

" Well I had four, but apparently not anymore."

" Three is plenty for you! Anyways, so that means you get two pancakes, you funky little ball of glory!" Hatter states.

" Are you sure? Is that alright with you Niragi?" Sakurada looks to the man, Niragi just grumbling some more.

" Don't worry about him, he'll get over it." Chishiya mentions, and Niragi quickly glares at him, Chishiya casually looking back with that damn smug ass smile on his lips.

" Fucking undercooked egg white." Niragi mutters under his breath, Chishiya just continuing to smirk.

Still, the pancakes arrive to their table, Hatter inviting Sakurada to sit with them for the day so he could talk about fashion, mainly about what kinds of hats the other liked, Sakurada easily falling into conversation with him. Niragi just drowns his now three pancakes in maple sauce, grumbling under his breath.

Last Boss was watching Niragi just nearby, eating his single pancake as Cabot got to treat herself to two whole cat-specified pancakes like she deserved, and goes to whisper to his cat, Cabot flicking her tail a little at whatever Last Boss muttered.

" You have a very nice cat there! It must be enjoying everything since it appears to be very well cared for and happy." Sakurada mentions at one point, Last Boss staring at Sakurada silently. Sakurada just politely smiles back, and Last Boss just slowly blinks, then nods.

" Thank.... you." Last Boss says, and Cabot looks up finally, and bumps her body against Last Boss, the man quietly petting her as Sakurada watches with a happy expression at how sweet the sight was. Sakurada makes small clicking nosies in an attempt to beckon the cat over to him, Cabot meowing and wandering over curiously, sniffing at Sakurada's fingers before letting herself get pet by the man softly. " She seems to like me already!" Sakurada says happily, Last Boss slowly nodding.

" That's good. She likes being pet gently." Last Boss mutters, and even Hatter tried to get in on the cat patting session.

" Hey Niragi." Chishiya's voice catches Niragi's attention, and he looks up at him, already despising of what he was about to spew out from his lips. The limestone fox man just smiles at him, pancakes already gone from his plate.

" The fuck do you want now."

" Your clone is actually way better than you. Perhaps even smarter than whatever half brain you have up there." Chishiya remarks, and with that he stands up and walks away from the table, immediately sliding himself into a group of people leaving and disappearing from his sight.

" YOU LITTLE FUC-" He whips out his gun, ready to chase Chishiya down and kill him like he always wanted to.

Water gets immediately sprayed on his face the second he stands up again, Niragi sputtering. " No. Bad Niragi."
