when a celebrity hates using social media and hates self-marketing i get instantly more attracted help me ToT
#rant#mainly because. i hate self marketing. its why i fail as a digital artist lol! i cant! i CANNOT self market lol#i hate sharing my real life with strangers Especially in a goddamn marketing ploy to seem friends#i hate marketing ploys of pushing my stuff AT other people like?? if they dont care i respect that???#so like the MOST i do is stay in my lane reblogging my stuff to get more exposure during timezones#i dont add personal-marketing of my 'personality' attempts. i HATE when [people use manufactured (or excessive) personal drama to drive#attention (aka market). i imagine i will also fail as an author for this reason.#if i ever write and publish it will be mainly so i can say i did it and own a copy of my own book. since fuck knows like 3 people would buy#it. with how BAD i am at self marketing.#ive always wanted to work for a company if i did art for a living. just because then THEY are the marketers not me. but unfortunately nowada#ys even a lot of company-working artists are expected to self market FOR the damn company. which is even more repulsive to me than self-mark#eting for my own damn business.#all this to say. i appreciate how zhu yilong barely posts on social media except when its his studio updates (aka studio marketing him)#its less personal and i LOVE that. i love that his private business isnt showcased or marketed mcuh#i love that his instagram is generally barren except for a few posts He seemed to like#i love that his weibo is mostly studio-marketing and his other self-marketing is mainly shows/entertainment interviews#which are much more business-oriented professional marketing things and WAY less personal-revealing#i looked up Ma Tianyu the other day. dude said he didnt even want a weibo. PHENOMENAL. SAME DUDE SAME#i dont even have a facebook. i dont have a snapchat. i have an instagram but keep deleting it and only check when phone contacts#bug me and mention to me they sent something on it. i used to have a weibo but didnt use it in so long i got logged out#and now i browse the weibo app without a dang account ToT#i Hate twitter and wont use it cause it feels it expects me to 'sell myself' too much its horrific#like... i am NOT good at self marketing dear god. boy do i relate to a person who also manages to do less of it#also. if i ever had a co-partner in a business? id beg them to be a skilled self-marketer. cause im sure not. and#unfortunately in the current climate. u wanna be a self made artist or writer -n- self marketing is MAKE or break#i have like 700 art followers on tumblr. but 700 is#nowhere near enough to get even a single commission. maybe if i had 10k followers. but i am not an interesting Personality that self-markets#so :/
