2024 Hyundai Alcazar Launched In India At ₹ 14.99 Lakh: Price, Specs, Features
Hyundai India has launched an updated avatar of its 7-seater SUV - Alcazar. The Creta-based 3-row SUV was long due for a mid-cycle refresh. The 2024 Hyundai Alcazar facelift is launched at a special introductory starting price of ₹ 14.99 lakh for petrol variants and ₹ 15.99 lakh for diesel variants. It will continue to take on its existing set of rivals - Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector, Citroen C3 Aircross, Kia Carens and more. In the last few months, the Alcazar has been a dull seller. The update, however, is expected to add some more numbers to the SUV's monthly sales tally.
The 2024 Hyundai Alcazar isn't just a stretched-out Creta, in terms of its looks. It opts for a bold-looking design theme, comprising of a rather butch-looking front facet with H-shaped connected LED DRLs, a large radiator grille, and a wide scuff plate.
Around the sides, the big change is the addition of new 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, bigger rear quarter windows, black-painted cladding, and bridge-type roof rails. The rear face of the Alcazar is also heavily tweaked with the use of a new spoiler, a reworked bumper, and a fresh design for the skid plate. It also gets connected LED taillamps with sequential turn indicators.
As for the dimensions, the Alcazar is 4,560 mm in length, 1,800 mm wide, and 1,710 mm tall. In comparison to the outgoing model, the 2024 Alcazar is 60 mm longer, 10 mm wider, and 35 mm taller. The wheelbase remains unaltered at 2,760 mm.
On the inside, the big change on the 2024 Hyundai Alcazar is a new dashboard layout, which is borrowed from the facelifted Creta. The cabin is now upholstered in new shades - noble brown and haze navy. The dual-tone treatment gives a premium appeal to the overall cabin.
Besides, the 6-seater variant now features ventilated second-row seats with folding armrests, which improve the accessibility to the third-row. Unique thigh extenders are a key highlight of the Alcazar's interior.
The bold new Hyundai Alcazar will be offered in 9 colours with 8 mono-tone options including the new Robust Emerald Matte, Titan Grey Matte, Robust Emerald, Starry Night, Ranger Khakhi, Fiery Red, Abyss Black, Atlas White, and 1 dual-tone colour option available in Atlas White with Black Roof.

Everyone Is Talking About The Mahindra XUV700 Makes
We simply loved this article by Kabelo Chabalala about the Mahindta XUV700 for sale - a new-age luxury SUV available in South Africa.
On two occasions, the Mahindra XUV700 almost gave me a heart attack.
The first instance involved parking in the underground parking at the Mall@Reds in Centurion for a quick supermarket dash. Upon my return, five car guards were surrounding the car, frantically looking for something. I was alarmed! And paranoid that someone had bumped the car.
The real reason was far more innocent.
About 10 metres from the car, I took out the car key to unlock it. This was to signal to them that I was approaching, but instead of them moving away from the car, at the sight of the pop-up door handles, they lost their cool and started screaming. They were in total awe. The top-of-the-range 2.0T AX7 L finished in its signature Electric Blue hue had them losing their minds. In unison, they all asked, “Which brand is this beautiful car? We circled the car trying to find the name with no luck. We also don’t recognise the logo”.
In the second incident, I had taken the car for a wash around Centurion. As I sat at a restaurant across the car wash, I watched a man, probably in his late 40s or early 50s, walking straight to the bay where they were vacuuming the car, to inquire about it.
He circled the car three times while I watched from a distance.
Luckily, I had told the ladies and gentlemen at the car wash where I would be, and one of them came to me to ask about the car and confirm the brand name.
It dawned on me that either the carmaker did not make enough noise about the new Mahindra SUV logo, or people are simply ignorant. Nevertheless, the new logo debuted on the XUV700, which explains why a lot of people did know that it is the new Mahindra logo, specifically for their Sport Utility Vehicle range.
This particular change was inspired by the brand’s belief that as a driver of one of their SUVs, you can go where you want, when you want, in complete style. And style was not in short supply when it came to the XUV700. The biggest talking point of this car for me is the price the XUV700 is for sale at, which is no more than R560,000 for the top-of-the-range variant, AX7 L, which I drove.
It comes in three offerings - the mid-specced AX7, which will make your pocket less rich at just over R500,000, and the AX5 base model, which is priced at around R480,000.
Anyone with a big family will be happy with this price tag. And it is not a lazy car.
When you get on the open road, with all three powered by a 2.0-Litre turbo petrol engine, the acceleration to the legal maximum speed of 120km/h makes you appreciate the 149kW and 380Nm it produces. It is a front-wheeler with a six-speed automatic gearbox.
With its big size, I found myself wishing for a moment it was an all-wheel drive, but I quickly remembered that this car was for comfort, proving it is indeed targeting family-oriented customers. I am willing to bet that, had I kept that car for one more week, there would have been even more drama surrounding it, from the church parking lot to our garage.

Mahindra & Mahindra hikes vehicle prices by 2.5% as commodity prices surge
Mahindra & Mahindra on Thursday said it has increased prices of its entire model range by 2.5 per cent with immediate effect.
This will result in an increase of Rs 10,000 to Rs 63,000 on the ex-showroom prices across the range, depending upon the model and the variant, the home-grown auto major said in a statement.
The price revision is the result of a continuous increase in prices of key commodities such as steel, aluminium, palladium, etc, it added.
"The company has taken necessary initiatives to partially offset the unprecedented hike in commodity prices to absorb the impact, passing a minimal percentage of cost increase to customers through a price revision," M&M noted.
The company, which sells models like Thar and XUV700, is working with its sales and dealer network to communicate the new prices to the customers appropriately, it added.
Earlier this month, the country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) has also announced an increase in prices of its entire model range amid rise in input costs. The company is yet to come out with the quantum of the price hike.
Over the past year, the cost of the company's vehicles continued to be adversely impacted due to increase in various input costs, MSI had noted in a regulatory filing.

Mahindra XUV 700 gets 25,000 bookings in 57 minutes, equaling 6-mth output
Mahindra XUV700 clocked 25,000 bookings in its first 57 minutes on Thursday, Mahindra and Mahindra said, terming it an “unprecedented milestone in the Indian automotive industry”.
The 25,000 units of the recently launched model is equivalent to up to six months of production, depending on the variant. It also makes the XUV700 the first four-wheeler in India to hit this milestone, the company claimed.
With prices starting from Rs 1,249,000 to Rs 2,299,000, the XUV500 replacement is available in five trims, multiple variants (petrol, diesel, automatic and manual transmission) and five- and seven-seater configurations. While the five-seater model rivals mid-size SUVs such as Creta and Seltos, the seven-seater model competes with the Tata Safari, Toyota Innova and MG Hector and Hector Plus.
“While we anticipated the traffic and prepared our system with added server capacity, the overwhelming response could have regrettably led to a slow user experience by some of our customers,” said Veejay Nakra, CEO, Automotive Division, M&M.
The XUV700, which will replace the XUV500, has also received more than 260,000 inquiries since its name was revealed, M&M said.
India sold 523,012 units of SUVs in the first five months of the ongoing fiscal, according to Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (Siam). The body type now accounts for 36 per cent of the total PV sales, up from a fourth a year ago. The booking of 25,000 units of the XUV700 model is almost 20 per cent of the monthly industry volumes of the SUVs. “Many would have booked the model simply due to the uncertainties related to the delivery. The shortage of semiconductor has only deepened in the recent past. A long waiting period may prompt buyers to cancel bookings,” said an analyst.
The Mumbai-headquartered firm will now recommence the bookings from 10 am on Friday.

The Time To Buy A Mahindra XUV500 SUV Is Now
Its production is slated to end soon and make way for its spiritual successor, the XUV700
Mahindra’s mid-size SUV, the XUV500, has been on sale for a decade now.
The current-gen XUV500 is being offered at great prices. So, if you’re looking to buy the XUV500, this could be your last chance as its production is likely to cease soon to make way for the upcoming XUV700 (the XUV500’s spiritual successor).
Is This the Best Time to Buy the XUV500?
If we consider the top-spec model, it can be availed at around under R500,000. This brings the SUV’s price much closer to those of the range-topping variants of the smaller compact SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta While the XUV500’s design has started feeling outdated compared to that of the Hyundai-Kia duo, it is still more spacious with a decent equipment list (save for a few misses including a panoramic sunroof and ventilated front seats). So if you can ignore these factors, the XUV500 certainly makes for a good value-for-money proposition.
While Mahindra will finally be discontinuing the ageing XUV500 for a brief period, the nameplate will be resurrected in the coming years, albeit as a 5-seater model rivalling the Hyundai Creta rival. Presently, it is a 7-seater SUV offered with a sole 2.2-litre diesel engine, developing 103Kw and 330Nm. It comes paired with a 6-speed manual or auto gearbox.
The XUV700, on the other hand, will come with Mahindra’s brand new engines that debuted with the Thar, although in a more powerful state of tune. Mahindra is expected to offer the SUV with both 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. A segment-first optional all-wheel drive (AWD) will also be available.
The XUV700 is likely to be launched at a possible price that is noticeably higher than the current XUV500’s price range.

New Post has been published on https://www.autohubindia.com/mahindra-xuv700-will-launch-in-second-half-of-2018-year/
Mahindra XUV700 will Launch In Second Half Of 2018 Year
Mahindra & Mahindra is upping their SUV game in India and abroad. The automaker even established a plant in the USA last year to produce electric SUVs for the local market there. Even in India, Mahindra wants to be associated only with utility vehicles. Mahindra’s electric wing is also working on converting the KUV100 into electric and a pre-production model was showcased at the recent Auto Expo. Also present at the expo was the upcoming XUV700, which, upon launch, will mark the most powerful and premium offering by the automaker. Mahindra has a pact with Ssangyong to import CKD kits till 2023 and the automaker plan to bring in the Rexton and the Tivoli albeit under Mahindra’s brand name itself.
Mahindra XUV700 India launch is expected around the festive season of Diwali this year. Initially, the Mahindra XUV700 will be available in limited numbers and in limited parts of the nation to develop hype around it. Expect the full-size SUV to carry a price tag of around INR 25 lakh upon launch. Reports suggest that Mahindra will start importing and assembling kits around mid this year. Upon launch, the Mahindra XUV700 will compete with the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Hyundai Santa Fe.
Under the hood of the XUV700 is a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel unit that’ll churn out 178 bhp of power and 420 Nm of torque. The power output should be enough to compete with the Fortuner and the Endeavour while the latter is slightly more powerful than the XUV700. The engine will come mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox as standard while the top-end variant will carry the four-wheel drive with low ratio transfer box.
The interior of the upcoming Mahindra XUV700 feature abundant use of luxurious material like leather and soft touch plastic. The touchscreen infotainment system sits neatly in the middle of the dashboard. Expected the XUV700 to be loaded with features to the brim. Safety features like six airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control will be offered as standard. Several features to be expected on the XUV700 will be 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 10.1-inch display for rear passengers, automatic climate control, mood lighting, projector headlamps with LED DRL, hill descent control, active rollover protection and leather seats with massage function.
As for the sales and service, Mahindra official outlets across the nation will cater as required. Stay tuned for more info on upcoming Mahindra SUV.
