i had no idea you were a northern exposure fan! that's so cool! I am too, I watched it when I was a kid and I still think of it fairly regularly. Who is your favorite character? Mine are Ed, Shelly, and Holling. Also, fun fact, Darren Burrows, who plays Ed, is the son of Willian Burrows, AKA Billy Drago, a horror actor who was in Supernatural, Bewitched, the Untouchables, and other stuff. His grandfather was also an actor.
Yes! It was on the TV a lot when I was a kid, and it integrated into my life in a lot of different ways I didn’t notice until I started rewatching it (I’m partway through season 3 rn). Plus I live in Washington so I’ve been to most of the local filming locations.
Ed was my all-time fave when I was a kid, and I still really enjoy him. Marilyn is iconic and I appreciate her character so much. I actually really do like Joel, especially when he chills out a little bit. The older I get, the more relatable he becomes. And I’ve always loved Maggie O’Connell, I used to dream of being a bush pilot because of her. She’s badass!
Woah that’s so cool, I had no clue that he’s from a family of actors!
It’s really interesting, since I’ve started reblogging some things on it I’ve heard from multiple people that they’ve been thinking about it a lot recently and/or have started rewatching it. I think we’re all desperate for that small town vibe where everyone is eclectic and accepted.

Braves Hang On To Beat Twins.
Braves 7 Twins 6 W-Vodnik (1-0) L-Happ (1-1) SV-Tarnok (1)
The Minnesota Twins returned home to close out the last weekend of Grapefruit League play. The Atlanta Braves made the short trip down to Fort Myers to play the Twins in their last meeting of the spring. The Twins bats eventually got the scoring started in the third inning. With two outs, Kyle Garlick blasted a Nate Jones fastball out to left-center for a solo homer. It was his fifth homer of the spring and put the Twins on the board. The Twins got back to work in the fourth as Willians Astudillo smacked a Grant Dayton slider out to left-center for a solo blast. This put the Twins up 2-0 after four innings of play. Kenta Maeda exited the ballgame after four scoreless innings and JA Happ entered in the fifth. The Braves greeted him with a Johan Camargo double to left. Cristian Pache lined a base hit to center and Alex Jackson plated a pair with a singled to center. This tied the game up at two apiece. Miguel Sano answered in the bottom of the fifth when he smoked a Grant Dayton slider out of the ballpark in left field. The solo homer put the Twins up 3-2 after five innings of play. The Braves bats teed off on JA Happ in the seventh. William Contreras started it all with a lead-off single then Phil Ervin walked. Ender Inciarte lined a run-scoring double to left to tie the game. Ehire Adrianza followed with a two-run single to center and a wild pitch scored another run. This put the Braves up 6-3, but the Twins didn’t go away quietly in the eighth. Jose Miranda hammered a William Woods fastball out to left for a solo homer and Minnesota was within a pair of runs. The next batter, David Banuelos smoked a Woods slider out to left-center for back-to-back home runs. The Twins were within a run as we headed into the ninth inning. The Braves would get some insurance in the ninth. Braden Schewmake started it all with a one-out walk. Sean Kazmar lined a single to left and Bryce Ball hit an RBI single to left. Atlanta now had a two-run lead with three outs to get. Drew Maggi started a dramatic ninth with a walk. He went to second on a wild pitch and scored on an Aaron Sabato single to right. Rob Refsnyder singled to center and Jose Miranda walked to load up the bases with two outs. Freddy Tarnok struck out David Banuelos to end the game and the Braves held onto the win tonight.
-Final Thoughts- Kenta Maeda finished off a great spring with another quality performance. He threw four shutout innings and allowed three hits with four strikeouts. JA Happ struggled, but got his work in. He went 3 2/3 innings and allowed six runs on ten hits with four strikeouts and a walk. He threw 73 pitches, so it looks like he will start the year in the rotation after a late spring start. Tom Hackimer got out of the eighth. Tyler Duffey gave up a run in the ninth. The Twins scattered nine hits tonight and hit 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position. They left ten men on base. Thoughts and prayers go out to Mike Bell and his family tonight. Mike passed away earlier today after a bout with kidney cancer. I didn’t realize the severity of his health. Tomorrow, the Rays come down to Fort Myers as Tyler Glasnow faces Lewis Thorpe in a Saturday matinee.

Sano Shines In Dominican Exhibition!
Twins 7 Tigers 6 W-Reed (1-0) L-Garcia (0-1) SV-Coulombe (1)
The Minnesota Twins and Detroit Tigers headed out to the Dominican Republic for a fun Spring Training game. Both teams are full of Dominican players, so a fun exhibition went on today. The Tigers got the offense going early in the first inning. Victor Reyes and Dawel Lugo started the day with singles. With one out, Jeimer Candelario hit a run-scoring double to left and the Tigers were on the board. The next batter, Jorge Bonifacio hit a sacrifice fly to center and Brandon Dixon doubled home another run to cap off a three-run first for Detroit. The Twins would answer in the second inning as Alex Avila led-off with a single. After two groundouts, Alex Avila reached third base and Travis Blankenhorn hit an RBI grounder to first to put the Twins on the board. The Twins would get back to work in the third inning. Nelson Cruz singled with two outs and Miguel Sano crushed a Daniel Norris offering out to left for a two-run blast. This tied the game at three, but the Tigers would answer in the bottom of the third. Harold Castro led-off and belted a Devin Smeltzer pitch out to right for a solo homer. Two batters later, Jorge Bonifacio smacked a Smeltzer pitch out to left for a solo blast of his own. Detroit took a 5-3 lead after three innings of play. The Twins got back to work in the fifth inning. Willians Astudillo led-off with a single to left and Nelson Cruz doubled with one out. Miguel Sano drove in a run with an infield single and the Twins were within a run. Later in the inning, Alex Avila drove in a pair with a double to right and Minnesota took a 6-5 lead. The Tigers would rally in the bottom of the fifth. Brandon Dixon drew a one-out walk and Eric Haase hit an RBI double to left. This knotted the game at six after five frames. The Twins would pull ahead in the seventh. Drew Maggi hammered a Rony Garcia pitch out to left for a solo homer. This put the Twins on top 7-6 and they never looked back. Jhoan Duran, Caleb Thielbar, and Daniel Coulombe each threw a scoreless inning each and the Twins picked up the win in Santo Domingo today.
-Final Thoughts- Devin Smeltzer got roughed up a bit today. He allowed five runs on eight hits in three innings of work with two strikeouts. Taylor Rogers had a clean fourth, Jorge Alcala gave up a run in the fifth, and Jake Reed fanned one in the sixth. Jhoan Duran struck out two in a 1-2-3 seventh, Caleb Thielbar had a scoreless eighth, and Daniel Coulombe tossed up another zero in the ninth. Willians Astudillo, Nelson Cruz, Miguel Sano, and Alex Avila led the team with two hits each. The team hit 2-for-9 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base. The Twins brought over eight Dominican players on this trip. Nelson Cruz, Miguel Sano, Daniel Ozoria, Yunior Severino, Wander Javier, Gilberto Celestino, Jorge Alcala, and Jhoan Duran all made the trip to their home country. It had to be a thrill for every single one of them. Tomorrow, the Red Sox come across town and old friend Martin Perez gets the start. The Twins starter is undetermined. .
