I can see a world where we sack Ten Hag, get Southgate, Leicester pick him up in a heartbeat, and they beat us in qualifying for a European competition. 😬 He’ll take Licha and Malacia with him for sure, leaving us with Magelof at center back again, and only Shaw at left back (assuming Shaw’s even fit). Watch Malacia suddenly stay fit because they’re actually helping him recover.

Second season, if Hojlund doesn’t have a great season under the new manager, he’ll come for him too because he knows that United are used to selling expensive players at a massive loss. That and we probably kept Sancho on his wages so they’ll need to offload to recoup some of their money. They qualify for Champions League while we’re scrambling to qualify for the Europa League…again. Careful what you wish for. 😬

Tactical Takeaway:

West Ham finally realized they’re not playing against Varane and Licha so they started playing balls through the center backs and passes into the six yard box; they know Magelof well. 😬 Sabitzer or McTominay need to realize who’s behind them as well and be more selective when they go forward.

It’s also hindering our fullbacks, unfortunately, because they know they’re leaving those two behind to defend alone. They’re reluctant to overlap and help the wingers in attack and it’s making the wings easy for them to defend and difficult for us to exploit. 🧐

I wish I posted this thought I had yesterday before the match:

A good coach that is thinking, that is actively involved in the development of the team’s strategy and performance would set them up in the best formation with the right players to win this game. Ole’s beaten City multiple times in the 4-2-3-1 despite having McFred and Magelof in the lineup, so if he’s as capable as people think he is he’ll use that formation again. Spurs didn’t try last weekend and Atalanta almost beat us with 3 at the back. If he uses that formation on Saturday he’s not actively managing, he’s just riding whatever worked in the past (he’s used this formation a couple of times to get himself out of jail) and hoping for the best. I bet he’ll go with the 3-5-2 again, he won’t start Sancho or Van De Beek, and we’ll be 2 or 3-0 at halftime.

Woke up to some pretty upset Tumblr posts, looked at the result, the lineup, and the stats…like clockwork. We were lucky they weren’t more clinical in front of goal or it could’ve be another rout. 🎤👇🏾

I just think it’s hilarious that we now have two $40M players sitting on our bench, while McFred and Magelof both start. 😂 Oh, and our promising striker who scores with his eyes closed (and will probably get taken by a club that has the sense to play him) is also on the bench. I mean, wow. 😂
