Team Cerberus can be egged on into friendly competitions by their friends/each other, but usually they're far too busy for that sort of stuff.

As for rivals, oh boy they sure do have them. A whole rival archaeology team, in fact! Team Kerberos, which yes, is the Roman name for Cerberus. They're all squirrels, because I can't resist hitting all the dog jokes with my oupies lmao.

Carlisle the Terrier's rival is Madeley the Flying Squirrel. She's the only nice member of Team Kerberos, spoiler alert. She's a cheerful social little thing that aims to please with her inventing. She's got a huge crush on Carlisle, who's super not interested in her. (Aro/ace) She also lacks imagination, according to Carlisle. Spends too much time building inventions for others but not herself.

Dinah the Spaniel's rival is Patti-Jo the Mexican Ground Squirrel. Unlike Dinah, who's always eager to learn archaeology and will take being wrong as a learning experience, Patti-Jo refuses to ever be wrong, even when she is. She has to leave every conversation with everyone believing she's the smartest person in the room, no matter the misinformation she spreads. Dinah avoids her like the plague, every conversation turns into a battle of wits and it's too tiresome to deal with every time she meets her.

And Brutus the Bulldog's rival is Caesar the Red Squirrel, who might just be the worst one tbh. He's specifically those red squirrels with the tufts of fur on the ears that look like little devil horns, your only hint of what's to come. Caesar seems charming and delightful when you talk to him, but that's his power, you see. He's got an almost siren like voice, he can put an unsuspecting person at ease and get them to trust him without question just by talking to them. If someone Patti-Jo specifically siced him on someone, he'll usually give them a drink or a snack as they talk. Do not, under any circumstances, consume anything Caesar gives you. Team Kerberos won't do anything unspeakably evil to you, but you will wake up about a week later in another country with no recollection of what has occurred, which can range anywhere from extremely inconvenient to career/relationship ending depending on what you were supposed to be doing during that week you lost. It frustrates Brutus to no end that Caesar can't fail in any social situation and he uses it for THIS. (Meanwhile Brutus can't charm his way out of a paper bag. He's nice, but sorely lacking in the charisma department.)
