BigBang MADE in Anaheim

This is my fan account partly created because I don’t want to forget everything and partly because Alyssa (@alengthoftime) thought she was asking too many questions (she wasn’t!!!). This is going to be long-winded, I apologize in advance.

And thus begins my retelling. I’m going to start with Sunday morning because that’s when I flew in.

My mom and I both had to work on Saturday and couldn’t take time off, so we opted for the Sunday show in Anaheim. We flew in at 10 am and checked into our hotel. We had decided to wear different outfits for the concert than for the rest of the day just in case we spilled food on ourselves, etc. I decided to wear my J-Hope BTS sweater because why not lol. We went out to lunch around 12 something in our hotel parking lot but on the way back to our room...we encountered another BigBang (and BTS) fan!!! She got in after us and was standing in the corner for a bit and as we were about to exit on our floor (we were on 8, she was on 14), she complimented me on my sweater! We made some small chit chat about being excited about going to the concert that night and found out she was going as well (she was also visiting her friend because she flew in from Kentucky). I think her name was Danielle (I was a creep and tried to look at her Starbucks cup lmao). If you see this, you were a very nice person and I hope you enjoy your time in California!!!

My mom and I were both tired once we got back to the room and both took naps. Concert was supposed to start at 8 and we ended up leaving our hotel by about 6:45. It’s about a 10 minute drive but with all of the traffic it took about 15. As we were driving up to the Honda Center I was shocked that there were still TONS of people waiting in extremely long lines. I never actually checked to see what time the doors opened, but for 7 I was expecting lines much shorter than what we encountered. We encountered two lines that were probably the longest, but ended up finding one that was marginally shorter. At one point a man brushed past us saying “excuse me” and we didn’t think anything of it but the lady behind us in line was freaking out saying it was Han from Fast and Furious! I told Alyssa and she messaged later confirming it. What are the odds!!! We waited in line until about 7:55 and finally made it through security.

Finally inside the venue I was being paranoid about missing the beginning so we beelined it straight upstairs to our seats (we were in the 4th row of section 408). I had looked up the approximate view our seats were have and I was not disappointed! We had a decent view of the entire stage and it didn’t feel too far away in terms of trying to take pictures. We spent the next 30 minutes waiting for the show to start, watching the MVs being showed and messaging Alyssa. At around 8:20 it was announced that due to traffic outside (and obviously the large amount of people still outside), the concert would start in 10 minutes and at around 8:30, it did!!!

The intro video began and the screaming began (not from me though lol, I don’t scream tbh). I tried in vain to get the individual silhouettes/names on the red screen with little success, I only got Taeyang’s. Anyway...

I LOVE Bang Bang Bang live. I think my favorite part is the little guitar riff? between the “Bang Bang Bang” parts. Props to Justin the guitar player because he is awesome. I also am a sucker for all of the lights used. The different colors going in the different directions was great and looks really good on camera. I think it’s a great song to start the show because it got everyone hyped up.

Next up was Tonight, one of my favorites of theirs! Love loved loved the fireworks in the middle and GD holding the guitar that had a laser coming out of it. I applaud whoever had that idea, it was A+++.

Stupid Liar was next. I will admit I don’t particularly feel one way or another about this song, so I’ll say that they did well on it? I liked that they had incorporated the walkways. I hadn’t watched any tour reports or fancams in weeks because I didn’t want to spoil the majority of the concert for myself before even going. I was NOT expecting them to move together. I was surprised lmao.

After this came all 5 talking to the audience. I must say, Taeyang was so cute that night talking. Send help, I’m not okay hahaha. GD and Seungri’s talks were fine but TOP had me dying with the “You like?”

At this point they did a stripped/acoustic/whatever you want to call it rendition of Haru Haru that was MAGNIFICENT. I somehow managed to only take a pic instead of getting video like I thought and I’m sad about it. Seriously need to check fancams because it’s so good.

I didn’t actually record any of the trailers in between but BB went offstage and came back to do Loser. I don’t have much to comment on this, but they did a great job.

Blue was amusing to me because of what happened before the concert started. On the screen MVs were shown, but also a vid on concert etiquette. After that links were shown on where to download a blue MADE screen to show during Blue. My mom and I followed the link and maybe it was because of so many people using wifi or so many people on BB’s YG page, but it wasn’t loading properly. My mom literally tried for ten minutes to get it to load and couldn’t even find the blue pic that she needed lol. Suffice it to say, when Blue started, I didn’t see many people showing the blue screen.

Next was Bad Boy, I think. I feel like they talked after Bad Boy and before If You but my lack of video during that point and memory aren’t helping lol. Anyway, they talked so more and when it got to Seungri I was cackling. He ended up talking about it being hot and proceeded to kind of take off his jacket while singing Hot in Herre *crying*. Everyone left talks then Seungri teaches the audience about throwing hearts and proceeds to do it. I think this is when TOP showed hearts too and he was so embarrassed he bowed his head, it was adorable tbh.

So like I said, I hadn’t really kept up with the previous performances and thought Lies was going to be performed at this point but they did If You. I was a little sad at this point because I really wanted to hear Lies haha. My sadness and confusion were asuaged later though, god bless.

If You was after this and it was fantastic. It’s such a beautiful song and even my mom said it sounded touching even if she didn’t know what they were saying.

Now for the solo stages. My mom liked Strong Baby although she said that the lights were flashing so much that she wouldn’t be surprised if somebody had a seizure as a world. Seungri did a great job.

Daesung came out for Wings on the big pedestal coming out of the floor and my mom asked how was he supposed to dance all the way up there hahaha. Anyway, he did a great job and now he’s my mother’s second favorite in BB.

Now for TOP. My mom loves him the most. She says that she really enjoys his voice, his hairstyle that night (lol), and his style. She was also impressed with how fast he was rapping. Doom Dada was lit and the lasers made it even better. Probably my fave solo performance of the night.

Taeyang did a super fantastic job with Eyes, Nose, Lips as always. A+ singing from him, the crowd was screaming so loud for him which was nice.

Zutter was great to hear live. I loved when it was TOP’s time to say “zutter” he just let the audience say it instead and I loved it.

Good Boy was AWESOME. It’s a personal fave so I was dancing in my seat a little. I was also dying laughing because my mom really liked it and kept singing, “I am a good girl” LMFAO. It was hilarious and she said that she really liked the beat

As for Crooked, I was pleasantly surprised. I’m fairly neutral toward it but this performance made me love it a bit more. GD and the backup dancers were so high energy, it would be hard not to get into this song!

GD disappears and out comes Daesung for his drum solo!!! I, like I said before, wanted to come into this show a bit in the dark and had forgotten about this. It was soooo nice to see him happy and drumming away. I also didn’t realize he was going to drum during Sober so I was excited!!! Daesung did such a great job. Bravo! I know Sober isn’t an ending song, but at one point BB and their dancers line up and kick out their legs. That would be a great way to end a show, oh well lol.

Bae Bae was next and that was good. Had to tell my mom GD was saying “nege” and not a word I’m sure you know what it’s mistaken for.

Onto the best part of the night. BB was saying their goodbyes I guess you could say (even though they ended up having like 5 more songs after that lol). Taeyang said cute stuff. TOP said his spiel in English, then started speaking in Korean and the everybody started screaming haha. Daesung talked then Seungri but then Seungri wanted Daesung to do a sexy dance. He complied and the band started playing Billie Jean. Hilarity ensues as Taeyang tries to sing Billie Jean. Cue my mother questioning if BB is obsessed with Michael Jackson. The Billie Jean coupled with some of their MJesque dances moves plus high water pants, socks, and the loafers. I was dying, I love my mother. So Daesung does the dance and then apologizes to his mom who we didn’t know was in the audience! He even said, “I’m sorry mom, I’m not a bad boy.” LMFAOOO. Then it Seungri thanked the VIPS and said, “I love you bro, I don’t know you but I love you.” Such a goober, I was cackling. He also said that he loved GD and he was his her, screeching ensues. Last but definitely not least was GD saying their was one song left. What a liar lol. GD said something along the lines of “this is the last song, are you ready?” and waited for screaming/applause. So then he says, “Not yet huh...I said, y’all still with me?” At this point my mom looks over at me and asks if GD has watched too many videos with black people or hung out with too many black people and I SCREAMED. I don’t even scream but I screeched/cackled so loud I almost fell out of my seat. Then GD introduces Fantastic Baby as “Fantastic Motherfuckin Baby” and the look on my mother’s face was priceless. Her jaw dropped. I laughed/cackled/screeched/cried for a full minute probably. That was the highlight of my night. I was literally crying real tears.

Fantastic Baby was awesome and so many people sang along. I actually got out of my seat at some point after I stopped crying. I knew this wasn’t going to be the last song, but had read they only did like one encore song so I was preparing myself for the show to end relatively soon. And then the encore vid started playing!!

They came out for We Like 2 Party with towels on their heads and my mom asked me if they thought they were little gangsters looking like that. Cue me dying/crying/etc a second time. I absolutely love my mother with all my heart because her commentary is the best. At the end of it, they started introducing the band and dancers making me think it was all over, but nooo! I think they were having a great time and didn’t want to leave yet. The dancers went off and they were heading toward the exit but Taeyang said, “Do you guys want us to just leave?” Obviously not!!! So they did Bang Bang Bang. They then were walking around and deciding what they wanted to sing next. I think Taeyang felt ignored a bit because he even said that they weren’t even listening to him lol. He then asked Gil? the music director what he wanted to do next and he decided on Lies. God bless Gil because we wouldn’t have heard Lies otherwise. They did wonderful job and there were so many people singing along! Last song of the night ended up being Bae Bae. And then it was over! The main screen closed and there was video of them walking off stage. I was cracking up because TOP blew a kiss at the camera and walked off in the opposite direction only to be told he had to turn around, then passing by the same camera he had just blown kisses at. So cute lol.

All in all I absolutely LOVED this concert. BigBang puts on a great show!!!! A++, would definitely recommend if you ever get a chance or whenever they tour again!!
